The restaurant has a welcoming staff. The menu mostly seafood and steak was adequate. I ordered the scallop daily special. They were 8 small scallops seared served with a balsamic reduction and basil sauce. They were well prepared and the sauces were tasty. The meal came with a lemon asparagus risotto and cabbage slaw on top of the risotto. I'm fussy in that I don't like my food mixed. Husband had shrimp and grits. Way too runny! Had a good flavor but was almost a soup. $30 for scallops and $30 for shrimp and grits. About $12 too much for each entree for the portions. Don't feel the need to return.

We were very pleased with food and service. We had the wood grilled barramundi which a fish found around Australia, New Zealand. It was as good or better than our experience while traveling in Australia. One member of our party enjoyed the seafood platter; this is a platter that could be shared by two. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server has been with the company since 1992. His knowledge and attentiveness was wonderful. We will definitely go back. BTW try the carrot cake!

As always, even at their new location, Chequer's Seafood and Grill continues to deliver awesome food. The crab cakes are sensational. We also had the fresh grouper and trout and both were outstanding. One of my favorites is the Lobster Bisque which is very flavorful without being too rich. All in all another wonderful evening.

Our party of 4 very much enjoyed our meal at Chequers on Friday night. The Atlantic salmon was excellent. My husband had the tuna but he was less enthusiastic because it appeared to have been poached instead of grilled. Overall, we all enjoyed ourselves, though.

It was a lovely evening with friends. I had the mixed grill and my husband had the fried shrimp. I was very pleased with the combination of seafood and it was all delicious. My husband thought the friend shrimp was too crispy but I thought they were very good. Our friends had the plank salmon and the rainbow trout. They were both pleased. The biscuits were outstanding and a nice way to start off the evening. We had the creme brulee' and carrot cake for dessert. We enjoyed both of these. We were given cookies to take home and we had those yesterday and they were very good. Overall it was a nice evening with very good service. It was a little noisy with a large party near us but the restaurant can't help that. We would go again.

This was our first visit to Chequers in many years. Greeting and seating was quick. Our server(s) were there when we needed them to be and they did their jobs well. We went straight for the entree' so I can only rate them. We both had scallops and they were very good, tasty, and perfectly done. Risotto was the side and although I rarely have it was good as well. Presentation was very pleasing. We had carrot cake for dessert (shared), and I found it a little too sweet and rich. A lighter version would have been my preference. I would certainly go back. Pricing was a little high, but I'm finding overall fine restaurant prices going up quite a bit. For me this is a special occasion place, but I would go out of my way for it.

As commented previously, always liked Chequers and was really happy when they moved closer to my house. First visit was uneven (like a new opening - slow service, some items lukewarm) but food, food prep, and service have gotten consistently better with each visit. Food quality is tremendous and you can get a truly great meal here, "most of the time". Food is not cheap but you get what you pay for.

We are still amazed by all the great and varied selections that Chequers provides at brunch. Along with the carving station providing Maple Glazed Ham and Prime Rib there is a huge Omelet station. Our friends love the Sushi, Shrimp, Chicken Picatta, Fried Chicken and Smoked Salmon. My favorite entree is the Shellfish Cioppino with brown rice. The hash browns, cheddar cheese grits. cheese blintzes. eggs and seasonal vegetables with herbs and red pepper are delicious. The chocolate fountain with fruit that can be dipped, along with the dessert bar is a real hit. Service is as good as the food and Brantley, the manager, along with the hostesses and servers, do all that is possible to provide the best possible dining experience.

we had an excellent server . The manager and folks who worked there were all excellent, professional and friendly. They went out of their way to make the client feel wanted. However it was disappointing to have lukewarm coffee which should not occur at a fine dining location. Chicken dish was a little bland and carafe of wine was quite small. It seemed to be even less than what we would expect for a glass of wine.

Crabcakes !!! Crabcakes!!! My favorite crabcakes in the world are still available at Chequers new location. On the whole, the food is every bit as good or better than before. The new restaurant is sleeker and more updated than the old one but... I miss the open kitchen and the cozy feel of the old one. Many of the servers here are younger and come across as less polished than the staff at the old restaurant. Some of that will come from experience. But the food shines. Barramundi was excellent. Recommend that seafood mixed grill - for the best of the best.

I was pleased to have a nice option in East Cobb, but our server was sub-par and the location is a remodeled Houlihan's and doesn't look much better. To the chef's credit our food was great but our server was not attentive and did not reflect the nuance of the price point dining experience they are trying to create. We may give it one more try, perhaps lunch since dinner was pricey for this experience. To thrive, they will need to amp up the service or lower the prices. The value/experience equation is not just right…..

My wife and I visited on a Sunday night recently. I had been to the Hammond Drive location many times when I officed in the Perimeter area, but had not been there in years. We were seated promptly on arrival. She had salmon and I had swordfish, both cooked perfectly.. We enjoyed the hot biscuits, a holdover that is welcome. Our service was good, not great, with our water delayed in getting there. We enjoyed a half off wine special for Sunday nights, that makes the evening very affordable. This should be a welcome addition to the East Cobb dining scene - a place that truly has a specialty in seafood. Recommend a visit.

We enjoyed our first visit to Chequers. Not knowing what to expect we decided to try the Spring Rolls and were pleasantly surprised. For entrees we chose the Trout and the Crab Cakes. Both were very satisfying both in terms of quality and quantity. In the future we will be back and expect that we can count on enjoying any of the fresh fish dinners. We did find the dining room to be cold - I'm sure it was because they were not especially crowded but they should be mindful of that and adjust accordingly.

There is a huge selection of food from breakfast to lunch and food is always served at the correct temperature and is always flavorful. Dinners are also cooked to perfection. Brantley and Victoria are always happy to accommodate our nutritional requests without sacrificing flavor. We see repeat customers every Sunday, which shows how much care is put into making a lovely brunch or dinner. Guests feel like family and enjoying one another as well as the food. The new location for Chequers in Marietta is wonderful and there are an abundance of parking spaces available in this large lot. Our dinner was superb from the delicious, fresh and hot rolls to the exquisitely crafted dessert. We really like the new homemade ice creams and every one we have tried has been a winner thus far. We also had the most delicious, moist and yummy chocolate cake, which my husband and I shared(fought over!). I think it is a flourless chocolate cake, but the consistency is like a chocolate mousse that just melts in your mouth. We took our favorite server's(Bernie) recommendation and tried the new bourbon glazed salmon cooked on a thin slice of maple wood and it was wonderful!

I began dining at there original location when I started traveling here in 1991 and enjoyed eating there quite often. My wife and wanted to try the new location for the first time since they moved to Marietta and was very satisfied. It had a very nice decor, and was surprisingly quiet in the dinning room. The waitress was very friendly and knows her job. The grilled Ahi Tuna was perfectly cooked and made a great meal. The portion was larger than I could finish; perhaps I shouldn't have eaten the second biscuit. I noticed the huge bar and that it was full, so I guess it is quite popular. I'd recommend them to anyone.
