This evening we dined on Florida grouper. As prepared, this meal was as fresh as if I was in Florida on the Gulf. I really enjoy each time I come to Chequers.

This was the first time I returned to Chequers Seafood Restaurant after they relocated from Perimeter to Marietta. They certainly lived up their promises and my expectations. As usually great food and service. My wife and I are looking forward to return to Chequers next week Thursday for our Thanksgiving dinner reservation.

What a pleasure to eat out in peace and quiet with Tony Bennett in the background. The food was excellent and the lobster bisque is consistently superb. Our waiter John was attentive , polite and yet demure. If you haven't tried this new location it is worth the trip. We will have to take others with us next time we go so they too can enjoy this experience. Snellville,Ga

First and last time I will go to this resturant. The food was OK at best and grossly overpriced. Specifically, the mussels should have been served in some amount of broth and with melted butter. There was little of the former and none of the latter. The $37.00 surf and turf included about 2oz of turf and a scoop of surf. The lobster salad was less than overwhelming in appearance and content but at $30.00 I am sure the profit margin was high. I could have gone to Chili's for twice the food (thats good) at half the price. Next time I will.

Chequers is really hitting stride. I am really happy to have an upscale seafood restaurant in the area. Char crusted Ahi is a favorite, and the presentation and accompaniments are delicious. Wife had the salmon which was great as well. Great higher end wine by the glass and cocktail program. On Sunday, wine bottles are 1/2 off. Seems the word is getting out as the traffic really seems to be building.

We always liked the Perimeter location, but found it really difficult to get there, especially on a week night. We are thrilled to have this restaurant in Cobb County now & will be back many times over. The food was great, the wine list was nice & reasonably priced & our server (John) was fantastic! It was a little loud, so not sure I could recommend it as a romantic spot, but I think that is just evidence of what a great restaurant this is!

You can always count on great food and service at Chequers Seafood. The staff does all that is possible to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Managers Brantley and Victoria provide a warm atmosphere, food cooked to order, served at the right temperature and the right pace. Servers and hostesses are excellent and guests always feel welcome. They have an outstanding brunch with a great variety of delicious food including breakfast items as well as lunch. We recognize many guests who go as many Sundays as they can. We recommend Chequers highly for a nice treat.

This restaurant is serious about its reputation and the quality of service it offers. I came here for my mom's birthday and after we seated, we were instantly given water and asked if we would like a biscuit. Our waitress was prompt and ever present. The food not only looked good, but it tasted amazing! The steak was so seasoned and tender I could cut it with a butter knife. My mom had the lobster tail which was divine. My father had the steak and crab cake and he said it was actually a crab cake! Then came dessert which was simply amazing. I'm not a fan of carrot cake but this cake is awesome. The key lime pie came with a scoop of passion fruit sherbet. I could have just lived off the sherbet alone! I will definitely come back!

If you compare this to the Chequers Seafood that was by Perimter Mall you will be disappointed. However, if you look at it as a new restaurant I think you will find it good. Our food and service were very good. Not white table cloth, but a great neighborhood restaurant for date night. The entree prices at first seem high but then we realized they included two sides which made it a good price point. We will be back.

Usually comments focus on the food. This note focuses on the management. Bad service can and does ruin a very good dinner. This Gen Mgr, B. Smith, has trained, "honed" this staff to, and maintains a very high standard. He and they circulate unobstrusively thru the restaurant keenly aware of happenings and if any "negatives" appear they are quick to neutralize same.

It was my husband's birthday. He had the steak and a lobster ( 2 separate entries), so kind of pricey. He said it was delicious and he would return for the same meal. I had the sword fish with green beans. The green beans were a little greasy with the butter. The fish was... good. I have had better. Overall, we enjoyed it and shall return. John was very attentive to our needs and he checked frequently to inquire. I am not sure if this is customary or because the restaurant was not very busy. Anyway, John rocks!

We had another great brunch at Chequers. The food is always served at the appropriate temperature and is always replenished so there is no wait. Service is as excellent as the food. There is such a large variety that people go weekly and are able to have a totally different meal. I enjoy the Cioppino cheese grits, vegetables, salads, fruit and blintzes and my husband enjoys the beef, hash browns, smoked salmon on a bagel, shrimp, pastries and the chocolate fountain. Chequers has a warm and inviting environment and a relaxed atmosphere. Chequers always exceeds expectations.

We had a party of 7 on a Friday night. First of all, they take reservations, which is nice! Our server could not have been better. The food was wonderful. I like that they brought all the salads out at the same time. Likewise, several people brought all the entrees out at the same time. The service was great, and very much a notch above the restaurants in the nearby area. We will be back.

The restaurant has a welcoming staff. The menu mostly seafood and steak was adequate. I ordered the scallop daily special. They were 8 small scallops seared served with a balsamic reduction and basil sauce. They were well prepared and the sauces were tasty. The meal came with a lemon asparagus risotto and cabbage slaw on top of the risotto. I'm fussy in that I don't like my food mixed. Husband had shrimp and grits. Way too runny! Had a good flavor but was almost a soup. $30 for scallops and $30 for shrimp and grits. About $12 too much for each entree for the portions. Don't feel the need to return.

We were very pleased with food and service. We had the wood grilled barramundi which a fish found around Australia, New Zealand. It was as good or better than our experience while traveling in Australia. One member of our party enjoyed the seafood platter; this is a platter that could be shared by two. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server has been with the company since 1992. His knowledge and attentiveness was wonderful. We will definitely go back. BTW try the carrot cake!

Chequers never disappoints with their amazing fresh baked biscuits.....the lobster roll appetizer, not so much. The small portion of lobster salad is served on two dinner rolls (not as good as the biscuits, a wrap might work better) and the smallest portion of french fries ever :-/

It was a lovely evening with friends. I had the mixed grill and my husband had the fried shrimp. I was very pleased with the combination of seafood and it was all delicious. My husband thought the friend shrimp was too crispy but I thought they were very good. Our friends had the plank salmon and the rainbow trout. They were both pleased. The biscuits were outstanding and a nice way to start off the evening. We had the creme brulee' and carrot cake for dessert. We enjoyed both of these. We were given cookies to take home and we had those yesterday and they were very good. Overall it was a nice evening with very good service. It was a little noisy with a large party near us but the restaurant can't help that. We would go again.

This was our first visit to Chequers in many years. Greeting and seating was quick. Our server(s) were there when we needed them to be and they did their jobs well. We went straight for the entree' so I can only rate them. We both had scallops and they were very good, tasty, and perfectly done. Risotto was the side and although I rarely have it was good as well. Presentation was very pleasing. We had carrot cake for dessert (shared), and I found it a little too sweet and rich. A lighter version would have been my preference. I would certainly go back. Pricing was a little high, but I'm finding overall fine restaurant prices going up quite a bit. For me this is a special occasion place, but I would go out of my way for it.

As commented previously, always liked Chequers and was really happy when they moved closer to my house. First visit was uneven (like a new opening - slow service, some items lukewarm) but food, food prep, and service have gotten consistently better with each visit. Food quality is tremendous and you can get a truly great meal here, "most of the time". Food is not cheap but you get what you pay for.

We are still amazed by all the great and varied selections that Chequers provides at brunch. Along with the carving station providing Maple Glazed Ham and Prime Rib there is a huge Omelet station. Our friends love the Sushi, Shrimp, Chicken Picatta, Fried Chicken and Smoked Salmon. My favorite entree is the Shellfish Cioppino with brown rice. The hash browns, cheddar cheese grits. cheese blintzes. eggs and seasonal vegetables with herbs and red pepper are delicious. The chocolate fountain with fruit that can be dipped, along with the dessert bar is a real hit. Service is as good as the food and Brantley, the manager, along with the hostesses and servers, do all that is possible to provide the best possible dining experience.

we had an excellent server . The manager and folks who worked there were all excellent, professional and friendly. They went out of their way to make the client feel wanted. However it was disappointing to have lukewarm coffee which should not occur at a fine dining location. Chicken dish was a little bland and carafe of wine was quite small. It seemed to be even less than what we would expect for a glass of wine.

Crabcakes !!! Crabcakes!!! My favorite crabcakes in the world are still available at Chequers new location. On the whole, the food is every bit as good or better than before. The new restaurant is sleeker and more updated than the old one but... I miss the open kitchen and the cozy feel of the old one. Many of the servers here are younger and come across as less polished than the staff at the old restaurant. Some of that will come from experience. But the food shines. Barramundi was excellent. Recommend that seafood mixed grill - for the best of the best.
