Chef Warren’s serves fusion cuisine - with a firm base in classic French (due to Warren's Culinary Institute of America education).

The ambiance is fusion as well - bistro style that is at once classic and comfortable with the added feature of an open kitchen so foodies can watch the work in progress.

Marianne runs nightly wine by the glass specials that allow you to try lesser known wine varietals, and the staff serve up amazing mojitos.

Warren and his wife Marianne have spent the last thirteen years delighting diners with their worldly cuisine and genuine hospitality.

Other than the prices being a little high for everyday dining, we fell for this find in the downtown area of Southern Pines."

  • "Great food, great ambience. One note, the menu that was displayed on open table was not the same menu when we got to the restaurant. No matter, everything was delicious. My date and I ended up sharing a prosciutto, salami, and caprese appetizer, with a halibut entree. Both were exceptional. The chocolate mousse dessert was phenomenal - not too rich and you didn't feel stuffed after eating it."

  • "We like Chef Warren's - one of the better choices in town (and decent restaurants are seriously lacking in Pinehurst/SP). On a recent visit, the food was very good but there were a few simple things that a team of this caliber should've gotten right. Filet was way undercooked. The hostess/owner looked mildly appalled when I pointed this out (asked for medium and got rare) but she quickly rectified the problem (meat came back a tad "grey") and offered to "buy us dessert" which was much appreciated. The pork, on the other hand, was overcooked - on the upside, mashed potatoes and spicy mac and cheese that accompanied the main dishes were fabulous. Super friendly staff and stocked bar will keep us coming back. Interior could use a facelift. "

  • "Not a lot of options and those that are on the menu lack creativity. They advertise 1 Vegan entree on the menu, but to MAKE vegan you had to order without the yogurt. Why not make a vegan yogurt option? I would love to see non vegan restaurants have their chefs use the same kind of creativity they use on their meat dishes,on vegan dishes. Take a cue from restaurants like Plant, Fiction Kitchen and Luna's Living Kitchen for some creative and colorful dishes that are sure to please. The demand for vegan and vegetarian dishes will only continue to rise and even those who still choose to eat meat don't want it at EVERY meal. Until then looks like Charlotte, Durham and Asheville will be my favorite places to find amazing Vegan food!"

We are both retired military and have dined at many restaurants all over the us and abroad. We would rate Chef Warren's in the top ten!! The salads and entrees taste and presentation were outstanding and the service was on point. Perfect blend of attentiveness without being pesky. Loved the dessert as well and th e staff was very personable. Will definitely be back."

We started off with tapas, had some salads and then entrees which included pate, bison, steak, and trout. The presentation was great and the flavors were perfect! Even though the restaurant isn't designed for young children and a toddler, they were more than accommodating and very friendly with my children. It was a great experience and we look forward to returning again soon."

  • "I surprised my husband by taking him to Chef Warren's for his birthday this past Saturday night. When I made the reservation online, I noted that I wanted his desert to have a candle in it to celebrate his birthday. I was pleasantly surprised when they actually did this. It was nice to know that someone actually read what I wrote. We both enjoyed the two specials they had that evening, which were absolutely amazing! We ended our dinner with the chocolate peanut butter creme brulee. It made for a perfect sweet treat to share (candle and all). In addition to the food, the atmosphere was one of my favorite parts of our dining experience. It was like we were in a different country. I highly recommend dining here."

  • "Chef Warren's open kitchen was a notable welcome feature on Saturday, with temps outside in the teens. Maitre Marianne always gives guests a warm welcome so it is a pleasure to dine there. The menu, though not extensive, covers all the bases and Chef makes sure everything on offer has its own special touch. Local sourcing is a strong point here. The wait staff is professional: always timely, never rushing. This is a great neighborhood bistro."

Our waiter never introduced himself choosing to approach the table with a flat "You guys want some drinks?" That continued for the duration. At one point we asked for more bread. After waiting much too long, we finally asked a busboy who brought it promptly. Maybe he should be promoted."

  • "The entire experience was wonderful. I made a reservation a few days in advance for my wife's birthday and then the day of was told by her that it would be too late and she would be starving. The day of I made called to try and see if they had a table available for earlier in the evening and they were more then accommodating. We live about an hour away in Fayetteville and made the drive that evening. It was located on the corner of the block and my wife was delighted about the location and aesthetics as it brought her back to her Washington State ideal of what a small town should look like. Everything was wonderful the portion were generous, the service was beyond our expectations and all in all we had a wonderful night."

  • "I hate that it took us this long to go to Chef Warren's for the first time. The customer service was very good despite the busy dinner crowd. The restaurant is a neat combination of nice/gourmet and also relaxed/family because the staff works as a team and part of the kitchen is in the dining room. The only downfall was that it is pretty noisy but it quieted down as people left. We ended up drinking the wine specials instead of from the wine list because they were so good. We also appreciated the full bar.The food was fantastic, I mean everything was good from apps to desserts. Particularly the steak frites with "cheese fries" and the best pecan pie I have ever had. Thanks for a wonderful night, we can't wait to come back!"
