I thoroughly enjoy dining at Chef Rob's. I try to bring as many people there to experience the atmosphere as well as the great food they provide. I also think it very good advertising by Chef Rob offering cooking classes on various items that they sell. the surroundings are unique and comfortable. I will continue to dine there and tell others about it.

Everything was a bit too hot and spicy for us except for the grilled chicken in my chef's salad --that was just right except the chicken was a bit dry and overdone.

  • Atlanta's Hidden Gem
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 9/16/2012
Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe is a hidden gem of the Atlanta community. Your plate comes to you nice an hot, filled with tastes and textures that tantalize and tease your palate. His ability to blend spices creates a culinary journey that is expected and yet, surprising. I had the curried goat and oxtails; it came with rice and peas (of course), and cabbage with shredded carrots. I ordered a side dish of plantains. They were hugh and sweet. A mouth watering meal. Next time you are in Atlanta, put the address in your GPS and venture forth!

I had the vegetable side plate (choice of 4 sides). The coconut rice with the stir-fried vegetables was amazing! The seasoning on the vegetables was sweet with just a little bite. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and delicious! The yellow yam was kind of boring, but to be honest - it was exactly how they described. I don't know what I was expecting :) My husband had the shrimp skewers and LOVED them. The presentation was beautiful (the skewers were stuck in a big hunk of pineapple). This place is a little hidden off in the corner of a shopping center. But it is SO worth hunting it down. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. And the food.. oh the food....

I had some friends come in town from Rhode Island and North Carolina. They wanted Caribbean food. I googled and found your restaurant. It looked very inviting. So we decided to try it out. We were very satisfied! They went on and on about how much they loved the food. They said this will be our spot whenever they're in town. This definitely gave me and A for effort on our dining experience!

Extremely over priced ($10 per drink or appetizer). Not very kid friendly with poor and infexible menu. $16 for a basic pasta dish then $6 to add a meat! Family of six, two alcoholic drinks, no desert, automatic 18% tip = $178!!!!!! Save your money and try other more affordable places.

I keep coming back! Every time a group or friends ask me of a place to eat, I suggest Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe. The food is great every time! Unlike many other restaurants I go to I never have to worry about being served cold (sat waiting too long) food. It's really pleasant that Chef Rob himself comes around to check on you and your guest. The staff is also very friendly. There is a young man that comes around to pick up plates and refill drinks. I promise you he is the sweetest thing ever. Extremely genuine and pleasant. Every person that I take to Chef Rob's is blown away and says they will return. As you can see I'm hooked! Great food!

The menu was very good with daily specials that add a counterbalance to the Caribbean selections. The appetizer menu was exceptional. Entrees were very good and sufficient to satisfy the biggest appetite. The wine list was appropriate for the meal offering. This is a traditional style Caribbean style restaurant; therefore ambiance is not strong point. The service however was exceptional. Overall this was a very good dining experience.

Chef Rob's was delish. I'm from south Florida and have a lot of friends from the Caribbean so I'm very familiar with how it should taste. Chef Rob put a culinary twist on some favorites. I had the curry shrimp run down and it was spicy and flavorful. My husband wanted to go back the next day. His only complaint is that they don't have cracked conch, but I have to remind him the food isn't Bahamian, it's Jamaican.

I've been wanting to try Chef Rob's for a while now, and I have to say, I was disappointed. We started with the Coconut shrimp, as my gf loves it. Unfortunately, it was a dish I would expect from a place like Applebees. I got the Red Snapper Escoveitch. I really liked the sauce over the fish, but the fish was a bit overcooked and a bit bland. I will note, I decided to try it after a strong recommendation from our waitress despite not being a big fan of whole fish dishes, and it was just not fun to eat. I also got a side of Mac & Cheese which was solid (and went surprisingly well with the sauce. GF had the curry chicken and oxtails combo. It was all decent, but more bland than expected. I will say, the Mojito's were very good! =)
