One person was given the wrong food. We all ordered dessert and 3 were missing. The food and dessert took so long to get to the table that we could not wait for the additional desserts. The receipt had the desserts charged and they took them off after we mentioned it but in doing that my boss's card had three transaction and they closed account.

There was only 2 other parties when we entered so we thought it was going to be a nice quiet lunch. However, we waited 20 minutes bc the host was no where to be found. Then the server told us to wait a bit longer to be seated and so we waited another 10. They were not prep-ed for guests at all. Gave each of us the wrong and different menus which was different from the menu online. Took us another 10 minutes to get water. We were done waiting by then. Server was not attentive or welcoming. He acted like he was so swamped when there was only 3 parties including us and 1 of them left shortly after we were seated. I will never come back and I definitely DO NOT RECCOMEND.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at the Checkers Hilton, better than a typical hotel dinner. Specifically the filet was beautiful and cooked perfectly and the Mahi Mahi was delicious. The drinks were well made and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.

Sat down and found the small plate set at the table was dirty so the server apologized & brought replacement. We ordered the prix fix lunch that came w/soup, salad, entree & dessert to share among other items. There was a hair underneath my asparagus so returned the entree and reluctantly ate half if the remaining stuff. They credited portion of the prix fix which I find tacky. The entire bill should have been voided to keep some sort of respect/reputation. The bread tasted dry and old.

Went for Mother's Day brunch. At first the service was attentive, then they disappeared and had to be flagged down. The food was mostly very good, although it wasn't until we were ready to leave that I heard one man say that if you wanted pancakes or waffles (which were not in the buffet) all you need to do was ask the server. No one had told us that. Also, the amazing desserts we saw as we came in had all disappeared by the time we got to dessert and there was only one cake left and some cookies. They also advertised 'bottomless mimosas' but again, after the first mimosa it was difficult to find a server to bring more. We managed to get two during the entire brunch. Overall it was good but not the level that I expected from Checkers.

Overall the actual service was good during the meal but pre and post valentine's dinner certain things did not impress me. Firstly, our reservation was not even in their computers and finally was seated within a 15 minute wait time. The menu choice was very limited and a few small courses for those with less of an appetite would have been nice. My main concern was that I had to come back to the restaurant (luckily we were still nearby in the hotel) because they did not swipe my credit card correctly). The hostess admitted to that fact but the rude waitress insinuated that I had left our table to fast or that it was somehow our fault. Today I find they overcharged me by 5 bucks, not a good impression.

First with the good. The greeter was really nice and attentive. She called before my reservation and offer to make transportation arrangements for me to the Disney concert hall. The valet attendants were prompt but not super friendly. Now for the okay. The atsmopshere was descent but not equal to the price of the food. The waiter was friendly but not very prompt. The food was not worth the price. We ate from prefix menu at $50 per plate for Valentine's Day. The fried oysters were over cooked and the salad was limp. The poched salmon would have been good if not overcooked. The desert was very Valentines red with strawberries and raspberries but was served on a hard biscuit. The cocktails were pricy too. Its barely an average place.

Took a friend for a late lunch for her birthday. The ambience was wonderful, the server was friendly and professional. The drinks were generous and the food was amazing. We were seated away from the bar so we could have a great conversation, able to easily hear each other. I plan to take other friends next week and many more in the future. It is now my favorite place. It was a delightful experience.

I made a reservation at this restaurant based on the reviews offered by Open Table and others. There were three tables being served at the noon hour they day of my reservation, that included my table, and it was a very disappointing lunch hour. Food was tasteless and not fit to be eaten, horrible, and service for a restaurant that was serving only three tables was inadequate. I would not return to this eateries even if they offered a free lunch. Very disappointing.

This is pretty much a typical hotel restaurant with a limited menu. We had an early 5:30 reservation to attend a 7:30 theater performance and there was only one other table occupied. We were seated directly across from the entrance to the kitchen and could hear the dishwasher banging metal pans. The food was just OK and service was acceptable. They do offer a free shuttle for theater and concert events about 6 blocks away.

We made a reservation and were very happy we did. They offer complimentary car service to the music center - we went to Disney Hall. This made it great - we could have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving. The service was superb and everyone very friendly. I had the seasonal tasting menu which was fabulous. My husband had the fluke which was amazing. The place was not full - but in downtown LA the night scene isn't overwhelming. As another reviewer wrote, the wine list isn't great. We had cocktails which were made perfectly. They do a nice martini so skip the wine and order what they do best. We would definitely go back.

Asked during the dinner to make sure she checked us in - of course no points the next morning and no way to get 1000 points , only 100 points and no Starwood credit either. Notwithstanding the mediocre meal at higher price. Won't be going back at any point level

The food at Checkers is truly outstanding. We had dinner and all four of us were delighted with what we ordered. Our server was attentive and accommodating. Next time (and there definitely will be more visits!) we will bring our own wine. The wine list was limited and unimaginative, only slightly better than what you would find at an Olive Garden. And...they did not list the vintage. Apparently who ever chooses the wine doesn't realize that years do make a difference. A restaurant of the caliber of Checkers is short changing itself with the current handling of wines. It can be small...but it should be imaginative and work with what the chef offers. And not to list the vintage is unacceptable at a fine restaurant!.

The bread order was disappointing. The hotel valet scratched/dented my new car and that ruined an otherwise nice afternoon. As always, the restaurant staff was excellent. The female hotel desk clerk gave us a bad time when we very politely asked for parking validation, which the superb bell hop promised upon our arrival. Kudos to the restaurant staff; the hotel staff needs improvement. This is quite a lovely dining spot; it is a shame when hotel personnel ruin the experience.

Went here for dinner before a show at the Ahmanson. They have a complimentary car service (not passenger van) to the theatre. They have a 4 course fixed priced dinner for around 50 bucks. Totally good deal. Portions are generous and the food is good. The restaurant was fairly quiet with only a couple of tables. Room is nicely appointed and chairs are comfortable. Note: they add valet parking on to the restaurant bill but don't really tell you. Still it was a nice meal and I would return to eat here.
