  • "Our group of 7 had a fabulous time at Chaz! Our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable. We all loved our meals. The Beef Tenderloin was delicious, as was the She Crab soup."

  • "We went to Chaz on the Plaza to celebrate our anniversary. We have a wonderful meal and wonderful wine recommended by our waiter. We had requested a table by the window overlooking the Plaza and they accommodated us. Good wine, Great service and nice view."

  • "Way too salty on the scallops. other dishes at our table were great - short ribs and Chilean sea bass really good."

  • "We had a post wedding get together for 16 people following our daughters wedding. The service was EXCELLENT! Our server was very friendly, fast and accurate. I have NEVER been part of a large group and had all of our food be served at the same time, much less have it served in a short amount of time. That is until our Chaz brunch!"

  • "Every single bite was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent!"
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "Better than average food with an emphasis on steaks -- but at a surprisingly high price. My lamb chops were excellent, but the fatty crust accounted for half the chops' weight! At an a la carte price of $41, I figured each bite cost me $8.00. The wine list is extensive, but again, pricey. Many selections by the glass, which are excellent, are priced north of $15.00. Hey, I'm from New York, so I'm not especially price sensitive when it comes to dining out. But for KC, these guys are pushing it..."

  • "We really enjoyed going back to where we got engaged one year ago, and having a nice dinner with great entertainment. The KC Strip steak had a lot of fat in it and wasn't as good as steak we have had elsewhere, but everything else was excellent. The service was pleasant and attentive as usual."

  • "We had a lovely time for our first wedding anniversary. They gave us a complemantary glass of champagne. The waiter was very attentive yet he gave us space and let us enjoy our evening. The food was some of the best I have had in KC. The Chilean Sea Bass was perfectly crusted and melted in my mouth. My husband really enjoyed the Prime Rib. Overall a very enjoyable experience."

  • "My husband and I have been dining at Chaz on special occasions for several years and thoroughly enjoy it every time. The food, the service, the ambience...it's all worth the price. My husband thinks the steaks are the best he's ever eaten and the sea bass I had last time was truly amazing."

  • "The Chaz is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is absolutely amazing and is the best thing about it. Two of our favorite meals are the beef tenderloin and the veal oscar. We also enjoy the musical entertainment that The Chaz offers. We've only eaten here for dinner, but really want to try brunch sometime."

  • "Nice place, quaint and quiet. However, my very expensive steak was awful. The meat was very fatty with a lot of gristle. I probably should have sent it back to the kitchen. When I told our server (who was very good) he said that after talking to the manager, dessert was on the house. (The dessert was mediocre) We had never eaten at this restaurant and will not go back."

  • "Food was good, I had the scallops, but for me it was a bit too salty and it overpowered the entire dish. we like coming to this restaurant, but this particular evening, service was slow, and they weren't that busy, we waited quite some time for server to come and get our drink order, food order, ect. But, I recommend this restaurant, it's fun, they usually have a little jazz combo playing most nights, food has been consistent, but if you are watching your salt, you might ask for them to hold the salt, I know next time I dine at Chaz, I will."

  • "We took advantage to the Sunday night special - room was $169 but all food that evening and breakfast the next morning was deducted up to the $169. Does not include tax and grat. Food was awesome!"

  • "We had a wonderful dinner at Chaz. Some of the dishes were very original and delicious. One of us had the escargot, which was presented with a warm brown sauce that was wonderful. The beef carpaccio was also delightful, as were our entrees and dessert. We had an excellent wine that was a 1000% Merlot from the makers of Silver Oak-a great find! We loved our server-he was very knowledgeable and entertaining! He also suggested a very unusual bourbon-based cocktail that smoked-it was great!"

  • "Excellent cuisine with attentive service, mixed with beautiful views of the plaza reminded my wife and I of a quaint New York City restaurant from when we used to live there."

  • "Food n the overall experience was good, not great. We were seated in a hallway, which I didn't care about. Maybe a one-time visit...nothing v notable..."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Chaz. Everything was very enjoyable. The food was delicious, down to the sample of she-crab soup. We had some great wine and outstanding service. I had a filet and my companion had the veal and they were excellent. There is valet parking, which is great. Live entertainment in the bar could be heard, but it was a moderate level and added to the experience. Our service was impeccable. We really enjoyed it."

  • "We arrived in Kansas City and met up with family at the Raphael Hotel. We decided to eat here more out of convenience than anything else. The entire evening exceeded any expectations. The bar scene is very lovely with the great music and wonderful ambiance. Our dinner was fantastic. The food was delicious and the service great. We had not seen each other for a long time and were allowed to linger and visit as long as we liked. The restaurant provided a perfect evening."

  • "The restaurant's location inside the lovely Raphael Hotel is a plus for them, because although the food was outstanding, service does not meet the standards of the hotel. The waiters were pleasant enough, but training is just lacking. It's attention to detail that was disappointing. We dined the night before at the Capital Grille, and the contrast in service was stark. It would be beneficial for the F&B manager to take his/her staff to good restaurants on a regular basis to experience great service. Until they improve, only the fact that they are in a hotel will keep diners coming. On it's own, you can't just fly with food alone. In my opinion service is MORE important."

  • "Chaz is the restaurant other establishments aspire to be! From the warm friendly staff to the coffee served at the end of the meal, excellence abounds! Fresh innovative food- creative cocktails. No detail is left unattended to! Portions are ample and leave you satisfied but never heavy or stuffed, and no salt and pepper at the table because it isn't needed. That should tell you something right there. Pricey, yes but worth every penny! We have eaten here several times and always have been extremely pleased with everything when we are here! The Raphael is truly a gorgeous hotel, and we will always recommend them and Chaz for anyone traveling to K.C.!"

  • "The fine dining experience we recall at Chaz just isn't the same. Chaz has become a bar with live music that is far too distracting to dinner guests who are looking for a nice meal in a quiet environment. TOO BAD."

  • "We went to Chaz for Thanksgiving dinner a few years back and found it to be a very nice and intimate atmosphere for a holiday/family meal. It is hard to enjoy out-of-town visitors, meet everyones' church schedules and cook, so when my husband suggested making reservations at Chaz for Easter brunch I jumped at the chance. We are not big fans of buffets and knew that there were a variety of choices on the usual Sunday brunch MENU which were affordable by the different families who were joining us to break bread on Easter. When we walked in and saw that it was a buffet and not the usual brunch menu, we were not totally surprised - after all, it was Easter. But when we saw our bill, we were stunned!!! Last time we will make that mistake!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated or 25th anniversary with them and I was so pleased I chose them. The chef clearly has a Southern influence and was reminiscent of our trip to Georgia, also on an anniversary. The waiter, unfortunately I do not recall his name, was very good. He saw we were celebrating an occasion and went and looked up our reservationand then returned to our table and wished us a happy anniversary. He then ensured we were given free dessert and a nice sparkling wine. The only draw back was a loud group nearby but after they left everyting was perfect. An awesome experience! Highly recommend. "
