Chaya DowntownMother's Day without a hitchThe annual Mother's Day Brunch quest came around and I flashed on the idea of trying out Chaya downtown LA. We are familiar with Chaya Venice and Beverly Hills and so we knew to expect a sophisticated experience. The menu read especially well, the execution of the food was even better, it was excellent. The server was exactly present and attentive enough and the ambience was just right. Enough buzz to be interesting but not at the expense of an atmosphere that was conducive to a pleasant normal speaking voice conversation. We sat outside on the patio and were able to enjoy the outdoors without cars, cold or otherwise encroaching. At $40 each before wine, it was an outstanding deal and an outstanding experience. Other times we sit in the restaurant and enjoy theexceptional and delicious menu items. The service is friendly and attentive. The valet service is uber easy and friendly. Access to Chaya is super easy and parking is validated with only a $5.00 fee.
There is ample room between tables and conversations are not overwhelmed by the chatter of other diners.
The food choices were varied and suitable to all tastes be they large and meaty or vegan.
I chose the bento box. A very ample portion of five different menu items. I especially liked the special house salad. The greens were crisp, and fresh, along with a very tasty, not too spicy dressing, small shreds of white meat chicken and golden raisins are a nice tidbit of sweet.
