A word from Chaya Brasserie Beverly Hills
At CHAYA Brasserie, Our Corporate Executive Chef Shigefumi Tachibe, who is the culinary force behind every Chaya restaurant, creates a menu that reflects his pioneering approach to Euro Asian cuisine. Chef Tachibe infuses exotic ingredients and honored culinary traditions from his native Japanese roots into all of his menus. This culinary approach is reflected in our lunch and dinner menus, offered in the dining room, bar, and patio. In addition to our dinner menu, comprised of an array of salads, hot and cold appetizers, sushi, meat, fish and pasta, a seasonally spontaneous Chef’s Tasting Menu is available by request. Guests can enjoy Happy Hour specials in our bar and lounge featuring unique bar bites and signature cocktails. Our menus are refreshed all year long, using Farmer’s Market and locally-sourced ingredients. CHAYA Brasserie also offers half off bottles of wine on Tuesday nights.

Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant is a classic! Even thought it's been opened for a long time, the food continues to be excellent! Super high quality, outstanding service and very good price for the quality of food and overall experience. It is definetely a gem! One of my favorite restaurants in LA. You really pay for what you are getting. Their happy hour is also amazing! They have the best escargot I've tried in any french restaurant in LA!!"

  • "The over all experience was good. Pork chop Oder was over cooked and not good! The other food was presented well , room for improvement in taste: based on our table experience. It was 5 of us. Waiter was excellent!"

  • "The offering and food at CB is outstanding and reflects true culinary and creative expertise. The menu has items that anyone will be comfortable eating and also has dishes that one will want to try for the first time. Their handling of fish/seafood is outstanding. The service is so warm and attentive. They don't rush you at all and the courses are beautifully spaced. Desserts are delicious-try the bread pudding> unbelievable yummy. So are the sorbets. Go and have an evening to remember and relish."

  • "In a city with so many excellent restaurants, don't pass this one up. The food is superb. One of the best Halibut dishes I've had, and my date had an amazing risotto. Service is wonderful, and the quaint atmosphere is ideal for quiet conversations or a business meeting."

  • "The service was mediocre. Waitress did not know the menu Kitchen was ridiculously slow and when we complained the host said it always takes. 1 1/2 hours for a main bourse to arrive"

  • "The service was attentive and warm and made a big difference in this restaurant experience. This is not a new restaurant, so the menu is not too exciting, but the food was solid and consistent."

  • "Though not the newest place in town, Chaya Brasserie continues to be a GREAT restaurant with a lively scene, very cool and attractive interior, friendly and efficient service, and of course, DELICIOUS food and snappy cocktails. A family favorite, we're never disappointed."

  • "I chose Chaya to take my girlfriend out for Valentine's Day. The whole dining experience was amazing from the customized menus with our names at the top, to the food selections on the special menu, and the waitress who served us. The ambience was amazing and all the little details that went into creating that dining experience was well thought out and appreciated. The food was stellar from our entree choices of venison and lobster. One of my favorite LA spots now."

  • "Haven't been to Chaya Brasserie in years...I remember when it was impossible to get a reservation. It is still quaint and a great place for lunch. The service was great...attentive and friendly without being excessive. Our lunch was okay....I used to love the tuna tuna tuna but not this time. Now the banana banana banana dessert was great!"

  • "this was my first visit to Chaya Brasserie. Now I hope to come back soon, along with family members who will soon visit from out of town."

  • "I was so disappointed in the food. It wasn't even mediocre..it was unedible. The hamburger came under cooked when it was ordered medium-well. All the choices for salad dresings were bitter and we ordered three different ones. The pulled pork was tastless. The sweet potatoe fries and regular fries were excellent. The service was exceptional. I invited my sister to join my daughter and I to celebrater her Birthday and it was not a pleasant affair. The dessert was wonderful but no candle in sight."

  • "This little house serves a nuanced fusion cuisine in a rustic Asian setting. The only thing missing--and this is true of the majority of restaurants on the Westside--is service. Typically it starts out great, but proceeds to deteriorate as the evening progresses until it all but vanishes sometime around the end of the entrée. The waiter may or may not check in to see if all is well or if a party might need something. He may or may not produce a desert menu without being summoned. And so it goes until he has vanished entirely and a busboy must be summoned to fetch him for the check. Spago and Cut do it right. Why can't other great restaurants do as well?"

  • "Our party of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening dinner at Chaya Brasserie in Beverly Hills during DineLA. Creative offerings excited our imaginations and tastebuds. To that add great service, cool eclectic decor, and enjoyable dinner ambiance—Chaya wowwed us from seating, to ordering, to the wine, to appetizers, to entrees, all the way through dessert. Of special note are the Santa Barbara sea urchin risotto, Kobe beef & spicy shrimp roll, the broiled branzino, and the chocolate croissant bread pudding. Highly recommend—Prepare yourself for a great culinary adventure!"

  • "Dine LA dinner menu when reviewed online looked amazing, but was pretty mediocre in real life. I can buy monk fish liver at Mitsuwa Market and add five pieces of vegetable myself and it would've been a lot cheaper. I was impressed with the uni risotto, but the amount of carbs cut my energy for dessert. For dessert, I had the Mont Blanc... It was good, but could there be any more whipped cream on it? Overall, I didn't feel it was worth the $45."

  • "The food was excellent. We enjoyed the Tuna Dome, the Paella and the Banana, Banana, Banana Dessert. Our server Edwin was as polished and professionla as could be. He was outstanding, knowledgeable and monitoered the pacing and our needs. We will definately return and recommend Chaya Brasserie-Beverly Hills to our friends and family!"

  • "Sunday is not very busy, compared to other days, and their wine list is 50% off!!! For desert, definitely go for banana, banana, banana!"

  • "Chaya has a terrific menu with fresh sustainable ingredients. The service is great, and it's a fun place to be. I prefer it immensely to the IVY around the corner. Though the Ivy is also a great place, Chaya is a much better value and the wait staff treat you as people, not tourists. I will be back often."

  • "This is how I begin every meal here. Then I go for items I have never had before, as the menu changes with the seasons and there are always new tastes. This time I had a pear salad with almond ice cream instead of salad dressing -- not only unexpected, but so tasty I wouldn't even share it! Then perfectly cooked sea bass with very subtle flavoring. Perfect."

  • "This was the worst experience we have ever had. The service was terrible despite the fact that they were not even busy. My son needed a fork and we could not get any one of the staff's attention to ask for a fork. My husband ended up getting up from the table and going to the kitchen area to get a fork!!! It was a set menu that was not posted online. I called twice to ask for the menu but never received it! It was a five course meal, after the third course our waitress asked us if we were ready for dessert? She was not even aware what courses we had completed, shows how many time she came over to check on us. We will never go back to Chaya Brasserie. Chaya Venice is much nicer, we will go there in the future."

  • "Attentive staff, great food, quiet at lunch made this restaurant good meeting place for business. The waitress was super and attentive but knew we were discussing a project so she never rushed us. The food is always excellent ,well prepared inventive and the selection varied. The cheif made a selection that was not offered at lunch as special for my guest who was looking forward to having this pasta.. I highly recommend it as a great alternative to the overrated ivy."

  • "After not having been to this Chaya Brasserie for several years, we thought we'd go back for a visit -- and luckily easily got a reservation for Christmas eve. Though not the newest, most "in" spot in town anymore....there's a lot to be said about this place. The decor is outstanding - architectural and very hip -- the food and drinks are wonderful....and the service was prompt and incredibly friendly. Definitely a place to visit again and again!!! If you LOVE Branzino - theirs is fantastic!!!!!"

  • "A great LA standby been there for 30 years. Food remains fantastic. When we were sat next to a door with a cold breeze coming through they accomodated us by moving us to a different table. The server was very nice and knowledgeable and accomodating. The food was as usual great. I had the branzino which was delcious along with everything else."

  • "I dined at Chaya this week with 2 friends. It had been quite a while since any of us had been there. The ambiance was pleasant and the menu has a good variety of dishes. Highly recommend the "pickle" appetizers. Interesting flavors with some sour bites. Great with the sparkling rose (toasty -dry) from of all places, New Mexico. I had the Branzino as my main course and it was expertly prepared. Seared just right and a really nice blend of flavors. The other dishes were well received but won't comment much for this review. The only thing lacking was the service. The drinks, appetizers and bread all came after a number or requests. We arrived early enough so the kitchen should not have been backed up. That said, still worth a visit."

  • "We have been dining at Chaya Brasserie for years. They do everything right! The decor and atmosphere are zen like, comfortable and casual elegant. The service is second to none. The food is fresh, uniquely prepared and always served with a beautiful presentation. The prices are reasonable. The wine is exceptional. Mark is a great server and Racquel is the best hostess! Our group had the Shrimp sandwich, Mushroom risotto, Kobe beef short ribs, and cream of cauliflower soup. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared! Chaya has a selection of unique fresh made lemonades that are so good! We had the green tea mint and the guava! Wow! You cannot go wrong with Chaya Brasserie!"

  • "I celebrated my birthday at Chaya and enjoyed it very much. Seated at a table that was ok, it was like we were ducks in a row, wished I would have spoke up and asked for table that sat 4 since an hour later they sat two people at it. With our server Elizabeth's recommendations/description of the foods we ordered the arare calamari, delicious reminded us of our childhood eating arare. Then had the tuna tartare, wow amazing taste. Husband had the miso sea bass, delicious and I had the Pappardelle, it was good but not great...little disappointing. Had a side of brussel sprouts, they were good but not as tasty as expected. Dessert - Banana, Banana, Banana, really good. Overall loved my birthday dinner here, would definitely return again."

  • "My dining partner repeatedly commented on how much he loved his Papardelle with Kobe Beef, Mushroom, and Truffle Oil. Even after he had finished, he was looking down at his empty plate and still moaning with pleasure :-) My Black & White Pasta with Sea Urchin and Shrimp was delicious too. Service was spot on and gracious. Lovely room. Fabulous lunch!"

  • "We have been to Chaya Brasserie a number of times over the years. It was recently remodeled and is among the most attractive restaurants in LA. The service while always good was exceptional. The timing of the service was perfect, never rushed or leaving you looking around for the next course. For the 30th Anniversary the chef has offered a special price fixed dinner of four courses. It was in a word incredible. The appetizer was served in a small wooden tower with three small plates of various tartare dishes, each unique and delicious. Next a parchment paper bento box of Sea Breem was just wonderful. Next, Beef Sukyaki was tender and uniquely flavored. Dessert was Green Tea shave ice with Mochi. A fantastic dinner and worth every penny."
