We had tickets with friends to see Fleetwood Mac at Prudential Center and we were looking for a good restaurant close to the venue to have dinner beforehand. We chose Chateau of Spain and we are so glad we did. We had 5:45pm reservations and our table was ready right on time. We noted that walk-ins without reservations were being turned away. We were never rushed, the food was excellent and plentiful, and beautifully served. Prices were very reasonable, coming out to under $50 per person with appetizer, drinks (pitcher of red sangria and light beer), entrée, and gratuity. We did not have dessert, too stuffed. Our waiter, Jesus, was excellent with just the right amount of attention to us. We will definitely return the next opportunity.

I made the reservation for this location based on the reviews. I had enjoyed other Spanish restaurants in the Newark and hoped it would be similar. The food was very large portions, but the wine and beer selections were a disappointment and the food was not worth a return visit. The only advantage was that we could watch the game. This will not be something that we would do as a return visit.

We arrived at 6:30 ordered drinks and appetizers and at 6:40 ordered dinner. We had an 8:00 PM event at the Pru center so we should have had plenty of time. At 7:10 we asked the waiter to check on our food. He said it was coming. At 7:20 we asked again and got the same response. At 7:30 (50 minutes after we ordered) I went to the manager and asked him to check. He never returned to us. At 7:40 (a full hour after we ordered) we still were not served and we asked for the check for the drinks and appetizers and left. We won't return

The Chateau of Spain is a great place to go before and event at the Prudential Center. It was an easy walk from Penn Station. The food was good. The Portions were large. (We all took containers to the car on the way to the concert.) The service was a little slow.

It is a restaurant with Bar area. Therefore, it is not supposed to be quiet. Pros: The food is super fast. Food was good, specially the soup of the day is perfect. Only $6 and lots of lobster in it! Cons: Service was not the best, or even a little bit lower than average. Looks like the waiter was not very fluent in English as well.

Chateau of Spain is super convenient for pre dining prior to prudential center event. Dined at upper level. The food is par; Had Shrimp in Garlic Sauce (looked like frozen shrimp which was over cooked!) without much flavor but Mariscada was fine. If you are looking for authentic Spanish cuisine, in my opinion this is not the place (On the menu: Alfredo, buffalo wings, Enchiladas, Quesadilla, etc.).

I came from out of town and took my mother to dinner. We were turned off at the door! The host, pointed to a table "go sit there" I was lost at that point! The tables were extremely small and too small for a family of four, the portion size was great, but the food lacked savor. Totally disappointed!!

Chateau of Spain was a great location for my Uncle 90ths birthday dinner. Food and setting was great. There were 4 birthday celebrations that night, all in the same room and everyone had a Ball. Its was like one big celebration. Service is always good anytime you go there. Upstairs if you want a special setting and downstairs if you want casual. You choose, can't go wrong. Food was more than enough and delicious.

This is a great local spot right near the PruCenter with a wide menu and some tasty food. I chose more of the Spanish Portuguese dishes but they have something for everyone here. The portions are large so you can share with others. The house wine at $ 20 a bottle is a steal and the servers are very friendly. There were a lot of local when we were there so that shows this is a good place to eat. I would return again if I was in the area.

We chose this because of location. The downstairs bar area looks like something out of a bad movie ! Blue sangria ? Fried chicken? Very strange ! Then they took us upstairs which was much nicerbut th efood was outright terrible. The seafood all tasted frozen and rubbery. The chorizo was cooked with pickled vegetable salad. Wine list awful. I would never return, I rather eat a hot dog at the Prucenter snack stand !

When we first arrived we were told to sit anywhere we wanted we sat down and did not hear from a waiter for 20 minutes. We didn't get our drinks until we were 25minutes into our meal. We thought we were getting Spanish food this was like ordering at a diner except not as good. On the menu they had veal parmigiana, wraps and burgers. We would have left but had a limited amount of time before our concert. The bar looked busy and the Caesar salad was ok.
