  • "We have been to Chateau Morrisette several times for lunch and it has always been excellent. This was the first time we were there for a Sunday Brunch. We were extremely disappointed. They ran out of food, we had to wait 25 minutes for the roast beef which was too raw. Will never go back for Sunday Brunch."

The views off the deck are great so if you want a restaurant with everything but consistent good food, this is the place to go."

  • "The entire experience was great! There were 4 people in my party and they all seemed to enjoy it. We each dined on different entrees and everyone agreed that their food was very tasty. I had the beef tenderloin and it was cooked to my specifications and the portion was just right for me. We tried 4 of the desserts and shared. They were all good. Our service was great! The view cannot be praised enough! I grew up in the mountains of Floyd County and believe it to be one of the most beautiful places there is. Note: the Sangria was very refreshing and delicious. I highly recommend it, especially if you visit on a hot day."

  • "We went on a Sunday for brunch on the Sunday live music. The brunch was good, great outdoor music and casual atmosphere. We also did the wine tasting, Alex was wonderful at explaining all the wines and accommodating us. We will defiantly return for the Sunday music."

  • "We are huge fans of Chateau Morrisette and dine there frequently. Unfortunately, our experience at brunch this past week was not up to their usual standard. While the food was good, the service staff seemed to be struggling. The buffet was not being freshened regularly and as a result--was messy. The wait staff were slow, rude and unattentive--and some downright surly. Not what I expected at all and not a standard for this restaurant. We had encouraged friends to have brunch with us on Sunday, and had to apologize to them several times for the service. Very embarrassing."

  • "The Shrimp and grits entrée was the best I have ever had. We dined at the Chateau Morrisette for our forth ninth anniversary dinner. I do not know how the polenta was so light and fluffy, and the corn kernels in it tasted like sweet corn-on-the-cob kernels. The sauce for the shrimp and meat was just the right amount of spiciness, with the cream to make it rich. My husband had the pork roll filled with sweet potato and some greens. Pork is his favorite meat and it was moist, tender and delicious. He was also impressed with the taste of the baby carrots, maybe they were roasted. As a former HE teacher and food contest judge, I would give this meal a blue ribbon!"

The wine list comprises their own Virginia wines which are good. The food and service are always outstanding. We would certainly make the drive just for the food but the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is absolutely breathtaking. A truly wonderful experience!"

The staff was great and the food was fantastic. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view with a glass of their Chardonnay.   • "We love this restaurant for regular meals. However, this was a Sunday buffet which I think is a regular affair for Sundays. My husband and I do NOT like buffets but thought as Morrisette is fine with regular meals that the buffet might be good. Not so. With buffet, tip, and a bottle of wine, our total was about 80.00. Not acceptable. We will not be coming for Sunday brunch and will not recomment it to friends. We would recommend the restaurant for regular means but this review is for the Father's Day Sunday brunch."

  • "Food is always good. Atmosphere on older dining rooms is great. The high ceiling newer dining room can be noisy. We were the last table in the high ceiling room to finish our meal. A hamburger ordered medium rare that arrived medium well (no pink at all). Shrimp and grits that had, again, unremarkable flavor with just a few small pieces of shrimp. This restaurant continues to change menus, etc.; and unfortunately, the changes are for the worse."

We actually had asked if we could be escorted out another way as our nephews wedding was at the same time we were eating and we had our reservations before they set the location of the wedding. The server quickly obliged us and took us out another way as to not be seen. It was my husbands birthday and we just wanted to be alone. I greatly appreciate the measures you all took in ensuring our privacy and making it an enjoyable evening. The food was awesome for dinner and the brunch the next day. Thank you so much."

  • "This place is a lot of fun. Kid friendly and dog friendly. The tour is so-so. You basically walk into two different rooms but they give some interesting background to the winery. The wine is pretty good and the restaurant is fantastic. The meals are very good and the staff is knowledgeable about pairings and about the sourcing of the food. Thanks for a great experience, CM!!"

  • "Such a nice place to break up a road trip. Lunch and then a visit to the winery. Clear summer day, great view of the Blue Ridge mountains, and good food. Only had soup & salad, but the onion soup was fine, carrot-ginger bisque as well. Spinach salad & mixed greens were well done. Glass of their dry rose went well with this lunch."

  • "Food and service was excellent. Smoked chicken was outstanding with an excellent taste. Tenderloins were well seasoned and also very good. Unable to visit winery as it closed a 5. Only times I saw on the web site stated 9 but that was restaurant. Wine choice was good. Chose the Red Mountain Laurel. Only issue was flies and knats bothering us and food and we were inside. Otherwise it was worth the 2 hour drive we made."

  • " We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating with a pristine view of the Virginia mountain range prior to and at sunset. Though umbrellas covered each table there is no way to view the mountains as the sun declines the sky without "getting in your eyes"! Waiter was very knowledgeable about food and drink offerings, making very useful and helpful suggestions. Service staff also very efficient, friendly and accommodating. Overall, and excellent, relaxing evening."

  • "The hostess left us standing at her desk for a long time. When we were seated, we waited forever and had to ask for menus. Food was ok but I won't drive an hour again to eat there. We weren't asked if we wanted separate checks til after the meal then the waiter split the check four ways which was not equitable since one of us had a muc more expensive meal. Only good part was the scenery from outside tables. Salad was very small. Nothing to write home about. "
