A word from Chasin' Tails
Crawfish, a staple of Louisiana seafood, attracts thousands of visitors each year from all over the country to the region. The traditional Cajun way of serving crawfish is adding a special mix of homemade, southern style boil’s seasoning to a batch of crawfish. The boil is drained and dumped right onto the table. This style of food brings about a fun, social atmosphere for family and friends to gather during meal time. Add some beers and football and you have the perfect ingredients for a great time enjoyed by all. Our concept is centered around fun, friends, family and food. Utensils are discouraged. Getting hands on is encouraged. Crawfish are our mainstay, but we offer a good variety of seafood including shrimp, oysters, crab, and fish. Feel free to drop by anytime for to watch a game, enjoy good food and a few drinks!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I liked the seafood and ordered the salad. It was way too much food. Next time, I will order off the regular menu."

  • "Yum, yum, and more yum! The dinner was wonderful as always. One little hickup with a leaky fish bowl, but the wait staff quickly resolved the issue and we have a blast. "

  • "We had a wonderful time! Not only was our food fabulous and very flavorful the entire staff was polite and helpful. We will definitely be returning in the near future! Parking is kind of a pain, but it was well worth it! "

  • "we ordered drinks and when we were ready to order our dozen crabs, the waiter just said oh sorry we dont have any! I was dissapointed since we had already ordered our drinks and were ready for a feast. Why wouldnt the waitress mention this when handing out the menu, as most restaurants do when certains foods are not available? we were super hungry! so we had to finish our margaritas and head to DC. In the mean time, the tables outside were uneven, our drinks fell and service did not seem to care. Definitely a bad first impression. Had heard so much about this place and was really excited to try it, unfortunately, did not go as expected."

  • "I found this place by accident on the web. What a great find! The service was great the food was better. We were very pleased with the prices as well. You get plenty of food for the money. Id have to say the catfish was my favorite that came with the sweet potatoe fries. Our waitress was pleasant and stayed on top of us with our deinks and requests. The owner visited which is always a plus for us. Cant wait to go back!"

  • "Food was excellent. Really enjoyed our dinner. Wait staff and management were excellent. Will definitely be back."

  • "I am a die hard garlic shrimp lover so you make want to take my review with a grain of "garlic". I am pretty easy when it comes to garlic shrimp. I love Hot n Juicy in DC and to find Chasin Tails just 5-10 minutes from my house was a gold mine. And my two daughters absolutely loved it. We went for Sunday lunch and it was a great family outing. It was beautiful weather too. The only downfall is parking and my girls didn't like that the shrimp weren't deveined. All in all, a great find."

  • "Tried this on a friend's recommendation. Highlights were: mussels & clams. About half of my shrimp were mushy. Should have told the manager but I didn't. Cooking everything in plastic bags freaks me out (health concerns over dangers of BPA) so likely won't go back. But I can see why this place is popular. Fun choosing your seafood and then your sauce. I chose Cajun for the shrimp and it was the right way to go."

  • "For those who want a taste of Nawlins you can't beat this spot. They actually have crawfish - wonderful crawfish. And beignets! The fried food was fresh - not oily or overly salty. The gator was tasty. The snow crab legs were large and meaty and cooked perfectly. (Slightly pricey but we didn't care) The etouffee had a unique taste that actually rivals anything I've had in my travels south. A true gem. Can't wait to go back and try the gumbo."

  • "i love the shrimps and crab legs. they tasted sweet and fresh. definitely worth it."

  • "My family and I ate here on a Thursday night. The service was great. My husband is from Louisiana and loves crawfish, he thought that the crawfish at Chasin Tales was the best away from home. Overall, had an excellent meal at Chasin Tales, the gumbo is also delicious."

  • "Because of my reservations I was seated immediately. The food was extremely fresh and prices were extremely moderate! Although I wish there were more desert options the ones they did have were tasty! Oh and I did appreciate the off street garage parking and entrance!"

  • "The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Will definitely re-visit in the near future!"

  • "The food is always very good at Chasin' Tails, but this time the service was horrible. Our waiter never brought utensils to eat the crabs and disappeared for large chunks of time repeatedly. Luckily another waiter refilled our drinks or else we would have had nothing to drink the whole meal."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Had the snow crab legs with garlic butter and medium heat, so delicious, couldnt get enough. A bit pricey, but worth it. I'll definately be back."

  • "Loved the shrimp in the Oh Dang sauce. Fun place, great food."

  • "It was me and my girls first time there, I really enjoyed the food but she LOVED it. We will be going back very soon; she named it her favorite restaurant. I haven't had crawfish that was prepared that well since I was in the army stationed in Louisiana."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "Me and my girlfriend were looking so forward to checking out this restaurant. We had a limited stay because my girlfriend got a pretty bad nose bleed. We hope to return real soon. King crab legs were excellent. Took the crawfish to go, and they were very tasty too"

  • "My family and I went there last night for my bday dinner. It was kid friendly and the food was great. My friends have posted many pictures of the food on Facebook before and I wanted to try it. We were not disappointed. They even brought out a special dessert with ice cream and the waiters all came and sang happy bday. It was a great night. My kids loved drawing on the paper on too."

  • "I went with 3 friends and we all loved it. The mussels, crawfish, gator bites, and jambalaya was excellent. We have found a new favorite place and can't wait to tell the rest of our friends. Eating with your fingers (except the salad and jambalaya) was real fun. Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. This was our first time, but will definitely not be our last. The food and atmosphere was a real treat."

  • "The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was very good, although it did take a while to get our food. If you are a seafood lover, I would recommend this place. Although, the King Crab legs were ridiculously priced!"

  • "I've lived in the south most of my life--Texas, Louisiana--and I know a thing or two about crawfish boils. This place will definitely satisfy my hunger for some good boiled seafood! I was very pleased with my meal, the shrimp boil with andouille sausage added for an extra charge (it doesn't come in bags smaller than 2 lbs). The fried green tomatoes were delicious as well and so were the sweet potato fries. the other diner with me had the fried catfish and was VERY pleased. I will be back!! A lot!"

  • "I purchased a living social deal for this restaurant and was truly eager to use it! No idea what was in store but I most definitely enjoyed everything about the place from the service food and drinks. The best touch was the young maybe 20's something owner stopping by every table chatting with patrons asking them of their opinions of the place and the LS Deal. He stated that their main focus is customer service so if anything is ever no to a customers standards he will right the wrong immediately! That's something you don't see in food & beverage a lot! I had a great time and will be back soon!"

  • "We bought a voucher from one of the daily deal sites to try Chasin' Tails. We ordered 2lbs of crawfish, 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of clams. The food was good, albeit messy (ask for a bib). We thought it was a little pricey for what you got but it was tasty. Without the voucher we wouldn't have gone. And, we probably won't be back - it's a novel idea and fun to try ... but after you've had the experience the novelty wears off."

  • "A very busy place that serves food that (for the most part) you eat with your hands. Definitely go casual. The crayfish were delicious as was everything else we tried. We went here to celebrate an event and it was just great. Would definitely recommend."

  • "As always, food and service were great! This time we did have a six year old with us, but there was plenty to choose/customize for the little guy."

  • "Prior to eating at Chasin Tails my experience has been up and down up to this point. Valentines day especially wasn't good because of anything in particular but the crawfish that we had...was undeniably good. One of the better experiences I've had with crawfish. I don't know if they gave a little more effort in regards to preparing the food, but whatever the reason, it was it was exquisite, no complaints on my end."

  • "Chasin' Tails is perfect for down and gritty seafood lovers. Your hands are going to smell of garlic butter for a couple of days but it's worth it. Light on veggies and salads, but they really overdo it with their seafood selections. We had shrimp and mussels and both were fabulous. You have to get the french bread, though, to sop up the sauce. This is a fun restaurant that is good for a change. By the way, we went for a birthday and the beignets were delightful too!"

  • "Chasin' Tails is my neighborhood seafood restaurant & it is an amazing gem. I discovered it last summer, just passing by. Since then, I've been back every month & exposed it to >10 of my friends. The food is always good, fresh, amply portioned, for sharing. The customer service is always exceptional. The wait staff is very attentive, personable, & friendly. Be sure to leave room to finish with their amazing beignets, almost as good as Cafe du Monde's in New Orleans!"

  • "Repeat diner. Just an awesome spot with delicious seafood and banging cajuin fries. Order the bags, fried seafood, gator bites, and dessert. Avoid the crayfish Mac and cheese"

  • "I moved to Maryland from New Orleans in 2001. I took my co-workers to the Chasin Tails because they never ate New Orleans' foods before. I took my co-workers because we wanted to surprise one of my co-worker's birthday. She said she missed seafood so much. She wants to go back to the restaurant in the future. I would recommond to this restaurant to anybody who loves seafood."

  • "The steamed shrimp was excellent, and the sheer variety on the menu was terrific. Service was also great. We had a group of six and all thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. It was more than food, it was fun."

  • "This Vietnamese-style "Cajun" restaurant is good - but does not compare to the REAL CAJUN and New Orleans Cuisine that it attempts to dish out. The seasoning is more Thai than Cajun (I also lived in Thailand) - and the serving portions have gotten smaller over the past three times I have been there. One Pound of boiled Shrimp (or Clams, or Mussels, or Crawfish) SHOULD BE one pound - well it just is not ... in fact it continues to get SMALLER than the first time I went there almost a year ago. This translates that the cost of the meal is not really worth the size of the meal. The same is true for the fried dishes - which are smaller - while the serving of fries got larger to compensate for the smaller fried dishes."

  • "Really good Cajun food. Rare to find fresh crawfish, shrimp, lobster and crab legs served in traditional Cajun style. As a good 'ole boy from Louisiana, I can really appreciate this. Will definitely return."

  • "Afun dining experience! Mixed food reviews, gumbo was not very good at all, too much rice not enough "real" reaux! Jambalaya wasn't good at all! Fried shrimp and cajun fries were outstanding! The shrimp in bags were also fantastic! We would def. go back to try more food!"

  • "As a first time visitor to Chasin Tails, I was looking forward to some good southern fried catfish filets, but was dismayed to see the filets are flour breaded instead of cornmeal breaded. While it didn't taste bad it just tasted bland. When the manager came by and asked how our meal was. I told him about the blandness of the catfish. He was nice enough to take it off my bill. AWESOME! That alone will have me coming back to Chasin Tails. The fried shrimp and the cajun fries were both excellent! I'll be back."

  • "Brought my parents here for a new eating experience. They'd never had crawfish and it was fun digging in together into the bag of tasty seafood. Would definitely go back. I just wish my crab legs cracked easily. They were hard to open because you couldn't crack them. They just bent really easily. Get ready to get messy!"
