The view at the Chart House is amazing, but the food and service are incredibly lacking. This restaurant touts the Landry name and claims to be a seafood restaurant. I had ordered a seafood dish, and 45 minutes later (after our appetizers and soup had arrived), my server informed me the restaurant was out of that item. The next two seafood menu items I requested were also out of stock. I ended up with Surf and Turf, which was $40 for pot roast-like meat and two undercooked scallops. My husband and I spent $200 on a meal on the same level as a Luby's Cafeteria. Additionally, the music was too loud for the atmosphere and some the other customers were allowed to be loud and disruptive.

I was pleased to discover that it was possible to make reservations at the Tower for dinner. We were in town only for one night and I wanted to have a special night with my kids. It was so easy to make the reservation online and when we got there, it was straight to our table. Our server was attentive and the food excellent. Thanks for a great evening!

My wife and I went to the Chart House for our 16th wedding anniversary. From the time we arrived at the base of the tower until the time we left we were treated very well. The wine was excellent, food was perfect, and our waiter Javier was Great. The view at night is really something to see. I have lived in San Antonio for over 30 years and never been up in the Tower of the Americas. This was a great experience and would recommend to anyone wanting a place to celebrate a special occasion.

I was very impressed with the 2 young ladies that greeted us. They greeted me by name, explained that they were familiar with my requests due to my notes that were submitted online. Our waiter was very polite. Congratulated my girlfriend for graduating from Army advanced individual training. To top it off "Chart House Congratulates You on Your Graduation" was printed on the menu. Thank you for providing an enjoyable and personable experience!

    - The hostess was curt and unwelcoming - We were asked two extra times after checking in if we had a reservation (we did) - Waiter was pleasant fellow, but we waited long periods - Ordered 3 different wines because they were "out" of each but didn't know til after leaving each time - My fork tongs were severely bent - The bread didn't arrive until the entrees nearly did - The kitchen messed up my date's order and the correct entree didn't arrive until after I ate - The server asked my date if she wanted the wrong entree since it was already made! - Our waiter tried to ask us to identify who brought the wrong entree like we would know??? The waiter did apologize for the long waits and poor experience. Maybe it was just a bad night?

Brought in a fellow minister/Army Reserve vet/27yrs. He was not sent off properly. I presented him a shadow box/his wife a US flag. This coupled w/the view and customer service made it memorable. The staff was very supportive in making this happen! Our waitress Monique was awesome and very patient with our request. The evening was flawless. They also had their daughters with them who are my beautiful nieces. It was also about exposing them to something beyond the basic night out.

We had a terrific time and I would absolutely go back! There's no other place like this in San Antonio, and we always have a great time. That being said, we ordered a bottle of wine and we received something slightly different. That was frustrating given the cost, but we'd still go back since the service is great overall.

We went to the Chart House for our anniversary. The view was fantastic and the food was great. Quail appetizer, Seabass with crab and Teriaki Serloin for entrees, and cremé brûlée for dessert. All very delicious and well prepared. Service was poor. When we arrived, out sever took our napkins and said that she would get us black linens and would be right back. 15 min later we had to ask for napkins, and she blamed someone else for not bringing them. Overall, she was mildly rude, argued with the other server who was paired with her the entire time, and absent minded. She was so interested in leaving that she reached across the table to get the check that I purposefully placed in between us before we were done with our coffee.

My husband and i and 4 of our friends enjoyed a fantastic dinner here on a saturday night. the lighting was a little dark but at the same we didnt mind because it added a romantic feel to it which is fine with 3 married couples who enjoyed a sun set dinner and a beautiful view. The staff was absolutely amazing, we had a wonderful waiter who got our dry sense of humor and didn't have a problem joking right back with us. He was even generous enough to take us up to the observation deck since it closed while we waited for our dessert to come out. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will be thoroughly amused and wont be disappointed.

The service is great. A great spot to relax, have some good food and enjoy SAs view from above. Management needs to be more personable when addressing customers, specially when addressing the serving of raw/uncooked food. Even the waitress did better apologizing for the mishap. A bit expensive. Best view of the city of San Antonio, for birthday or ultra romantic evening. The shrimp, brie and artichoke melt appetizer was the best dish we ordered. The Wild Mushroom Merlot Medallion and Shrimp, and The Macadamia encrusted Mahi were both good, overpriced for good. The wine selection is affordable with a few expensive choices in the mix. The St. Michelle Riesling I had is pleasing and can be found in my refrigerator. My girlfriend's food was served cold. They 100 percent corrected the mistake with a new plate of hot food, a chocolate lava dessert on the house and her meal came complementary on the final bill. 15% tip quality service. Not a place for a foodie to rave about the food. I would not hesitate to go again for the right occasion.

My wife and I ate here last week during our San Antonio vacation. First, the view of the city is spectacular. Unfortunately, it seems that the restaurant is relying on that to mask the fact that the food and service are sub par. I really didn't need to know that my waiter likes to go to 6th street in Austin so he can get drunk at the bars. The food is also quite substandard. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was crusty on the outside and still frozen on the inside. I realize that some of the fish comes in frozen, but at least make the effort to try and fool me. I've eaten at the Chart House on New Jersey and the one on Longboat Key, and the San Antonio location makes a mockery of the other top notch restaurants in the chain.

The Service was very Good but we have for the second time a problem with the person in the front desk and downstairs. Every time we got there they said that they not understand our last name, even we spelled to them. I suggest to you to tell to those Person to be more kind with the people especially if they are foreigners because you give the bad impression like a great restaurant in San Antonio. More professionalism next time. Thank you. PS. please if they speak Two languages like english and spanish tell them to don't makes a dumb.....

We had a 5pm reservation on a Monday and were seated immediately because it was empty. The restaurant only had a couple other tables for a good while after we arrived. The service was good but the food was not that great. I had crab stuffed fish and my husband has salmon. Everything was very dry and bland. The kids had shrimp dishes and loved them. I would only recommend it for the view and experience of having been there, not for the food! I did like that they did print a special bday dinner menu for my daughter. On top of the menu they wished her a happy birthday. That was an unexpected great little detail for her and we loved it!

Good day! I am the mother of the sweet groom, Troy, who was given a gift certificate to your place for his honeymoon dinner. Unfortunately, he did not get to use it. Upon their arrival at the restaurant, they were told there had been a power outage and were closed. My son and his bride were spending their first night as a married couple in San Antonio and were very disappointed. The gift certificate was for $125.00 and was to be a wonderful and romantic evening for them...but it did not happen. Now, they will have to plan another trip to San Antonio, which will require more cost to them for hotel and traveling, and as we all know, newlyweds are generally broke. So we are unsure if they will ever get to use their gift.

We were so excited to celebrate our 28th anniversary at the Chart House/Tower of the Americas in San Antonio. Wanted to see great sunset. When we arrived, there was a crowded lobby and come to find out that the tower had no power. The elevators were stuck with people in them and no service up in the restaurant. Diners were stuck there too! For hours! We waited hoping power would be restored. It wasn't. A very nice lady at reception was about to turn us away but we asked if she could get us reservations, as late as it was, at Landry's Seafood on the Riverwalk. She did. She was great! But we are still talking about our disappointing night.
