Food was good and the view was spectacular. My only complaint was the waitress brought out our entrees shortly after we started on our appetizers. Also, during dessert I waited a long time for her to bring me coffee. We were long done with out chocolate lava cake when my coffee finally arrived.

If you enjoy doing the tourist thing with view of San Antonio instead of fine dining, its ok then. The food was good and served fast, but too fast. The server was in a hurry the entire time and we were there at 6pm, place was empty (but started filling up quick). As soon as we sat down the rush began "can I put in your App order?" That type of thing. Server got the order wrong, forgot one salad and brought the wrong entre out to my wife. Sea bass instead of sword fish. Server never bothered to say anything to us until check arrived, "oh we ran out of the sword fish (at 6pm?) Poor wine service by server (not her assistant) poured Jordan Cab like was water filling up glass almost to top. Can you say hurry up and turn over my table?

We chose the Chart House for our anniversary dinner and a great choice it was. The view from the tower is fantastic- and all the tables are placed to take advantage of the view. I had the prime rib, the horseradish sauce could have been stronger but the meat was perfect. My wife had the crab stuffed shrimp at the recommendation of our waiter and it was equally delicious. At $150 for dinner with a bottle of wine its not cheap- but not the most expensive either. Well worth it for a special occasion.

I made our reservation online through OpenTable with a note that we would be celebrating my wife's birthday. We were seated and given a personalized menu with a birthday wish. Being at a restaurant in the sky is well worth the trip but the food and service were outstanding. I had the Prime Rib, she had the Snapper Hemingway and both are recommended. For dessert the Chocolate Lava Cake was decorated with 'Happy Birthday' and was great! They went above and beyond to make ours a special occasion. This was a Tuesday so it wasn't as busy but suggest arriving early and planning on a long meal, why rush when you can enjoy the view from the top? Hemisfair park is great for pictures beforehand and being early means less stress parking, etc.

My wife and I went up to the Chart House for the view and lunch. We were amazed when we tried the Shrimp, Brie & Artichoke Melt appetizer along with the Kale Salad. Because of the wonderful view and the amazing flavors of our meal we decided to go back for a second time for our final San Antonio meal before heading back home.

I tried this restaurant as a visitor to San Antonio as a couples get away with my hubby. When I visited their website, it was apparent a reservation was needed so I made one. It also mentioned there was a dress code. When we arrived, we were a whole our early and they accommodated us quickly. That was a big plus! As far as the food was, we were very pleased. It was definitely options that are not served every where else. We had the spring roll appetizer, the shrimp artichoke linguine which was excellent, followed by the caramel cheese cake. It was very evident though that there was not a a dress code. I think that really took away from the experience I was seeking. Smart casual it definitely not wasn't which took that romantic feel away.

The view is great that is a given. The restaurant itself looks a bit old and rundown, it could use a refurbish or even a thorough cleaning of floors, furniture, walls and fixtures would go a long way. The food was okay, not bad and not oh-my-goodness great either and the entrée portions were on the lite side, also they had run out of the house specialty salad early in the evening, this is odd to me. I suppose they cannot make the restaurant adult only although the ambiance is spoiled by the loud noises of children. So, if you want a venue for an adult special occasion or a romantic dinner this probably isn't the place for it.

The view from the restaurant was spectacular, reservations worked got seated right away! I would recommend getting there a few minutes early the elevator takes some time. The food is good really, really enjoyed the teryaki steak, would recommend changing the fingerling potatoes for anything else cause they are pretty flavorless.

Food cooked perfectly, service good, view spectacular over the flat terrain of southern Texas. I highly recommend CH for all, but in particular, for a special occasion to celebrate.

My daughter and I were walking downtown and decided to go to the Tower for lunch. Wow! It was excellent. We used Open Table to get a last minute reservation. The restaurant turns while eating. It was fantastic. The food was above anything else (pun intended). But seriously, I had the seafood fondu. I was very impressed. My daughter had the chocolate cake. To be honest, she did not like it. She said it was too sweet, but that is like saying your champaign is too chilled. :) I thought that the entire experience was top notch. The waiter, I apologize to him because I cannot remember his name, was outstanding. No hurry. No "you did not buy enough." We were treated very well. I highly recommend this place.

Food: Filet Mignon: It was dried, maybe was prepared hours before and only heated to serve... Risotto: also was prepared hours before, dried and cold It´s urgently review the quality of food. I don´t mind to pay U$100/person by a dinner, but the food needs to be wonderful. Changing subject, when the waiters walk on the floor, the noise level is high ans uncomfortable ... On the other hand, good wines, wonderful view.

We have been going to chart house for every family birthday/ special occasion for the last few years and the food quality is getting worse and worse. My steak was over cooked and my new one didn't arrive until the rest if our party was finished eating. We couldn't get the asparagus appetizer because it "wasn't ready" for another 30 minutes. We paid nearly $30 for a small piece of dry fish (blackened mahi) and a scoop of rice. Really? We will not be returning to chart house or any Landry restaurants for our special occasions. Service was too slow, waiter spilled soda on my wife.

Friends from UK visited so we took them to this iconic place, and had high expectations. We were surprised that some diners were allowed in shorts and jeans for dinner seating. More importantly 3 of the 4 entrees came out at the same time whereas mine was lagging behind by 20 minutes. By the time it arrived everyone else was almost dome and I filled up on tasters from the other plates. The worst part was that the top of the soufflé that I ordered fell off en route to the table and laid by the soufflé dish on the plate. It was a sorry site. The waiter apologized but offered no other help. The view is nice. It was an expensive meal but they are not hard pressed to go out of their ways to please the customers, there's always a lot of people.

The view is wonderful, and Tanner our waiter was great, but the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. From the time we ordered till our food came out of the kitchen was an hour and 15 minutes. When the food did come out the sea bass was fabulous, but the medium rare prime rib I ordered came out well done. Cooked completely through with no sign of pink any where. Tanner was gracious enough to take it back and bring another piece. This one was closer to rare, but acceptable, but it was one of the toughest pieces of meat I've ever been served. It was almost 10:00 PM by then, and we were ready to leave. My wife and I had a great view, and thankfully she ordered the sea bass, bu the dining experience was not good.

Restaurant food okay, service was very good, but the view was spectacular. It was our first visit to San Antonio, and the rotating restaurant gave us a good layout as to where we would find everything we wanted to see. If we couldn't actually see it, the staff would point it out to us. We were not rushed out of the restaurant.

Saturday night reservations for 2 adults and 2 kids. We were seated fairly fast and the server was very nice. Ordered starters and main, calamari starter sent back because it was cold and definitely came out of a frozen bag, crab avocado stack was presented well but devoid of any seasoning or taste. Mains -"fresh" Alaskan halibut - also frozen and cooked to the point of rubber also sent back, crab cakes were some sort of patty with what we think had the same ingredients as the stack. Kids got coconut shrimp deep fried to death, not edible. All in all dropped almost $200 didn't get to eat except for the free lava cake, also frozen! 1 step above buffet quality at 4 star prices. People should not accept this kind of quality!

We only had one glitch that could have ruined the evening; while enjoying her entree my sister had a thumb tack in her food. Thank you as well. I was looking forward to my daughter's name to be listed on the menu and asked several times even the morning of the reservation it would be done. Once we receive our menus I asked where the name was. The guy said he did not know and would look into it since the printer was having issues...he never came back. Also the option of picking a birthday treat would be nice. Once again Thank you. The view was amazing and she got her birthday request.

I'm from San Antonio and first time dining at Chart. As you can see we enjoyed our visit. Food was really good, 4 stars on food because although steak was perfect it wasn't a Teriyaki steak to me. I have to say that we're not really big fans of Landry's. Several other restaurants here in San Antonio and Orlando have not come close to Chart. But this had the 360/550 foot high up in the sky scenery along with good food an service! This is a must try, I recommend 6pm this way you get a good view of the day, sunset, then night time views, enjoy!

This is the second time we have eaten here. The first time was great. Good service, good food, great view. This time the view is the only thing that was great. We waited about 10 minutes to have out drink order taken and then it took about 15 minutes to get my sons dr. Pepper. The food wasn't anything to write home about and our server kept getting lost. We had to get up and find her twice. Not what we expect from such an expensive restaurant. That will probably be our last time there. Ruth's Chris has way better food and service!

The view at the Chart House is amazing, but the food and service are incredibly lacking. This restaurant touts the Landry name and claims to be a seafood restaurant. I had ordered a seafood dish, and 45 minutes later (after our appetizers and soup had arrived), my server informed me the restaurant was out of that item. The next two seafood menu items I requested were also out of stock. I ended up with Surf and Turf, which was $40 for pot roast-like meat and two undercooked scallops. My husband and I spent $200 on a meal on the same level as a Luby's Cafeteria. Additionally, the music was too loud for the atmosphere and some the other customers were allowed to be loud and disruptive.

I went to the Tower of America's to celebrate my bf's birthday and her going away to the AmeriCorp for a year. The only thing she asked of me was to request a table close to the window. My SO and I arrived early to secure this table and when I tried to request it upon arrival, I suppose I was misunderstood. I asked the server when she came to greeted us and she said she would see what she could do. And though we were moved out of her section, she still very polite. I could tell the hostesses where annoyed which I felt was a little unnecessary. When someone makes a request and tries to be patient when their request is ignored, it's definitely is unfair for the hostess to have attitudes about. Other then that, we have a fantastic time.

Food was good, not real hot temperature wise. Service could have been better. Dishes were creative and unique! Good flavors!
