  • "We hadn't been out there for months. The service is fine and the view is spectacular. Nevertheless, there is a smell in the carpet pretty ugly and the meat I got (Ribe eye) was awful."

  • "Went for Easter Brunch and the food was very good, and the staff was very friendly and attentive..all of them from the table bussers to the servers. Great view even on a drizzly day!"

  • "I love the Chart House Restaurant, however I will not return for a buffet. The staff was super. The taste of the food was average. The buffet stands were difficult to get to carrying heavy plates. Many stations were not of Chart House standards. Food was on the floor, and not replenished in a timely manner. For me this makes me lose my appetite. The seating was awkward. My daughter and I were seated with our backs to the aisle, so every time we had to get up we bumped into someone. I moved to the end of a 4 seat table, there were 3 of us, to avoid this but the table was so long it felt like I was not sitting with family and could not hear most of the conversation. Frustrating to say the least."

  • "Overcooked, underwhelming and poorly executed Easter Brunch. This place falls short of the other "Chart House" restaurants visited and was a disappointing dining experience. "

  • "This was my wife's first time in San Antonio so I booked us for a dinner at the ToA. It was nice to do one time. The food was just ok not great but over all we had an enjoyable time and a great view of the city at sunset."

  • "We had a 7:00 reservation and after checking in were forgotten about and had a couple other poeople seated before us and had to point that out to the attendant. Other than that the rest of the nigt was awesome. The food was great and the window view was just as great. Would definately return with friends. "

  • "We had a table of noisy kids nearby. Wish they would go to McDonalds after 7pm so we could have a more adult atmosphere."

  • "This experience was absolutely horrible. The food taste like it was previously frozen. The beverages were stale and tasted as if the had tap water added to them. The dessert took 45 minutes to be prepared and was grotesque. I paid $103 for a party of 3. Never again!"

  • "I loved every minute of my stay at Chart House in Tower of the Americas. What an incredible experience and easily the most amazing dining experience to date. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, service was attentive and personal, and the view just spectacular. I've already recommended the restaurant to friends and look forward to returning."

  • "This is a tourist trap pretending to be a high end restaurant. Someone should tell the owners that just because your restaurant sits 700 feet in the air and charges ridiculous prices doesn't mean that the staff and cleaning crew don't matter. Not once did I see any of the staff smile or show any appreciation for their customers. The sides of the walls near the windows were covered in spots and stains from what must have been cleaning liquid. As for the food, the prime rib was tough and looked like a scrap piece meant to be thrown away. The waitress suggested a mango chutney be added to the entree but neglected to mention that their would be an additional charge. Is the view worth spending almost $100 for a meal from a cheap diner?"

  • "Everything about the restaruant was wonderful. The wait staff was very helpful in answering questions about the menu and were very attentive to our table needs. The New York strip steak that I had was one of the best and my wife had the chicken dish (can't remember what it was) and raved about it. It was my wife's birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a wonderful dining experience with great food and service."

  • "Yes we spent 3 hours for dinner. Some of the entres were cold.. Not once did our waitress say "your food should be out soon". A couple whp were seated after our party ate andleft before we were served. My entre was done with the "wrong shrimp" and I had to wait for that to be corrected."

  • "This was possibly the most romantic dinner my husband & I have ever had. We were very impressed when, after being seated, we were handed our menus and at the top of them was printed 'HAPPY 36TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY"! I almost cried - I was deeply moved at how considerate they had been! The night view was spectacular! The atmosphere was cozy and private at our table for 2 by the window. The crab cakes were divine and my husband said that his prime rib steak was perfect. The waitress made wonderful suggestions from the wine list and was very attentive during the meal without "hovering" over us. She gave us just the right amount of "alone time". We will be back!!!!"

  • "We went to Chart House to celebrate my 89 year old father's second anniversary to his new wife. It was a wonderful evening, with excellent food. We had a large group (9), and my dad is in a wheelchair, and they were very gracious, gave us a nice table with a great view. Also had special menus with Anniversary Dinner printed on them. They also gave the "newlyweds" a free dessert and wished them a Happy Anniversary. "

  • "The fact that we were able to check out the menu before we reserved was great. We knew that we wanted the King Salmon dish. As one of the party needed to be gluten free, the restaurant was extremely accommodating. We both ordered the King Salmon special and the kitchen recognized the gluten free requirement, gave both of us mashed potatoes rather than one mashed patotoes and the other a rice pilaf. Very much appreciated! The dessert, the MoltenLava cake with vanilla ice cream for the person without gluten allergies was FANTASTIC! A must dessert. As I am from Canada, a wonderful experience that I will cherish for decades. Only suggestion, is that the website needs to indicate which credit cards are accepted."

  • "Our family lived in San Antonio around 40 years ago when my husband was stationed at Lackland AFB. Except for my youngest son, we never made a visit to the Alamo or to this restaurant. The River Walk was just being built. My daughters and I returned April 2014 to visit San Antonio again and to see the Alamo, eat at the Chart House, and ride the barge on the River Walk!. I noticed that San Antonio has grown, the highway network has expanded, and drivers drive faster! I appreciated being able to make reservations online before we left Ohio. We had a great time and a memorable lunch at the Chart House. Our meal was excellent and our outstanding server was Stephen/Steven."

  • "I really liked the food we had at the Chart House, but I loved the spectacular rotating view of the city of San Antonio. The city was alive with the start of Fiesta. and people were coming to an event at the Alamodome. The panaramic scene helped me better understand the layour of such a beautiful city and I was able to follow the curves and turms of the Riverwalk. My wife and I did eat a great meal. She had Salmon and I had the steak. I know she loved how her salmon was prepared. Then we had the chocolate dessert. The cake/brownie part of the dessert was tremendous (real chocalately). Our server did a great job of making us comfortable and helped spot many of the tourist highlights for us. She also made several wonderful recommendations."

  • "This restaurant has completed changed me and my wife's life forever. We expected it to be nice but we did did not expect for it to completely knock our shoes off. Food great atmosphere great and trying to top this next year is going to be incredibly challenging so I guess we will have to just go back again. To tell you the truth we will actually be returning next month for my wife's birthday. Signing off Mr. Yum Yum"

  • "We went to Chart H for lunch & it was a disaster from the minute we stepped off of the elevator. There wasn't 1 person waiting & when I told my bf that I was going to use the restroom prior to being seated, the hostess snapped at me & told me that she was going to seat me now. 1) no lunch menu on weekends which I was not informed of when I made a reservation; 2) ordered the Gorgonzola salad - it came out w/dressing, the pecans were soggy & salad was rust brown & slimy! The replacement salad was not much better aside from it now had dressing. We didn't eat it & waiter still charged us. The sides were bland & all of the food was cold. The one redeeming quality is that the view is absolutely spectacular - go get a drink & leave."

  • "We took our girls (age 4 & 6) to dinner at Chart House since we knew they would enjoy the view. But not only did they enjoy the view, our waitress was very accommodating ensuring they had meals that were kid friendly yet healthy and also a yummy dessert of vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries. My husband and I also had a wonderful meal and thoroughly enjoyed the tuna and avocado appetizer. Great experience and we will definitely be back."

  • "Food was cold. Steak medallions cold and looked like they had been run over by a car. Saffron orzo was bland they crab meat looked like shredded crab. I will say the lava cake was good. Way over priced"

  • "I had the coconut shrimp entree with the Orzo. It was decent. I will probably get something different next time. I went during lunch on a Friday so it wasn't busy. But I had a lovely experience and the view is great!!"

  • "Our group of 5 all ordered different menu items and we were all totally wowed by the incredible flavors. Enrigue, our server, made the evening very special and his team was a weel oiled machine. The apple cosmo was a real treat. The Souffle (chocolate) was a light and tasty end to the evening."

  • "We were amazed at the variety and quality of the Happy Hour food & drink! What a deal!!!!! And you can order off the regular menu if you'd like. It was excellent!"

  • "Our reservation was 10pm and we were early at 930 and the lady at the counter said smugly " have a seat you will be set closer to 10pm" so we sat and waited after group after group got seated before us. we finally got sat at 1030pm then we were served and It just seemed the the waiter was ready to be off his shift as it seemed like the rest of the staff felt. Having worked in the customer service industry i know how important it is for the customer to not feel when the employee are ready to leave. It leaves a sour taste on the evening."
