Our waiter ws very good. He saw to al of out needs. The view from the tower was great. it is a little pricey, but the food was very good. View is great from this height, but not as spectacular as the Space Needle in Seattle or the Sydney Tower in Australia. Food was very good but wouldn't say exceptional by any means. I had prime rib. It was prepared very well - medium well. My server was great. The restaurant went out of its way to acknowledge our anniversary. When we entered, I was going to ask if we could be by the window so we could marvel at the view; but they already had us a table by the window with the most perfect view. The service was great, and the food overall was good. This was our first time visiting the Tower of Americas and The Chart House. The service from Cynthia and the other servers was the best ever! They even put a special note on our personalized menus wishing us a happy anniversary! Very impressive. The view of San Antonio was fabulous. I took my Mother here for Mothers Day and the food with the Chart House ownership the food is amazing. The finish of the restaurant is exceptional and the view is amazing. Our waiter was sweet and attentive but his uniform could have been more polished and the little details like service precision, silverware managenent, and lack of crumb blade usage were noticably lacking. I go there everytime i am in town NEVER been disappointed with anything. Wait staff do an excellent job with knowledge of menu, timing, and service. Chefs do wonderful in preparation and display of the food. Management even comes by to make sure everything is as you desire. I have eaten in lots of places. My mom is almost 57 and has lived in San Antonio all her life and has never gone. When I finally showed her her surprise she couldn't believe it. She was so happy!! From the moment we opened the door the hostess downstairs greeted us happily. Made us feel welcomed. Then when we got upstairs the hostess again welcomed us with a smile. Very friendly. The dinner was delicious. Our waiter was phenomenal. I can not remember his name, I'm very bad with names but he did a fantastic job. Made this night even more special for my mom and us. Thank y'all so much. I look forward to taking her back when I come home to visit again.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFor a Special San Antonio Treat...My wife and I spent our honeymoon in San Antonio years ago and had dinner at the Tower of the Americas restaurant. The restaurant has undergone some changes since then, as you might imagine, but the spectacular view, which changes throughout your dining experience, still brings a smile to our faces. The restaurant rotates as you dine, giving you a complete panorama of San Antonio while you dine! Best time to go in May is probably closer to 8pm so you can see the amazing sunset! Bar was great upstairs and they paged us on my phone when our table was ready. There is nothing on this menu that is shabby..all top notch food with a Texas chic/Oriental mix flavor. View spectacular, of course, but we could not get a cab to the rest!!! Apparently San Antonio has a shortage of cabs and when there are big events going on, good luck! So we had to walk in high heels and kept going the wrong way because the entrance is hard to find!! Upon leaving the rest, no idea where cabs wait to pick up people and it is not marked, so we almost lost cab going back to hotel!! It was a special night and the ambiance and food were perfect. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. We did have to wait a little long before our waiter first came to our table but other that that it was perfect. We were even sitting near a table with two young children but they were well behaved and enjoying the view as we were.
This is the 2nd time I have dined at chart house tower of Americas and the food has been amazing every time. Having said that, we were impressed with the quality of the food and service. Celebrated our wedding anniversary there Tuesday night. Excellent food from the appetizer to the dessert. Most impressed with the "surf & turf" of short ribs and scallops. Lounge was closed due to a private event, but that did not seem to impact the service or quality of the drinks. I took my mother to celebrate her 71st b-day to the Chart House Restaurant in San Antonio recommended by a friend that saw it online. This could not have been a better place to celebrate! The servers were absolutely magnificent in every sense of the word. They were able to change the selections to fit my mother's dietary needs. Just superb service all around! The ambiance and food were absolutely excellent. The ability to overlook Downtown San Antonio was quite fantastic for my mother that did not realize that the restaurant does a slow spin so that you see all aspects of Downtown San Antonio. However, the elevator ride was atrocious. On the first loading we exited the car before moving because the attendant overloaded the car. The second time we entered the car was better, but only because a supervisor had spoken to the attendant. The appetizer was great! The potatoes were very dry.
