  • go for the view, not the food (maybe happy hour?)

Loved the view, I was unimpressed with the food. We ordered some duck spring rolls. The duck was not flavorful, the dish that sounded exciting was disappointing. I ordered a Kale salad. The greens were light green, not rich dark green that is characteristic of fresh, good kale and the dressing was far too acidic for it to be enjoyable. My boyfriend ordered dijon pork loin, again, sounds good but in execution it was not very exciting. He ordered a moscow mule with some sort of berry flavoring in it--mostly ice and it tasted musty, quite disappointing for a $12 cocktail. My cocktail was good (had grapefruit vodka). The happy hour looked very reasonable and it sounded like there were a lot of people in the bar and they were enjoying themselves. Next time I go, I will go for the happy hour--reasonable prices on the food and drinks, nothing over $8. The view was fantastic. I'm guessing I was paying for the view and not quality food. I can make a far tastier meal than what I had at Chart House.

Easy to make reservations.. call or go online.. very simple.. Parking was excellent around the tower. We had reservations at 5pm and we arrived early so we went up to the lounge bar area and had a couple drinks and enjoyed the view. Dinner was very good, prime rib was outstanding, everything was delicious. Of course for someone like me on a budget, it was pricey but a special occasion. My wife and I ended up spending just over $100 and a bit more because we had drinks and desert.. Again, I wouldn't eat here every day but for a birthday, anniversary, special occasion, it's a nice place to eat and the service is excellent.

    Dined on 11/18/2014
Nice restaurant but it was freezing, we quickly ate our expensive dinner in a hurry just to get out of there, the temperature outside was cold and the restaurant had the air conditioning on, having a lightweight dress on I had cold air on me the entire meal and it was extremely uncomfortable and it ruined the entire meal and experience. What a shame because that was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trip. The food was good and our waiter was wonderful, he even offered me his jacket. Additionally we were sat in a area where two families were seated next to us with small noisy children, we weren't happy to be spending a lot of money and hearing whining kids at the next table.

this was our first time in San Antonio for our 28th wedding anniversary. the experience was good, the food was good in general. although I had the Surf and Turf, and the turf less than desirable. it looked and tasted like pot roast. the wait staff we had was great, very nice lady. we may visit again in the future to give it a second chance.

Everything was a great experience!! Our Waiter " Nick " was great.. I asked for a small flower arrangement along with a note and to my surprise everything is taken care of.. My fiancee was awestruck!! And the message was neatly put into our menus. We had a fabulous time!! Although the noise level is a little high due to people wanting to see the tower everything was GREAT!! We will definitely come again. If you are up in San Antonio.. make plans to visit with your sweetheart. The menu is great and the food is even Better!! Respectfully, David and Carlan.

Took my daughter her for a father -daughter date recently. It was the first time I'd been there in a few years. It may just be me, but I feel their menu and food quality has improved a lot. The lobster macaroni was delicious - even my daughter loved it. My scallops were also excellently prepared. Our server was busy but very attentive and had a good knowledge of the wine list. Will bring my wife here again one day soon.

Also, when I received the bill, it was the wrong one & the mgr. had to come out & explain the mix up & hopefully, I won't be charged twice.

Dined there with three others. All four had to return their entrees because over cooked. To the credit of this restaurant, both the server and lead chef jumped in and prepared new plates. However, even over cooked, the food was mediocre at best. Appetizers were fabulous. Very responsive service though really saved the evening.

My wife and I went to the Chart House to celebrate her birthday. Arrived early for our reservation (about 20 min) and was seated immediately. Nice atmosphere and food overall was good. Enjoyed an appetizer and then ordered a fish plate and steak plate along with a side (which we shared) of the lobster mac & cheese. Only disappointment was the steak. Ordered it medium well, and came out very well done. Should have sent it back but did not. Other than that, pleasant experience.

My wife and I went on a romantic getaway weekend to San Antonio. I wanted to surprise her with a nice dinner and a play at the Majestic Theater. Our evening started off on a bad note due to very poor service from Spencer, our so-called waiter. Let's just say he took our order and we didn't see him again until after our meal was just about finished. No bread or refills. He came back to the table reeking like smoke. You would think, paying well over $100 for dinner and drinks for two, would certainly get you quality service. Not in this case. Spencer represented the Chart House very poorly and we will not be returning anytime soon.

The Chart House was good, not great. Food and service were decent, although at this price point you would generally expect more. But the view is amazing, of course, and is the primary reason to go to the Chart House. Despite checking in downstairs once and upstairs twice, the hostess lost our reservation, which cost us 15 minutes before I went to check again. No apology or anything, just "you'll be next". Drinks and wine were both quite good. Portion sizes were adequate -- despite some complaints we read about in other reviews, we did leave full.

The attention to detail extended all the way from providing us what I believe was the best possible table, with an awesome view for the occasion. The wait staff was courteous andeven you to congratulate us on the location, as it was noted in the reservation form. The food was great, the dessert was even better. There's a good selection of drinks, including some exclusive ones. Would definitely recommend!

I have four teenage daughters that love to "dress up" and they were absolutely impressed with the service, food and general ambiance of the restaurant. They made sure to post their experience on social media and I must say, their friends were calling out their parents for not giving them this same experience. It is our new family favorite. We will definitely be back...

First time there and was wowed by the food and beverage. When I called I asked for outdoor seating but didn't know that meant that people walking on the river walk would be bumping me all night. we were a party of 6 and wouldn't suggest outdoor seating for 6 but I think for 2 would be great. But don't let that discourage you as this was a great restaurant.

We booked at this restaurant because it was a special occasion for a friend. There was no wait for seating, surprising. We were surrounded by empty tables. The food was ok. Mine was slightly cold and we waiting for a good 30 minutes between our appetizers and our meal. Bread was provided at request because we were all so hungry. The waiter was very nice, but the food itself was definitely not 5 stars and the wait time was too long. Will not likely go again.

We didnt have to worry about anything, the hostess came and found us in the lounge once our table was ready. Having the view was worth it. We spun about 270 degrees by the time we left. His suggestions were spot on. We had our infant granddaughter with us and they had the highchair ready at our table. We were very impressed with the service and food. A excellent way to celebrate or just enjoy a quiet evening out. This is our 3rd visit and love it every time.

Visiting San Antonio for the first time my wife and I decided to splurge with dinner on top of The Tower of the Americas. While the view is indeed impressive the eating facility is less so. We found the place 3/4 empty, the numerous staff unfriendly and pushy, the food , filet mignon, tasty, if a little salty. Our waiter kept filling our glasses to the rim, putting champagne in water glasses, constantly offering more drinks and extra desserts, making us feel quite uncomfortable. For a total bill of $200, including the tip, we had expected a more civilized venue. It is an experience not to be repeated.

The wait staff and hostess staff were absolutely accommodating, efficient, and charming. The food was absolutely delicious and gorgeous presentation-- I ordered the Seafood Grill, and I must say, it was the best dish I have EVER indulged in. The food was very good , the service also was good , the only thing was that I asked the waiter to to bring the salad before main course, and the main course got to the table before. Then the waiter had to take main course back to the kitchen and bring salad out to us. Then the waiter told me that they had to remake the main course, which then I had to wait some more until the food, got prepared again. After all of that , food was good but pricie. Evening ended ok. Not great like I was hoping it would. All together, good. Thank you.
