  • "There is no better way to take in all of San Antonio than to eat a meal at the Tower of the Americas Chart House. The food is fantastic and in one hour you will make a complete 360 revolution of the whole area surrounding the city. It's awesome. This restaurant, along with the Riverwalk, are the two "musts" if you visit San Antonio, TX."

  • "Chart House is owned by Landry's. The food was excellent, with different flavors, although it was a bit pricey with most entrees running around $40. But combining the food and fabulous view from the tower at sunset and you have an evening to remember"

  • "Superb food and service. The Porterhouse was o die for and melted in your mouth. Luciano and Sergio provided attentive service. We will definitley be back and Luciano and Sergio"

  • "We had good pleasant service via our bartender while waiting for our reservation. Some miss communication as we paid for going up to the top, expecting to receive a credit if you ate or drank at the top, not just a sightseeing tour. Fish for both of us was well overdone."

  • "Very unique and memorable experience. Our waiter was awesome, wish I could remember his name. Food was very good and the scenery was awesome as expected. Would definetely recommend to anyone. The only downfall was having to wait for an elevator up."

  • "We reserved a table on July 4th. Fireworks launch off the top of the tower & the view is spectacular. You're up close & personal w/ the explosives & it's an experience my kids will never forget. Adult meals = Awesome Kids meals = Avg. (Limited choices 4 kids, so 4 picky eaters, it's a challenge) Pricey, but experience was worth it. View is amazing. Show was unforgettable. Only gripe is the hostess & service staff were a bit unprof & eager 2 watch the show. They rushed 2 the wind & aisles, & blocked view 4 my fam. I had to put my son on my shoulders so he could see over the servers holding up cell phones to record the show. I understand their excitement, but cust should come first. Especially since we spent $150 on din & drinks."

  • "The service we received from Rochelle was better than great! She was extremely knowledgeable of all the items on the menu and answered every one of our questions. She was very friendly and polite and made us feel welcomed. The view is great and the rotation of the restaurant is a plus too. There isn't a bad I thing can say about our experience here. We will definitely return when we visit San Antonio again."

  • "It's main draw is of course the view. Appetizer (the dip) was great, steak was so-so (where's the teriyaki flavor?) and dessert (chocolate lava) was good."

  • "Great service. Only complaint was the heat inside of the resident. It was very hot sitting next to the window."

  • "Waitress was never around. Asked for another waiter to please get her for us and she was also rude. Drinks were not good. Had been here before and drinks were delicious but this time they were horrible. Had made a special order for a cake and although it was confirmed it was never made so for my special occasion it wasn't possible. Manager tried to make up for it with a yummy lava cake and candle with writing on the plate to personalize it but it wasn't the same. That king gesture and effort made my night a bit more special after everything. The food was also very delicious. The food and view was what made the night special."

  • "Amazing views from the rotating restaurant. The food is okay. Paying $43 for a 4 oz piece of sea bass is a bit high."

  • "This was our "big night out" while on vacation. It exceeded all our expectations and more. Even the elevator attendant was wonderful! Our waitress was great...she knew the menu and the landmarks out the windows! Every dish we ordered was better than the next! We will definitely go back next time we are in town!"

  • "Chart House Restaurant was an excellant experience. Frustation getting parked because of the construction and pay parking that is cash only, but the service, food and facilities are excellant."

  • "The down fall is that to me its a restuarant for adults. There were too many children but its expected because of its location. One thing is that it was really hot at the bar area and somewhat hot at dinning. I went in suite which could explain why I was hot but to me I had to take tie, jacket and fold sleeves. That was beyond hot. My girlfriend was in a dress and she was hot as well. But once the night fall came around, the mood was pefect. Service was excellent. Best part was they were able to take my request for window view upon my arrival."

  • "The high prices of the food were worth it. Not only was everything we ordered delicious and detailed, but the environment made us forget the priceyness of the menu. We had a window seat, giving us a remarkable view, and the slow rotation of the place was fun and not too fast. It was extremely romantic for my boyfriend and me, but there were plenty of families and groups of friends there too. Lobster Mac n cheese = excellent; we wanted to take five orders to go! Our waiter was friendly, recommended activities for us to do as tourists, and seemed genuinely interested in everything we said. We dropped $100 total for the two of us with no alcohol, but if we have the money next time we visit SA, we will definitely be going back to Charthouse!"

  • "The view was spectacular of course. The restaurant overall left much to be desired. It had a dirty and aging feel to it. Our meal was rushed, with our food coming out before we were finished the appetizer. When I am paying that much per appetizer and entree, I expect to take my time and enjoy it. I ordered a glass of wine that tasted like it came from a $5 bottle. The food was good, but not worth the price. I had a whole crabcake leftover so our server wrapped it for me and left it on the station where the other servers were placing their trays and what not. I saw a server push my food bag onto the floor and not even give a care about it. Our server saw it later and instead of apologizing, she ignored it and did not offer anything."

  • "I have made a habit of reserving a dinner and/or drinks engagement for family and visitors at the Tower for many years now. I have enjoyed multiple exceptional dinners with Chart House but for the first time, this past Monday evening dinner resulted in a sub-par experience. I feel that the obligatory tip proscribed for large parties lessens the wait-staff's attentiveness as they are obviously aware that a tip is just that: proscribed. I am an exceptional tipper as I feel servers are very under-remunerated, however upon experiencing substandard service it is difficult to be benevolent on that score. It was my disappointment to have a wonderful evening with family lessened by the experience I have taken the time to review."

  • "Came here for dinner and the table behind us had 4 kids sitting at it. They were up constantly and walked all over the restaurant. Our waiter was slightly arrogant when we first arrived. Food was magnificent and the view was great. Slightly too warm inside to eat comfortably, but the windows don't help that. A true "server from the left and collect from the right" restaurant."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed our experience. Great food and service. Excellent view!!!"

  • "The food was superb with an attentive waiter. (get over it-he was male) We are expecting a complete fine dining experience, but were dismayed to see the man seated at the adjoining table wearing a tank top, shorts and flip-flops. That casual wear would be better suited at an ice house. The lack of class was enough that w will choose to dine elsewhere for the same moderately high dollars spent. My recommendation to others would be to go there if you want food lots better than Chili's, but can still ss like you just got out of bed."

  • "Our 1st visit here; I took a party of 8, 3 adults and 5 kids in two cars and immediately had a damper put on our experience when we had to pay $22.00 to self park our cars so we could go spend well over $500.00 to dine at the chart house restaurant; didn't make any sense to me at all. The food wasn't that great and the portions were Homeopathic sizes. My only pleasure was seeing my kids thoroughly enjoy the effects of the rotating tower. They were thrilled seeing the inner portion actually rotating, and experience the rotating effects of the outer part of the building; What makes my kids happy, makes me happy, so I guess that one visit is fair enough for me, but not good enough for a repeat occasion."

  • "The food from the appetizer, to the entree, and the dessert was amazing. The food was freshly prepared, cooked to perfection (not over done or over oily) and delicious. There was quite a selection to choose from and our server was amenable to my specific dietary requirements. Our server was also attentive and timely with her service and friendly and personable in her conversation. My husband and I were celebrating out anniversary and I would go back to San Antonio just to eat at this restaurant -- and the view was not bad either. Though the meal was pricey, it was a special occasion and not unreasonably priced, and, as the review title indicates, well worth the cost."

  • "Dining in the Tower of Americas has been on our wish list for quit awhile. The food and service were very good. The menu is pricey, but if you purchase an entree the fee for entering the viewing area is waived. Actually the view was so spectacular there wasn't a need to go outside the restaurant. There is no bad seating. Recommend this highly for special occassion or vacation."

  • "Overall food was great, waiter excellent and view perfect. However we were sat along a major walk way and was constantly dodging waiters trays and being bumped into by people passing. Even had our 3 you old Ran over by a walking customer."

  • "It is a great place to have dinner with your friends, family. Also for a romantic ocassion. Excelent ambience, great view. Very enjoyable. A place you have to visit."

  • "View was great and the food was good. Our waiter, Jefe, though, was awesome. His service and cadence seemed to come from many years of experience and just being a nice guy. He let us take our time on choices and helped with recommendations, greater servers make or break restaurant experiences regardless of the food and this place has a good one!"

  • " If you dine nowhere else in San Antonio, it must be The Chart House! The 360 degree revolving view is fantastic. We went on our last night in San Antonio and it was worth the wait. The food was beautifully presented, the staff were friendly and responsive to our needs. My spouse has celiac disease and they were accommodating to her dietary requirements. It was the view that really made the meal extraordinary. The entire panoramic skyline of San Antonio was in view as the restaurant revolves at the top of the Tower of the Americas."

  • "Great views as the restaurant slowly spins, giving great views in all directions of San Antonio and the surrounding countryside. Friendly staff, though our waiter was a bit slow and we only saw him occasionally. Well worth the trip, though parking in the lot is $11 and nearby parking even more, a cab might be a good option."

  • "I was traveling for business and wanted to take my fifteen-year-old and her friend someplace nice for lunch. Chart House was an awesome experience for them. The only disappointment was that the restaurant was not moving so we missed out on the panoramic view of San Antonio. Nonetheless, the food was awesome, the ambiance was great, and the girls got to experience fine dining at a time of day that wasn't too demanding for the wait staff."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Since this is a scenic restaurant almost everyone will want to take a picture. We asked the wait staff and they took a picture for us. I think the staff should be encouraged to approach the customers and ask it they would like for them to take a picture."

  • "Visitors to San Antonio should include the Chart House at the top of the Tower of the Americas on their list of things to do and see. It does not have the historical significance of the Alamo, but it provides a memorable dining experience that exceeds the many nice places on the Riverwalk."
