The service is great. A great spot to relax, have some good food and enjoy SAs view from above. Management needs to be more personable when addressing customers, specially when addressing the serving of raw/uncooked food. Even the waitress did better apologizing for the mishap. A bit expensive. Great place for special occasions.

Best view of the city of San Antonio, for birthday or ultra romantic evening. The shrimp, brie and artichoke melt appetizer was the best dish we ordered. The Wild Mushroom Merlot Medallion and Shrimp, and The Macadamia encrusted Mahi were both good, overpriced for good. The wine selection is affordable with a few expensive choices in the mix. The St. Michelle Riesling I had is pleasing and can be found in my refrigerator. My girlfriend's food was served cold. They 100 percent corrected the mistake with a new plate of hot food, a chocolate lava dessert on the house and her meal came complementary on the final bill. 15% tip quality service. Not a place for a foodie to rave about the food. I would not hesitate to go again for the right occasion.

The Service was very Good but we have for the second time a problem with the person in the front desk and downstairs. Every time we got there they said that they not understand our last name, even we spelled to them. I suggest to you to tell to those Person to be more kind with the people especially if they are foreigners because you give the bad impression like a great restaurant in San Antonio. More professionalism next time. Thank you. PS. please if they speak Two languages like english and spanish tell them to don't makes a dumb.....

We had a 5pm reservation on a Monday and were seated immediately because it was empty. The restaurant only had a couple other tables for a good while after we arrived. The service was good but the food was not that great. I had crab stuffed fish and my husband has salmon. Everything was very dry and bland. The kids had shrimp dishes and loved them. I would only recommend it for the view and experience of having been there, not for the food! I did like that they did print a special bday dinner menu for my daughter. On top of the menu they wished her a happy birthday. That was an unexpected great little detail for her and we loved it!

Good day! I am the mother of the sweet groom, Troy, who was given a gift certificate to your place for his honeymoon dinner. Unfortunately, he did not get to use it. Upon their arrival at the restaurant, they were told there had been a power outage and were closed. My son and his bride were spending their first night as a married couple in San Antonio and were very disappointed. The gift certificate was for $125.00 and was to be a wonderful and romantic evening for them...but it did not happen. Now, they will have to plan another trip to San Antonio, which will require more cost to them for hotel and traveling, and as we all know, newlyweds are generally broke. So we are unsure if they will ever get to use their gift.

i have been to this restaurant several times and each time it just seems to be better than the last ! i love this place which is why it was so sad when on the day of my reservation i received a call from one of the managers of the restaurant who told me that the place had no power or phones due to a storm that went through the area. i give this place 5 stars just because i know this place well and it is a great place to eat and entertain. my 6 year old was supposed to have her birthday dinner up there. there is no better place to see san antonio texas. well i guess it will be for her next birthday then !!!!

When we arrived after walking a mile in 10 minutes....because parking nearby is far too limited at this time, our reservations were cancelled and we were offered nothing for our time or trouble. We were give no notification and we were there to celebrate 15 years of wedded bliss. We will never try to go there again. We now know what our patronage meant, and to be honest, I am totally disappointed by the lack of etiquette.

Didn't make it to the restaurant. A rainstorm flooded the bottom of the elevator shaft and caused a power outage. A couple and a worker were stuck up there and didn't get down until the next day (their choosing - she had a medical problem that prohibited her walking down the @ 900 steps. I'll reschedule!

We were so excited to celebrate our 28th anniversary at the Chart House/Tower of the Americas in San Antonio. Wanted to see great sunset. When we arrived, there was a crowded lobby and come to find out that the tower had no power. The elevators were stuck with people in them and no service up in the restaurant. Diners were stuck there too! For hours! We waited hoping power would be restored. It wasn't. A very nice lady at reception was about to turn us away but we asked if she could get us reservations, as late as it was, at Landry's Seafood on the Riverwalk. She did. She was great! But we are still talking about our disappointing night.

The view is a real treat. The restaurant prides itself on fresh seafood (if you hadn't figured this out by the name) and the selections were very tasty and generously portioned. Sides were ok but expensive. Desert was fantastic! Attentive servants. Overall great experience. Would love to visit again for a special occasion.

We had an very nice meal at the Chart House. My wife had the scallops and they were outstanding. I had the salmon plank. It was alright nut the plank was way charred to the point part broke off. It was too smokey. Everything else was great, especially our server Jefe. He was the best. He even took some nice pictures for us. The rest of the staff was also very nice. Of course the view was outstanding!

Celebrating a special occasion. The revolving panorama is great especially as city lights appear. The food was only ok. The salmon was overcooked even though I specifically requested rare. The topping on Salmon was inconsistent as compared to someone in our party who ordered the same thing. Service was excellent. Lava cake sat out and was no longer warm when served.

We were very disappointed in our dining experience at The Chart House Restaurant. We started with a tuna appetizer which was delicious. Unfortunately, it was the only edible food we received. I was waiting for Robert Irvine to walk in the door from Restaurant Impossible. In fact, this would be a great restaurant for him to go in and help get back on the right track. Unfortunately, more and more Landry's restaurants are like visiting a user car showroom. The wait staff is trained to upsell you on everything including their overpriced drink of the day. We ended up going to another restaurant, Ruth Chris, where we had an amazing experience of great food and impeccable service.

We went here for bday and get together celebration. Host was rude downstairs no greetings whatsoever. Cake or dessert order ahead for bday requested with name was not achieved. Food took forever with the excuse that it was full. ordered prime rib and lobster tail it took 30 min to tell us there were no lobster and no option was given to us. Courtesy bread was not given have to ask couple many times. Server didn't go back to us check on us. There were no system whatsoever. very difficult to refill drink since they just ignore you the whole time 😞. Talked to manager on duty 8/31/14@9pm to tell him our concerns did not do anything and very cold and rude no character you better find another job that does not in hospitality field cause you suck

The lunch and dinner menu's are superb! Service is always great. The only complaint I have isn't even with the restaurant or the staff, but with the TEXAS HEAT! To avoid the sun glaring on your face during your meal, lol, go from 11pm - 2pm when the sun is above the tower....and from sunset onto the evening.....if you go from 2pm-5pm, as the tower if rotating, you will get direct sun in your face and it even feels a bit hot...just a tip for those wanting to experience this amazing place :P

We were 3. 2 of us wanted the Prime Rib. We do not get to eat at places like this often, so we were a little disappointed when there was no prime rib available. The ribeye turned out good. Our waiter was very nice, just a little inexperienced. But that is fine, everyone starts somewhere. Understandable. The potatoes that Came with the ribeye, were barely marginal. I have a great recipe! The spinach was good and the chopped salad as well. Dessert was good. Cake seemed a little old, but covered up with the toppings.

Our server was great, the food was great. Once we were seated it was a wonderful experience but when you have a reservation for 7:15 I would expect to be seated no more than ten minutes after that point. It took just about a half hour to be seated it was pretty aggravating, especially since I had tickets to a show after dinner I was trying to make.

I'm from Houston so I thought taking my lady out for a romantic dinner at the Chart House would be just the thing but boy was I wrong. I had teh worst waiter in the place(I hope they don't come any worse). I first had to tell him to locate a chiller for the bottle of wine I purchased and then he took our food to the wrong table. He seemed lost the whole the night and I asked him how long has he been employed there which he stated 1.5 years. I ordered a steak which came out cold and my lady friend had the fish which was very bland. The waiter then brought the bill and stood over the table stating "I am also the cashier"! I said ok thank you as I finish my wine and he returned an stated the same thing(WoW!). I'm not one to complain but Dam!

I ordered a 40 dollar Chilean Sea Bass. What I got was an overcooked, very rubbery piece of fish that WAS NOT sea bass. I told the waiter and he came back to me and said they will bring me out chilean sea bass and that he was sorry. It was the very end of the night. What were they trying to do....pull one over on me. Hope that I wouldnt notice? Not one time did a manager come by. For a 40 dollar piece of fish......and for this place to be fine dining.....at the very least.....a manager should have come by and explained why I was given a piece of rubber after waiting half an hour for my food. Will never go back. Just watch out and closely examine your food once you get it.

Special occasion not so special without the birthday cake. Juan could not find it. Our guests were not offered dessert. Just a piece of pie brought out to the birthday boy. I was embarrassed. melted cake wss given to us in a bag as we were leaving. Got to go box and sent melted cake home with our guests. There were air conditioning problems. Ac finally kicked on right as we began to eat. Prior to that sweating in the bar and restaurant when you have gotten dressed up is never a great thing. However the food was great and Jose in the bar had the hospitality skills of 100 people. Our cocktail waitress was very attentive as well. Sorry we forgot her name. We would still recommend it

My wife and I took our daughter to the Chart House for her birthday. Great food, great view, and even better service! A bit pricey, but it was a special occasion. They do need to have a craft brew on tap.
