  • "I've never been to a place like this! My fiance and I went as a surprise date for our anniversary and everything was perfect. Our server knew the menu down to the T! Our drinks were delicious as well as our food. We'll be going back for sure."

  • "We had reservations for the Fourth of July and had requested an outside table to watch the fireworks. When we arrived we were told there was an hour and a half for outside seating. We had arrived a half hour before our reservation to allow for any crowds due to the Fourth. We took an inside table to wait for an outside table. They seated us right outside the restrooms where we had a constant stream of people coming and going. After having drinks and appetizers and waiting forty five minutes we spoke to Mike, the manager who said everyone wanted an outside table and unless we were "Club Members" we would just have to wait. We left. We have visited CH in Longboat Key and Weehawken and had a good experience. We won't be going back."

  • "Went to Chart House for my wife's birthday on July 4th. The food was a bit unpredictable. The fried green tomatoes were good but the calamari was chewy and a bit cold. As far as the entrees, my surf and turf was pretty lousy and my wife's Snapper Hemingway was very good. The biggest issue was that it took an hour to get our entrees after we received our salads. When I spoke to the manager, he barely apologized and did not even offer a free desert or any compensation for our issues. The place wasn't even crowded and I guess we know why. Never again. Too expensive to have poor service and unpredictable Food."

  • "We selected chart house to send our kids to for both their anniversary and our daughters birthday this past week and put it in the notes for open table.I made sure they printed out the open table reservation. In addition our son in law is leaving for his 3rd overseas assignment next week to Korea. I called the restaurant 15 minutes before they arrived and spoke to the manager Eric to explain this was a special event because of not just the birthday and anniversary but his upcoming deployment. He assured me he would make sure it was special. When they checked in for the reservation they were told they had no reservation. Fortunately they had the print out. Not only did they not get special attention they didn't even acknowledge her birthday!"

  • "Celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday. Even though I listed the birthday on the open table reservation, the staff, hostess or waiter, never mentioned it. Waiter served the men first (ok with me) but this notes a lack of training. Entrees forced on the table even though we were only half done our salads. Salad plates never cleared so we eventually had to place them in a neat pile on the floor. Second glass of wine ordered when entree was served, didn't see it until we were ready for dessert. Cream for coffee was bad, need I go on? A lot of money for horrible service. Food was good.No manager around, just kids running the place. Usually at a nice place, the manager visits the table and checks on the patrons. Made a big mistake eating here..."

  • "Mentioned in on-line reservation and to the waiter that it was 33rd anniversary. If we hadn't asked him to take a pic not sure it was noted. Didn't need anything special but a mere "congratulations" might have been nice. It's the reason we picked Chart House as our local Chart House (Melbourne, FL) is always responsive to special events."

  • "Visited this restaurant a couple of nights earlier and posted a review about their disappointing entrees. Last night, everything was back to the normal high standards of the Chart House. Chef recovered from a bad night on Tuesday to provide us with an excellent meal on Thursday. Great restaurant that we always make a point to visit when we are in Savannah."

  • "I had never been to Savannah or The Chart House. I plan on coming back with my family and also to eat there. The food was excellent and the staff was very knowledgeable."

  • "Have dined at several different Chart Houses over the years and never been disappointed. But, entrees at Savannah location were dry and bland. Well below their usual standards. Going to give it another chance while we are in town. Hope it was just a rough night for the chef and he/she will be back on their game tonight."

  • "I took my husband to lunch at The Chart House on Father's Day, we had a 12:15 reservation. We are locals and have been there 5 times including this visit. Since it just opened for lunch we were seated right away on the bottom floor and there was only 1 other couple in there at the time so it was nice and quiet. I ordered the Seafood Trio which was mediocre compared to other dishes I've had there and my husband ordered the Mahi Mahi which he really enjoyed. Our only complaint was really the service. Our waiter was terrible. He never checked up on us, our drinks didn't get refilled and he stayed at the hostess stand chatting with other employees directly in front of us. For a $75 lunch the service and attention should have been MUCH better."

  • "We asked for a window table, which were almost all empty, and were seated at one after the hostess checked that there was a wait staff assigned to that table. Open Table said we could not request a window table but there were window tables reserved. Next time we may make our reservation directly with the restaurant."

  • "We enjoyed another good meal at Chart House, starting with best peach martinis in Savannah! Our waitress was the best server we have had a Chart House....overall it was a great night! Our friends who had never been were very impressed!"

  • " I will say that overall the food was good. It was not great and the service was pitiful. We had a server who appeared to be training someone which is fine. We have now been there 20 minutes and have nothing happening. Appetizers-The fried green tomatoes were slightly undercooked but fine. The crab/avocado appetizer needed seasoning/salt. Tuna-Raw version was fine. The seared was nice quality but didn't hit the mark. My short ribs were excellent but the scallops that shared the plate were small and not seared properly. Orzo side was very good. The mixed cobbler was quite good. For these prices I would have expected excellent service and very good food. We received terrible service and some food that had some highlights but some shortcomings"

  • " I expected more since it was recommended with such high regard. The salmon was overcooked and the price we paid was not represented by the food we received. However, the service, ambience and view was very good. Recommend to a friend, hardly."

  • "We had been told not to eat on the Riverfront. What a nice surprise. They had special menus printed with our name on them. The appitizers were great! Some of the best mussels, I've had and THE BEST fried green tomatoes. "

  • "Have always gone to Chart House for Birthdays and special occasions for the last 5 years driving 1 hour one way to get there. This year was very average as far as food quality, taste, and presentation go. Service was minimal at the best. Previous visits had prepared me for a more robust dining experience, but the Chart House let us down this time. Chart House is no longer worth the 2 hour drive roundtrip. nor the food tab for something I can get locally without the hassle."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "The food was just ok and the prices were a bit on the high side. The service was good. Our waitress was very busy but she was on top of things and she was very accommodating. "

  • "Local and regular patron. Even though the Chart House is part of a "chain" its location next to the river and the building/location make dinner a very unique experience. Food was as always very good. Only disappointment was the hot spinach salad that for years was mixed at the table was now just brought to you. Time saver I guess but something is lost. "

  • "I was served a martini in a glass that was chipped. Because the glass had been rimmed with sugar, I did not notice it until I drank from that particular spot about 1/2 way through the cocktail. When I did notice it, I alerted my server immediately & she took the glass to the bus tray. She never brought me a new drink and when the bill came, she did not remove it! When I asked her about taking it off the bill the response was "well you waited until the end to tell me". The drink was still sitting on the bus tray and I pointed to the 1/2 full glass. She stormed away to take it off the bill...but there was never any "are you okay" or "let me bring you another cocktail" or "I'm so sorry" I am still amazed at the lack of customer service!"

  • "I would say that it was a good place for dining if you were not lied to. We were seated at a table near a window with a view of the river. A few minutes later the hostess returned and said that the wait person for that table would not be in for an hour and we were seated across the aisle from that table. Less than 15 minutes later another foursome was seated at the table that we were removed from and the waiter that was serving us, also waited on the table from which we were removed. We were not happy...we did tell the manager when he came to the table to ask if we were well taken care of. He did offer us a dessert...but feebly. We did not accept, nor did our waiter mention this when he returned to ask if we desired dessert. "

  • "The dinning facility was elegant with outstanding service. I would recommend holiday specials especially mothers and Father's Day to compete with compatetion. My beverage appeared to lack Russian vodka compared to my last visit. Set a standard on food and drinks and maintain it. "

  • "While the experience over all was wonderful there were a few problems that bare mentioning. Our reservation was made well in advance and the web site stated that they no longer acepred reservations for window seats but we could request one ar check in. At Check in we were advised the wait would be 45 minutes for a window seat so we chose to be seated elsewhere. There were 2 vacant tables for the first 45 minutes we were seated. I ordered my steak medium rare cool red center. It was served medium well a thin barelypink center, While the Manager and the waitress both offered to replace it I chose not to wait another 45 minutes so my husband could ear his fish while hot. We will go back but feel this issues show be reported."

  • "There was not a single bottle of French wine that one could purchase, and when asked about it the waiter made a joke. They also did not serve the martinti in the manner requested. The blackend ahi tuna was fried. not grilled. And some of the beets served jn my associate's dish were so hard that he could not cut them. One could eat the food and accept the service but overall there is no reason to return."

  • "The food was great. Especially dessert. The bar and bartenders were good and attentive. Our server, however, was disappointing. We were pretty much ignored. It took 15 + minutes before we were greeted at the table. The only time we were spoken to was when asked what we wanted. Water glasses were empty throughout the meal and the server, or any waitstaff for that matter, were not around. Each time food was brought to the table it was sat down on the table with out a word said to us. It was very unfortunate as the food did taste great and the outdoor view was nice for a two hour meal. "

  • "I've been to several other Chart House locations. I didn't think this one measured up to the others. On this night I found service and food both to be very average. Many better choices in Savannah. "

  • "Our evening was made special by our server Rodney. He did a wonderful job explaining all the starters and entrees he felt we would enjoy. The She Crab soup was excellent with lots of most crab meat and just the right amount of cream. We shared the chopped salad which was perfect for sharing. The Crab Stack appetizer was perfect for my light meal and my husband had the delicious snapper Hemingway. Make sure you sit upstairs on the open deck along River street and the Savannah river. Loved watching the large boats and even a container ship passing through this evening. "

  • "The food at the Savannah Chart House never disappoints. The only shortcoming we experienced our previous two visits is that the riverside porch was closed. The first time because of rain, the second because of deck repairs. I can't tell how important that seating area is for us on the covered porch, overlooking the Savannah River and hoping to catch a cargo ship or two passing by the restaurant. For us, this is Savannah."

  • "It is my third visit to the restaurant, and it did not disappoint! For this visit, I had the Oysters Rockefeller and Cold Water Lobster tail - both superb! The oysters' toppings were not over the top and was perfectly creamy, while I could still taste the freshness of the oysters. I loved the lobster tail, requested for butter lemon sauce - perfection! My niece had the chicken entree and she loved it too. We shared their famous lava cake but we were too full so we ended up taking home 3/4 of it! Outstanding food and highly recommended!"

  • "We enjoyed the interior of the restaurant, our excellent wait staff and most importantly our fabulous meal. We were seated promply and suggestions and specials were explained. Our meal was brought out in a timely manner and it was hot and delicious. The only complaint I have is with me,it was so good I ate too much. If you enjoy eating a great meal in a historic building, this place is for you."

  • "We've dined at this Chart House for many years. Never a bad experience, always wonderful food, and always attentive, professional service. We have to drive over 50 miles to dine here, but it's well worth the trip."

  • "From seafood to steaks, the Chart House will not disappoint. Even the simple fish & chips are the best in the south! A bit pricey so check the menu online first. "

  • "I have eaten at several Chart House restaurants in other locations and was always impressed by the food. The Savannah location did not meet my expectations. The food was okay, but not outstanding and rather limited. I had salmon with green beans. No bread was provided. $27.00 for "okay" salmon is disappointing considering the location. Service was slow throughout the restaurant. At 8:30 pm on the deck, no one seemed to have any food. We were all just sitting and waiting. Would not recommend."
