"Love this place but for the average person, it's a little over priced. This visit was for Easter Sunday, would have liked a special "Easter special" item on the menu. The tables for the most part aren't jammed together like other places. The wait staff have to great attitude and try to be attentive. Since it was Easter, lots of large tables may have accounted for the kitchen's slow service. Would love to go there weekly, but for now, because of the prices, it has to be a special occasion."

"My family took me to Chart House for my 30th birthday.

I was looking forward to going, since I've been to the Lake Tahoe location several times. I cannot say, however, I enjoyed my experience in Newport Beach.

To keep it simple and short, I was celebrating not just a birthday, but a milestone birthday of 30. I found it quite displeasing I wasn't offered any sort of complimentary appetizer or desert. Especially given the fact our bill for 4 was $200! Not even a simple scoop of ice cream or anything. I left the restaurant with a sour taste in my mouth vowing never to go back to a Chart House again.

It's the simple things that keep customers going back for years, and Chart House failed to deliver on such a special occasion."

"We chose the Chart House for our 41st anniversary dinner because we love it. It did not disappoint! You walk into a beautifully designed dining room with big windows that look out over the Newport Harbor. We were greeted by a very sweet hostess, and taken to the window seat we had requested. I think her name was Chrissy. Then, Carly, our waitress appeared and we were off on a very satisfying dining experience. My husband ordered off the specials menu--filet medallions and crab-stuffed lobster which came after a roasted beet salad. He said both were outstanding. I ordered my favorites--clam chowder and prime rib. Delish! We shared a dessert off the specials menu--triple treat cobblers--yum! yum! We will definitely go back!"

"Very expensive for what you get. It's just all about the location and the scenery. That is what you're paying for. The food is okay for the price, the service is very nice. It's all about the atmosphere!"

"We sat next to out of control children playing with their food playing in the isles and when we notified a manager her comment was we will make note of it on your reservation this was supposed to be a nice dining experience turned out to be a expensive disaster"

"We frequented the Chart Houses is their early years all over the country..even Puerto Rico! We are Beach people and always enjoyed the fabulous surf-oriented pictures and ambience. The new "decor" is like early Denny's now...we will never be back even though the food and service we excellent. Not everyone is into the "Mad Men" look Also, why not have jazz music or an outdoor bar. The crowd was baby boomers, like us, but that's not all we want to see...get with it!"

"Service was very friendly, but inattentive to detail (I had to ask for a knife for my dinner, the server didn't bring the wine when we'd asked for it, the server didn't put the utensils in the right place, and despite the fact that it was our anniversary, which we noted at the time of reservation, we got a mediocre table and had to ask to be moved. This was particularly disappointing, given that the restaurant was not full, and there were better tables with views of the harbor available). Food was OK, but the mashed potatoes seemed to have been sitting for awhile by the time they got me and the prime rib was too salty. I don't want to be too harsh, because everyone was very nice, but overall it didn't meet our expectations."
