Chart House Restaurant - MiamiBiscayne BayMother's day gets so crazy in Miami that my wife and I took my mom to the Chart House Saturday evening instead. What a great call. Table under cover outside on the water. Mom travels by wheelchair, and the Charthouse is wheelchair friendly. Server Adam was perfect. Mussels were tender and delicious. The Lobster bisque was hearty, clam chowder ok, the gazpacho was excellent. Halibut with shrimp was moist, flakey and perfect. Snapper topped with lump crab was excellent. Best might have been the KING Salmon. Went well with a German Riesling. Try the chocolate volcano dessert. Takes half hour to make, so order when you order your meal and ask for extra spoons. The only reason I am lowering my overall rating to good instead of very good is not because of the restaurant, but because of some of the patrons. It's graduation time and there were several large groups celebrating this wonderful event. Don't get me wrong I love celebrations and we have many graduates and soon to be graduates in our family, but some people just don’t know how to celebrate in public. Our food, the service and the view were as great as always, I will just remember to avoid this restaurant during graduation season. Everything we ordered was excellent and well presented - salmon, mahi mahi, chicken, ... Don't skip the specialty desert - Chocolate Lava Cake! They even printed a special congratulatory menu to greet us.
