Chart House Restaurant - Ft. LauderdaleFantastic Night OutThe whole night was wonderful. We arrived via the Water Taxi and were seated outside with a great view of the boats and water. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and polite. Service was impeccable and the food incredible. We had the Oysters Rockefeller and East meets west Tuna; both were great. Dinner was Mahi and Crab cakes; two stellar choices. I would definitely return and will recommend this restaurant to everyone. The staff went out of their way to make our night memorable. The food is great and the views of the Intracoastal are so very beautiful especially at night. The service is friendly and professional. Everyone should go to the happy hour--the prices are fantastic and the appetizers served are wonderful especially the firecracker shrimp and the beef sliders. Their soups are wonderful--my husband loves the lobster bisque and I the gazpacho. All in all it is a lovely place to spend a relaxing evening!!!!

We were treated like royalty. Edward, our server, was excellent. We could not have asked for better. They accommodated us when we brought a surprise birthday cake, including even putting the candles on it and lighting and presentling it at the appropriate time. The food was excellent and they even engraved the menus to celebrate the occasion. Same great location for this restaurant with new name and owners (formerly Charlies Crab) and its new inside decor is well done. Still, the choice seats have to be outside where the intercoastal waterway and boats of every kind await. The Maryland Benedict is outstanding. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Perfect balance of traditional Benedict with scrumpcious fresh seafood. My wife enjoyed the Over the top frech toast with its thick slice of bread and loads of fruit "stuffing". The Mango Mojito was OK but the mango flavor wasnt prominent. Others in the party loved the Bloody Marys. Rest was cheeses seafood cool in chaffers . Cold salads, Pastries were almost nonexistent but toaster with bagles & toast available.

Food was good, but not exceptional . . . not up to usual standards, and they ran out of some items that I skipped the first time down the buffet line, but were gone by my second trip (including macaroni and cheese, of all things!). Desert buffet was a disappointment. Over-priced for what they served. Charging $3.50 for a cup of coffee on top of the already stiff fee was too much. The view was beautiful to sit and watch the water. It was very romantic and e food was delicious. Our waiter Leo was very nice and helpful. My husband ordered the grouper and said it was really good but just a tad too dry. For dessert we had cream brule and that was awesome as well.
