Diner Reviews
  • "I've been in Boston for more than 20 years and can't believe I have never been to Chart House. It's now one of my all-time favorites."

  • "Food always good here and service. Unfortunately a family of 6 little kids next to us running around and parents do nothing even though you give them the evil eye. I think a place of this caliber should say something to parents of unruly children so other diners paying a high price a nice meal do not have to be disturbed by rude children"

  • "First time at Chart House in a few years. Food and service were very good. Noise traveled too much"

  • "From the time we arrived the service was first class, the food was amazing, we ordered Oysters, shrimp cocktail and calamari as appetisers. The main courses were Fillet and rump steaks, both cooked to perfection plus salmon, again fantastic. If you are in Boston you should eat here."

  • "The food was very good the waitstaff was very good and fun and the ambience was just incredible. Would definitely recommend and go back. We've been to several Landry places and my wife likes the ambience in this one the best"

  • "Love this place. I have been there several times and it is always good. Great view, wonderful food, and a unique setting. It can be noisey at times, but it is well worth the price for most items."

  • "I highly recommend the Chart House ...simple excellence"

  • "Amazing food, hands down. It is a busy place, but the service staff were incredibly attentive. It is rare for me to love every single thing that I order, but that was indeed the case."

  • "Food was great, as was the service and atmosphere. V Q Q V H"

  • ""Surprise" Family Visit: "Open Table to the rescue! Our nephew and his girflriend were in town for the weekend (graduate school shopping) - we usually do Atlantic Fish or Legal, but we are familiar with the Chart House 'brand' and decided to give Chart House - Long Wharf a try. As always, it was wicked easy to book on Open Table and we had the added assurance of the confirmation call from the Chart House on Saturday. Valet parking certainly made it convenient. Food offerings were fantastic, the Specials were unbelievable, and everyone's meal was prepared perfectly to their liking! Great service as well ! Will definitely be back with other visiting family members throughout the Summer!"

  • "We both enjoyed snapper with a lump of crab that was the size of a small saucer. Excellent presentation and we paired it with a nice white wine from Malborough. Our waiter could not have been nicer and the view out the window was wonderful of Boston harbor. It was a pricey , but nice experience."

  • "My daughter always requested the Chart House for special occasions. Now my son does too. Whether in Philly or Boston, we are always treated as if its a special occasion, even if it isn't. Even menus printed just for us."

  • "Went for restaurant week, they were offering it on Saturday for lunch. Great if you can't get into the city during the week"

  • "I think the Chart House has one of the best overall ambiance in the wharf section of boston. Very historic and roomy; gives you a fell like it was once a very important place (and it was). Why go to a touristy Quincy market spot when this is so much better and less than four mnutes walk? long seafood selection. excellent after dinner drink selection the food is excellent staff could be better trained"

  • "The worst service I have ever recieved! Our waiter didnt write down allergies, was mad at us when the food someone was allergic to was on the plate, and yelled it through the restraunt that it wasnt his fault, but my friends. he tried to take a 40% tip when we paid in cash and requested change, and was angry when we had to ask for change again. He spilled water all over the table as well as my friend and did not apologize or help clean it up. If it wasnt for the good food, we would have left."

  • "All I can say is our server Eddie was awesome and we had a wonderful time will come back!!!!"

  • "The waitress was excellent very attentive and great service! The prime rib I ordered which was supposed to be medium rare came out well done but they immediately replaced it with a new one. The ambience of the place I felt was excellent very clean and very conducive to a big group or a special occasion."

  • "Came here for lunch during Restaurant week with a friend. Awesome lunch. Excellent wait service. Will definitely return again!"
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "The restaurant is right in Boston harbor with a great view. But, the food was very good and the service excellent! Would definitely go again. The only challenge was parking. There is a garage but it is downtown Boston and therefore, very expensive. The only downside!"

  • "Great menu choices for Restaurant Week! We had a 30 minutes wait past our reservation time, but enjoyed cocktails in the lounge area while we waited. Once we got to our table, the manager gave us a free hot appetizer of our choice, unprovoked! Dining room server was very personable and paid very good attention to detail! Food was fantastic! Would highly recommend!"

  • "We had dinner here during restaurant week. Even after lowering my expectations for that reason, I found the meal a disappointment. The prime rib was only adequate, the mashed potatoes were nearly inedible, and the best part of my meal was a pretty standard chopped salad. Service was warm but largely inefficient. Knowing that this is a restaurant typically known for its atmosphere and location rather than food, I still felt cheated at the end of the night. Your money is better spent elsewhere."

  • "Food was fabulous. Best meal out we've had in a long time. Carlos the waiter was very cordial and professional. We had a wonderful time."

  • "My wife and I celebrated my 40th birthday party at the Chart House. The food was outstanding, the service was terrific and to top it off the Hotel concierge sent a complimentary dessert ."

  • "I've never been to the Chart House, but will return after my restaurant week experience. I went for lunch with a friend and enjoyed my $20 three-course meal very much. Parking there is complimentary - right on the wharf! Overall, I thought it was great food in a great location."

  • "Long time favorite with our family. Reliably fine dining."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "absolutely perfect from the beginning to the very end"
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "This is now our go to restaurant. Best ever clam chowder. Ordered two lobster rolls, one was fuller than the other but there was more than enough in one to balance them off. Waitress was excellent. Environment is open and there are three levels for seating. Wine selection is moderate. It is casual dining and good for families. Right next to the Boston Aquarium."

  • "Honestly, I was expecting a lot from the reviews. We should have gone to Legal Sea Foods across the street for better fish, better portions, and better sides. The service was not great. We had been given a buzzer to be called when we were ready. We were told we could sit at the bar, so we did. After waiting for forty minutes despite having a reservation, we approached the hostess table. They had seen us go into the bar, and had said they were trying to contact us by buzzing us. Clearly, they could have walked into the bar and seen us instead of having us wait forty minutes for a poor quality meal."

  • "This is my third time here and all I have to say is that between the food and the staff everything was AMAZING and I'd definitely go back. I didn't get our servers name but he was so hysterial and took care of any needs that we had. Their prime rib is the best and I love this place!!"

  • "We've been eating at the Chart House for many years. Recently the food has been better than in the past and is consistently good. We are rarely disappointed. We consider it a good value and enjoy the Landry's Club discount we get. The only thing I don't like is the fact that their staff is continuously changing. We have been eating there since 1998 and there has never been anyone who knows us and I doubt we ever even got the same wait staff twice!"

  • "I chose to take my mother, aunt and sister - who are all from the suburbs to Dine Out Boston. The Chart House offered a great deal (3 course lunch for $20 per person). It was delicious and affordable!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Food was OK, pricey because it is on the waterfront. Restaurant is clean and decor is updated and nice. As there are so many good seafood restaurants in Boston, would not recommend if you can eat outside of the Seaport district. Service was very good but cannot make up for the lack of flavor in the food."

  • "It was just okay. The martini tasted bland. Had the shrimp scampi. Needed more taste to it. Have had better. Irish coffee...not strong enough. The only highlight was the Boston Cream Pie. Moist and tasty. The waitress was nice enough but we felt rushed from beginning to end of the meal. We did love the ambiance of the restaurant and noted the outdoor dining area which must be nice for summer dining."

  • "Our first time dining at CHart House. It was lovely. We had a wonderful lunch, and due to restaurant week, great price. Would return. Also we were giving a card with something off the next visit., so that is a good incentive to return.l"

  • "My friend and I went for restaurant week. When we were seated we had to request the restaurant week menu since it was not offered to us. That special menu only had 4 entrees to choose from and we were told that one of the items was already sold out. Other than that it was a very nice experience. I had the lobster stuffed schrod and it was delicious."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "The new spring menu sounds interesting, and I tried the scallops and cucumber salad. It was a nice LIGHT entree, but cost over $30. There were 4 scallops on the plate. The seasoning was quite mild. Definitely not worth the price."
