Chart House met out expectations and our guests enjoyed it very much. This was in spite of the fact that it was raining cats and dogs and there was not much to see outside even from a window table. The waitress was friendly and the service was excellent. Gazpacho soup and fried asparagus were excellent. Main entries of shrimps in various styles, stuffed snapper, salmon were all very good. Some chocolate desert and sorbet that my guests and wife ordered were exceptional. The bottle of Chardonnay was priced correctly but tasted so so. The setting on the ocean is always a feature of the Chart House chain. I was a bit dissabpointed in the small size of the windows compared to the majority of the walls which are charming old brick. Anyway, the wine list was great. The menu was outstanding, including appetizers. I would not have normally expected Chart House to be somewhere you go for the food. Usually, the view. The food and service at the Boston location was excellent. My guests were delighted. I requested a seat by a window and they complied and even gave both my husband and myself menus with "Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary" wishes printed at the top of the menus. A few years ago when I was celebrating a special birthday, they preprinted menus with Happy Birthday wishes with my name at the top of the menu. They even put a little "VIP" card on your table to make you feel very special. Restaurants that go the extra mile mean a great deal to me since we dine out often. Overall the experience was very good. We noted a small lack of training in the service though as the waitress was unable to uncork the bottle of wine. Also, we were brought our salads and realized we had no forks. The only issue is that the kids menus have complimentary drinks only from the soda fountain. We had to pay extra 3-4$ for milk and lemonade a for the children. Our recent experience felt like the old days. We received a warm welcome, attentive service, the cocktails were excellent, and our mixed seafood grills were exceptional. we could tell the hostess was breaking in some new people and they were unaware of where to sit us when they sat us next to a large and loud party but we asked to sit at the next table to have a little buffer. we were accomodated and it was fine. they also forgot to give us the menus with the birthday girl's name but we had to ask.

Clam chowder was excellent, loaded with clams, though a bit on the salty side but that was fine with me, just kept dipping my bread in there to even it out. Ordered the fried calamari which was a little on the overly deep fried side, but still good. Had the prime rib, very tender and juicy. Molten lava cake for dessert was superb, but was just too full to enjoy it completely. Next time we'll skip on the extra app and just enjoy the meal. The wait wasn't too bad when we got there, but we did have to wait about 10 minutes past our reservation. We sat at the bar and the drinks were fantastic! The bar tender was very friendly and made the time go by quickly. We then had our main course upstairs and the waiter was fantastic also! Very attentive. And of course, the food out OUTSTANDING!
