Chart House Restaurant - AlexandriaPre Father's Day DinnerI took my significant other to celebrate his 1st Father's Day on Saturday evening. Although there was a huge crowd, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding! Our server Mike was great. I ordered the "Surf and Turf" and my husband ordered the "Mixed Seafood Grill"... the serving sizes were huge and our mojitos were delicious!!This is my 2nd time dining at this restaurant and I will definitely be back again...6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWarm and Attentive ServiceWe were celebrating a special occasion and the Chart House staff really made it wonderful -- from the arrangements to the wait staff. We have been amazed in the past, too, at how such a large restaurant can personalize the experience for ordinary diners. The restaurant interior is beautiful and fairly quiet despite being very busy. The view over the Alexandria waterfront and Potomac River is spectacular. The food is well-prepared and the portions are substantial. We love the salad bar. The service is gracious and professional. The menu was printed with a personalized Birthday greeting at the top reflecting a note sent with the reservation. A coveted "window table" was secured after a much shorter than anticipated wait. Dessert was brought with a single candle and NO singing (!) and no special request, to make this dining experience exceptionally pleasant. What brings us back is the wonderful location: great view of the Potomac River, Wilson Bridge and Old Town Waterfront. Outstanding seafood entrees with GREAT service. We had TWO waiters attending to us at all times. Very polite and accommodating.
Stuffed Shrimp with crab was just great. Also had the Crab Cakes and Stuffed flounder with Crab.

Everything was great! I do think it worth mentioning that despite noting in our reservation that it was a special occasion for our anniversary, we still waited 20 minutes to get a window table. She was friendly and attentive, gaveing us refills on our drinks and water. The kitchen was very slow. We waited about at least a 1/2 hour for our food to arrive. I had Cream of Crab Soup which was very flavorful and had a good amount of crab meat in it. Others had the Blue Crab Sandwich which they said was also excellent. The room was very cold temperature wise and it was also very noisy.
