Charlie Palmer Steak - RenoToo Slow ServiceThis was an outstanding steak house. Too bad the timing and speed of service suffered. Our group of 6 arrived at 6pm, well ahead of any rush. We had an 8:30pm show to see, thinking we had way to much time to kill. By 7:45, I begged for the dessert menus, and told them we needed to be out of there, with check paid, by 8:15 (the show was in the same building). By 8:08, still no sign of desserts and I asked again. The manager carried some of them out, trying to apologize, saying enjoy. Instead, I frowned and said we have no time to eat or enjoy them, making the ending of a great meal quite sour. We scarfed what we could and had to run. And the main meal was so great. There were multiple waiters/servers/managers who were paying close attention to our every need. All were incredibly friendly, as well, taking time to ask us questions and chat just the right amount without being too much. The meal finale was a specialty dessert offered to us in celebration of a birthday, which was far above our expectations. The service was unbelievable with no less than 5 different people serving our every need. We purchased a $50 for $25 certificate from the Hotel with our stay. The servers were all above and beyond our expectations. The services wasn't bad, food was delivered in a timely manner someone was close by if you needed anything, but it was a bit annoying. They assigned three servers to our table. One to take the order, one to server the food and one to ??. During the meal, each of the three servers asked us is we were enjoying the meal multiple times, a total of 7 or 8 times. I get it that they are concerned and want to make sure the food was prepared to our satisfaction,but I would rather only be asked once or twice, by the server who took our order and not his helpers. We had requested a table in the back to be away from the casino noise. Surrounding was also very nice until the party of guys in the back room became super loud and obnoxious. This had a ricochet effect on other dinners and they in turn started to talk and laugh louder to be heard. Management did take care of the problem but only after we pointed it out to them.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is excellent andThe food is excellent and their attempt to keep the prices down by including a house salad and a side with the entree makes for a very nice meal. All portions are generous and nicely prepared. The Staff treats us like old friends although we only dine a few times a year. The little extras that arrive for the table makes the evening even more special. A very nice wine list that truly includes reasonably priced bottles as well as wines by the glass. The CP champagne is exceptional. A lovely touch was the Banana's Foster prepared as usual tableside - but with an updated preparation of an old, but in this case not dated steakhouse favorite.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm from Cali, finally Fois Gras!Wow! The food was awesome! I ordered the Fois Gras appetizer and almost fell off my chair! It was delicious especially since my wife and I live in California and can no longer get Fois Gras. I ordered the Duck entree and my wife ordered the "natural" prime filet..both were very good. Service was good as well. He was a bit disrespectful. I like the food here, but I wouldn't return just because of him. We plan to make this a tradition!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's been a couple of yearsIt's been a couple of years since hubby and I made the trip here.Since our last visit, they have now changed format to a side and salad or soup being included instead of an add on. Food and service was exceptional as always. The only issue was the fact that there was a table with 3 adults and about 5 kids and the kids wer enot on their best behaviour for the environment. Of course being in a casino hosting a conference/event where many children are involved, it wasn't exactly surprising.

The sides are definitely large enough to share and the variety is such that you feel that you have been at a buffet. Our only comment was that the steak were very flavorful but a bit chewy-both the filet and the rib eye. Although we ate in the dining at night, our server was kind enough to allow one of the children to order off the lounge menu. The chimmichurri sauce for the steak is delicious! We also tried the duck which was great. Recommend the Beet salad as well. From the reception gal to the bus boys, absolutely welcoming. Our waitress, Angelina, and her partner, Erewyn, were genuinely gracious and kind. The steak was perfect! We ordered a side of fries, mushrooms, and brussle sprouts. The sides we're Okay, not great like they we're last time. The house salad was yummy. The service was very good. We were celebrating a special occasion and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. It was an excellent meal, wonderful friendly staff and the atmosphere was perfect.
