Diner Reviews
  • "Service was terrible, especially for a restaurant of that caliber! Waited nearly 40 minutes just to place our order and the server never came back to check on us, other than to take our order and drop it off."

  • "We love the food and the service, but unfortunatelly the noise level makes it impossible to enjoy the company you are with"

  • "The food was delicious, the crisp skin chicken was to die for as was the cesar salad. The service was not so great, we weren't given menus when we were seated and it took over 15 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. He was nice, but slow. I would probably return just because the chicken was THAT good but at those prices the service should be excellent."

  • "We were looking forward to finally trying out this restaurant. We were surprised how easy it was to get a table on a Friday night. Maybe that should have been our first clue. The first thing we noticed the bar was busy. And it stayed that way all night. The dining area was maybe half full. I started with the butter lettuce salad and my husband had the soup, both were ok. For my main course, I ordered Filet Mignon medium cooked. It came out more on medium well side so it was a bit dry throughout. I thought about returning it but didn't bother at that point. my husband ordered the rack of lamb and his was cooked perfect. We ended up skipping dessert but still ended up with a $200 bill (we ordered 1 cocktail each)."

  • "A very mediocre lunch experience for the money. My son't birthday. Service was slow on the champagne, too fast on the rest. Dumping all at once pretty much. Steak was not cooked properly and had to send it back. Won't go back to eat. Fun for drinks."

  • "We had dinner there on a Friday night for Date Night and was not diappointed! The Ahi Tartar and Salmon Sashimi were great appetizers. The Rib Eye melted in my mouth and my wife enjoyed her Duo Pork. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was energized. It was overly a great meal and we would definitely return."

  • "I took my son to Charlie Palmers as a fancy dining experience. Our waiter was fantastic and directed us to featured dishes that we would like. He was great! We followed his advice and our meal was truly amazing. The ambience is wonderful, classy and relaxed. The service is impeccable. We would definitely choose Charlie Palmers over Flemings any day!"

  • "We went to Charlie Palmers for a special lunch during the week. It started off a little rocky because we had no waiter for the first 10 minutes and had to call someone over. Once that was settled things went smoothly from there. The plantains as an appetizer were filling and we couldn't get enough of the Pico de gallo salsa. I had the blackened salmon salad which was much more filling than I expected. The two dressings were subtle and delicate enough to complement the salmon, avocados, cucumbers and other fresh veggies in the salad. My husband had the beef sliders which were seasoned perfectly and the rich, yet delicious Mac and cheese. Loved the look and feel of the restaurant and would go again."

  • "I am a little disappointed in our lunch. The salmon as well as the chicken was overcooked although the accompaniments to these dishes were very good and tasteful. Other side dishes served were indeed also very good and tasty. Nevertheless, I do think this restaurant is quite worthy of another try."

  • "We had excellent service, enjoyed wonderful entrees and desserts! It's a little loud near the bar so ask for a table further away if you're a quieter party."

  • "Great food, nice portions, and great service for 3 course Prix fixe lunch $25."

  • "Chef Kim really upped the ante here at Charlie Palmers! He added 3 new appetizers that were out of this world delicious-a must try for all the foodies out there. Ahi, prawns and a steak tartare-amazing! We tried the flat iron steak this trip and loved it as well. Great potatoes with this dish. Very excited to see the creativity of this talented chef."

  • "For a restaurant with a big time chef's name, the food was pretty ordinary. Three of us dined and agreed that, sadly, the salads and bread were the best parts of the meal, despite each ordering a different entrée (one from the pre-theater menu). The quality of the steak was disappointing: stringy & chewy, and the salmon was oversalted with a cloying lemon sauce. The apricot panna cotta was tasty but the texture was off, too gelatinous. Service was competent but hurried and insincere. Overall not worth the prices. This is the sixth time we've dined here, I think we keep hoping it will get just a little better at meeting our expectations, but next time we'll probably just give it a miss. There are so many other good options in the SCP area."

  • "I can always count on Charlie Palmer's for hosting a business lunch. It is an elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere and not too noisy so you can hear your lunch guests. The food is consistently good and the service is attentive."

  • "Dinner clientele were poorly dressed, obnoxious, and profane. We were looking for a more civilized experience."

  • "Went here for dinner with my mom and the we both agree how delicious the food is here. The service was really good! Def recommend it! "

  • "My wife and I went their for a date. The service was excellent every need taken care of. My wife ordered a drink and didn't like it. She only drank half and ordered a different drink the server asked if she didn't like it took it off our bill without even asking. The food was delicious my wife ordered the flat iron steak and said "wow" afterwards. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and was decent size. I had the Halibut special. The seafood was fresh and seasoned to enrich the taste. Afterwards they gave free dessert, mini tart, Perfect touch! All in all a great experience, would go back. Our bill was $110 for both plates and 4 drinks w/appetizer. Will definately go back."

  • "We went here for Mother's Day celebration. They only served Mother's Day special meal. Every course of the food is so salty. Not worthy at all while paying almost $100 each person. "
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Made reservations on open table, check menu, usually we pick possible our meals, in the restaurant they said there was only mother day menu, not what we saw on line, we stay and order from the mother day menu. a few minutes latter they serve other people meals that I saw on the on line's menu. I sure they wanted to push the mother day menu, poor choices and overprice. This is the first time I complain about my dinning experiences, see my record. Will not go back to this place and hope you Open Table do something about this. Totally lack of respect shame on you. Dr. Ralph Sanchez jr."

  • "Great place that my wife and i frequent regularly, but mother's day brunch was surprisingly expensive and took the day pleasure out of eating there. "

  • "Been to Charlie Palmer for the last 3 Thanksgivings in a row, and this last time for Mother's Day. The food is uniformly very good -- had a terrific baked salmon and an unusual take on key lime pie. Portions are a bit small for the money. Service is VERY attentive, and a mistake on this trip was fixed in minutes. I was there with family, but saw others there with dates -- it's a great place for that. When full, the place is loud, and the lights are kept low at night, so it's best for adults. From past experience, though, kids are well taken care of if you bring them. Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale's is a strong all-around performer."

  • "We decided to try the chef's tasting menu for our meal this time. Amazing. Chef Kim came out and discussed what we liked and he personally brought out each dish and explained it. We did 6 courses and each one was perfect-paired nicely with different wines. Great job on the pairing too. It was so fun and such a treat for us. Will be doing this again and can't wait to see what the chef will come up with next! Thank you for a wonderful evening."

  • "We stretched for something fancy for Mother's Day Eve even though we had the kids with us. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. "

  • "The chicken soup was amazing. I got the small soup/salad, and it was delicious, filling, and not heavy! Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was bright and cheery! It wasn't crowded at 12:00 so the noise level was not as "lively" as it typically tends to be later in the evening!"

  • "My daughter, Chrsitine's FAV restaurant! We decided to eat early and ordered all appetizers. Wow, the Brussels sprouts are to die for. The dates with bacon wraps you can eat it all night long. The cured meat and cheese plate is yum too! We had a wonderful time."

  • "Great restaurant. Food and serve are alway excellent. The food presentation and taste is great. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion. "

  • "Food was a little salty this time around, service was slow and it was not even crowded and food took so long, we felt like they lost our order"
    Dined on 4/26/2014
  • "Not quite up to the standard I expected. Nothing was bad but nothing was memorable, and for the price that does not work for me. Most of the dishes were over thought, with too many ingredients and sauces we just ok. I would go back but the price would need to be much better. Now im not a cheap skate. I have eaten at over 30 3 Michelin stared restaurants so i obviously dont care about the price. If the food is great and or the service is great then the price does not matter. But i guess i should have known with a restaurant inside of a mall."

  • "They have changed their menu. The food was fine, but not great."

  • "We had a party of 4 dining Friday Night, We were seated and the waiter came over and asked about water and not cocktails and left, we then ordered drinks after about 10 mins and then it took 15 mins to get drinks. Ordered Appetizers and those came out in a timely manner, but the waiter was very inattentive which was not a great way to start. We ordered dinner and came out and two dished were good and hot the other one was cold and there was one that had spoiled scallops. We called a manager over and he did all he could to save the evening and could not. He did do the right thing and paid for comped out dinner and we left and went to Capital Grille, which is always a pleasure to go to."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "It took 20-25 minutes for our first cocktail to come to the table. After several apologies it finally came out after we had finished the first course. Wouldn't you think they would comp the drinks? No. Very tacky. If you are going to charge upscale prices then your service must match."

  • "The food is great , service too. The place is is just not my cup of tea, having all couples sit at tables against a wall with tables for 2 next to each other , you're close enough to hear each other's conversations except the music is so loud you can barely here yourself."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "The food was memorable and well done. We tried the specials which consisted of the oysters and the Porterhouse which we decided to split. We also ordered the bacon-wrapped dates. Overall, the quality was high but for the price I would only consider going every so often."

  • "Met up with our adult kids for a last minute dinner out. It was all of our first time to this restaurant. Central location to everyone's work, great service and fun menu. The bar looked like a good place to hang out with friends. Going back again for date night :)"

  • "Michel was our waiter, and I appreciated his outstanding service. I took his recommendations, each was perfect. My steak was cooked perfectly. The wine was paired well. And the chocolate molten cake with pomegranate ice cream, that was a real treat. Cannot wait to return again!"

  • "Recommend happy hour at the bar which seemed to be a happening scene (till 6pm and restarts at 9pm), not sit-down dinner as the group of girls that I went with opted for. We ended up paying $40/head for a drink each and some small plates, and walked away still hungry eg $15 ravioli on app menu only has two pieces! Felt pressure from the waiter to order more food which was also uncomfortable. Food itself was tasty but just wouldn't plan to pay that much for it again."

  • "We tried for years to find a time that we could dine here. There is always a long wait to get in, and reservations at 7:00pm are not to be found. For our anniversary dinner, we decided to take the 8:00pm reservation and finally give it a try. Not at all what we expected. Dining room was nice, light & open. Lots of families with small kids. We were expecting a more traditional chop house with more adults. Waiter was French, boorish & annoying. He kept trying to make jokes, which may have been funny in Paris, but just came out insulting here. Wine selection was really good. Our 1st choice was out of stock, but that happens. Our second choice was very good. However, the food was just 'ok' and portions were tiny and prices were high."
