Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley’s serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality.   • "Great place! No wait, busy yet quiet, excellent service. Everything from soup to nuts was very good, though I'd prefer they not over-smoke the steaks. I'd just as soon have a more natural, traditional flavor. Also, side dish portions are too small for a steakhouse. Those things aside, though, Charley's offers an excellent dining experience, and I'd certainly go back again."

  • "if you like a great steak with fantastic service Charley's is the place to get it in the Tampa Bay Area. Make sure you make a reservation your going to miss out if you just try to walk in. While wait for our table, I say no more than three minutes, four or so parties walked in without reservations and were told they had no room in the dinning area that night."

  • "Our waiter Dan was most attentive and knowledgable. The timing of the food was perfect and cooked as requested. Final tab can be a bit pricy when drinks enter the picture. ($200 total for me and my wife- with 1 bottle of wine).Aged meat tastes and cooks slightly different than norm. Salted caramel cheesecake was amazing. All said, great restaurant, super friendly and courteous staff. Only negative was table of drunken idiots across from us, spilling drinks and laughing uncontrollably at whatever....not what you want to deal with when celebrating a wedding anniversary."

  • "I had bragged to my children (grown) how good it was based on previous visits. A birthday celebration for one of them had us there for the evening. For the price I expect more. The lobster mac was VERY salty and the steaks were tender but totally lacked flavor. The spinach for two was more like for one and was chewy. The atmosphere was great but the dinner was disappointing. For a 300.00 meal for four it should be better."

  • "It's been awhile since our last visit because we had very disappointing, rude, inattentive service last time. However, this visit was an awesome recovery to the Charley's we know and love. We had the Bison and Wagyu steaks, & they were tasty, flavorful, & succulent bliss! We did not really like the roasted cauliflower but Charley's sides ALWAYS leave something to be desired. Get your veggies at home, & eat the garlic bread, salad (dressing on the side otherwise it's mush), carrot cake, & Letitia Pinot & and you should be a happy camper! :)"

  • "The food and service were very good, my only advice to anyone dining here would be to specifically ask how much the "specials" are......we did not ask and assumed the special ribeye steak would be around $30-$40 just like most of the other steaks on the menu. The server never told us the price and the ribeye special ended up being $89 each (we ordered 3). The same was true for the appetizer and veggie specials. The appetizer my husband ordered was 2 crab cakes and they were $18.95, much higher than all of the other appetizers. The veggie was a lobster macaroni and cheese which cost $14.50 as opposed to all the other veggies on the menu which were around $4-$7. The total for my dinner for 6 cost $453 before tip! Ask for prices!"

The ambiance was thrown off a bit because the windows we sat next to overlooked a nearby hotel dumpster but other than that everything was great. The service was phenomenal and our server made great recommendations on food and wine. I had the bison and it was awesome. It is a little pricey but it was worth it. This is a very good place for special occasions. I will definitely be going back."

  • "1. The food quality was just OK. The creamy spinach and filet mignon we're not the best ones we ha tried. 2. We do not mind paying high prices when the food is excellent. 3. When making the reservation I noted that it was my husband's birthday. Most restaurants usually bring a brownie or something to the table or at least a little candle at the end of the dinner. At this restaurant apparently they either select who to treat or they may offer this service. If I had been asked if I wanted something special for my husband I wouldn't mind to pay. Interesting enough, they brought a little dessert and candle to another person to the table next to ours. The waiter new about my husband's birthday because he mentioned it when we arrived."

Suzi never came to refill our water glasses, and we had to pour our own wine. Needless to say we were so rushed that we didn't even have time to relax and enjoy. Very disappointing."
