Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley’s serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality. We did mention that it was our anniversary and they pulled out all the stops to make it a special night for us. A definite must go to for anyone in the Central Florida Area as a resident or a visitor."

  • "Charley's has a dramatic wood pit grill you see as one walks in. The furnishings are dark oak and leather. The waiters are impeccably dressed and knowledgeable about the menu. The wine list was extensive and varied. BUT the portions are offensively huge and overpriced. The steaks were well seasoned but dry. The lobster was overlooked. For that price and ambiance one expects the food to be exquisite, not just acceptable. The wine list was clearly the high point."

  • "The menu said the Lobster Bisque was finished tableside with sherry. The server just put the soup in front of me and walked away, I had to ask him to bring the sherry. We weren't asked to test the steak for the desired doneness when they were served. We were told the specials but not the prices and ended up with a $15.95 plate of mushrooms. Not worth it. Next time I will always ask a price for the special. It took forever for the dessert to arrive. Wasn't worth the almost $200 it cost for 2 people. Won't go back. It was a birthday celebration too so it's too bad it wasn't perfect."

  • "Charley's is well known, but unfortunately we caught them on a bad night. Only one of our 3 steaks was cooked properly. One ordered medium well was delivered rare, the second ordered medium was delivered extremely rare as well. Our server never came back for almost 15 min so the offer to "cook" the steaks longer was a little late. On a positive note, the wine list is tremendous and the atmosphere is classy."

  • "Disappointed in this chain. Visited fishbones in lake Mary last year and had a HORRIBLE experience, was gun shy but decided to give Charley's on I-drive a try having had great experiences previously at Charley's in Tampa. Food was not worth the price by any means. The steak was mediocre, potatoes mediocre as well. The gator tail and fried green tomatoes were the highlight. Had a watermelon margarita as well that was good, but not worth $10 really. I had called ahead a few days prior enquiring if they stocked a specific brand of beer for a birthday we were celebrating as it is the person of honor's fav, was told it was stocked, only to arrive and find out it was NOT. Service was ok not great for the non-optional gratuity."

  • "I recently spent 4 days in Orlando and was looking for a good if not great steakhouse. After searching Tripadvisor and making a note, I also asked a local resort worker and his first comment was, I always recommend Charley's because I never hear anything back bad about Charley's. The steak choices and quality of meat was excellent. If you are not big eaters get an appetizer, (we got the macaroni and cheese) and share it and a steak. We both got the filet and was not disappointed. Very very good."

  • "Although many people recommended this restaurant it was a terrible experience for me and 6 of my staff members. We all ordered filets. Everyone of them were not cooked correctly. All the steaks were extremely dry. They brought the steaks back out they were cooked right but no flavor...very odd considering they are known for their steaks. Most of all the sides were luke warm to cold. I complained to the manager he said he would take the filets off. We get our bill and he had taken $20 off instead of the $35 like he said he would. So I asked our server and he takes the check to a manager and brings it back and there was an additional $1 taken off!!! R u kidding me. These people are morons!! Total disappointment. Also had to ask for refills."

There was an incredible wine selection. This was our first wedding anniversary and they were quick to recognize and provided a complimentary dessert as well. A nice touch and a great steak house."

  • "Took some clients to Charlie's. Even though we had a reservation we waited 30 minutes for our table. Which isn't the end of the world since some of our party was running late. Unfortunately each person's steak (6 people total) was overcooked. One person's was so well done it had to be sent back. Service was overly friendly, which can be good an bad. Pricing is on par with a steakhouse, but not worth it for well done meat. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I do not plan of visiting again."

  • "We went to Charley's on I drive in Orlando for our anniversary. My husband ordered one of their famous steaks and he prefers his steak well done, so, he ordered it medium well. They butterflied it and it turned out dry, even for his taste, but flavorful. I ordered the chicken breast, hollandaise style and thank god I did, because my chicken was so dirt dry I couldn't have eaten a bite of it without the extra sauce I requested. It was so tough I could barely cut it. I think they also need to update the restaurant.. all those creepy old pictures need to go! The service however, was very good. We had a very nice and knowledgable server."

  • "Good news: Crab cakes were superb - the best I have had outside of Maryland. Asparagus was excellent. Bread very good. A companion said their loaded baked potato was the best he ever had - maybe he doesn't get out much? Rib eye taste was superb. But parts of this were so tough they were very difficult to eat - not OK for $15 rib eye let alone this one for $50. The waiter? Stop lecturing and reciting speeches. Don't tell me you don't bring the bread until later. Don't touch the sample cuts with your hands - and then don't wipe your hands on your pants! Don't leave me with my drink glass dry for long periods of time. And don't be arrogant - neither you nor your restaurant is good enough to merit arrogance."

  • "The cornerstones of a great steak house is a perfect steak flawlessly executed, frankly simple but perfectly prepared absolutely fresh sides, all delivered with attentive yet unobtrusive service. For our recent group outing the steak was spot on, sides flawless, but the service slow and absent attention. While we wanted the chance to visit and talk 3.5 hours was a bit draggy for dinner, taking the steak knives with the salad plate clearance, delivering the steaks in two batches separated by 4 or 5 minute (for a group of 6?), those absent knives sat staring at their steaks, having to track someone down for knives then again for the bill, searching another time for the couple sides which got missed? The auto 18% gratuity cemented never again."

  • "I have been here 3 times, the first time was awesome and the last two were very disappointing. The last time in particular I ordered a steak cooked medium and the filet mignon came out very charred and burnt on the outside and rawl on the inside. I will not be coming back"
