  • "The view is great overlooking the CHS harbor but the food was average. Tuna special was flavorful but dry and not very hot. The mac and cheese was not hot and overwhelmed with bread crumbs. With hardwood floor and no curtains, it's rather loud. Service was average and his recommendations weren't great. There are many other CHS and Mt Pleasant restaurants with better food and service."

  • "Lunch was empty on a Wednesday afternoon. Server had no one to talk to but us. Somewhat annoying. Wife had the Grouper sandwich which she enjoyed. I had Shrimp Scampi over linguine but I guess they were short on linguine because it was served in a soup bowl. Made the 5 shrimp look large!"

  • "Had shrimp and grits this time - excellent choice. Had a delicious piece of Red Velvet Cake that was enough to share with 5. Love this place!"

  • "Booked restaurant cos staying in hotel. Lovely big room with gorgeous view of aircraft carrier & water. Service slow but friendly. Waited ages for bread then meal. 2 of us had steak - one not cooked how we asked. Tasted funny - not nice. Other guest had fish & chips which was far to salty. Expensive for what it was too."

  • "My family visited the Charleston Harbor Fish house on a Saturday night after making reservations through Open Table. We were seated promptly and at a great table overlooking the harbor. Our server, Danielle, was attentive, professional and very nice. We ordered raw oysters and fried pickles for appetizers and they were fresh and tasty. Our entrees were pecan crusted grouper, shrimp and grits, lobster ravioli and crab cakes and everything was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect, even for sharing a bite or two around the table. For dessert, we had key lime pie and a HUGE Milky Way chocolate cake slice. Both were very good and ended our meal on a high note. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town. Thank you, Danielle!"

  • "Ate there earlier in our vacation and everyone wanted to return. The food and location are both spectacular. We went to the roof top bar and found that to be very fun also with great views"

  • "We are local. This was our first time at the Fish House. The crab cakes we had had more filler than crab; the steak was under cooked. It came very rare vs medium which is what was asked for. The tuna was excellent but did come veryrarebutService however was fine and server very polite. As to the atmosphere, we went for the sunset and had requested a table by the window. However the noise level at the bar was so loud we asked to be moved so we could have a conversation."

  • "1st confirm. Was for 7,hostess said 6! 2nd sat down at 7 dinner didn't come til )8:20 and we had 2 under 6 yrs. Waiter said it was late cause of a 20 top,we looked thru restaurant, no such table! Hush pup were liquid inside! Waiter "pushed" Alcohol on us because of long wait, not with 2 little ones w/ us! With so many great restaurant. in the area, I would recommend other places first. We have lived in Charleston for 26 yrs and have never waited so long on a Mon. night"

  • "My overall impression of this restaurant is excellent if you like small portions, nothing hearty here. Our meals were just right to where you won't get stuffed but you will have enough room for dessert. Our waiter was easy to get along with, was a lil' knowledgeable of the menu and we made ourselves right at home."

  • "Third time visiting Fish House. After a company outing, and a date with the wife, went back for Brunch. Food was awesome, views specatular and we are from the area and still love it! Highly recommend the place. Only thing not rating the food outstanding is the syrup that came with the waffles. Way way too out of the box with the gourmet syrup, and has a very very bitter aftertaste. Stick with pure maple syrup."

  • "My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend in Mount Pleasant. We made late reservations at The Fish House with hopes of being seated at a table with a premium view. When we arrived the staff was very hospitable, however we were seated in a room with a different feel from the rest of the restaurant. The room was very bright and the view wasn't as fabulous as it is in the other side of the restaurant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful when we asked for a different table. The service was outstanding, and the meal was very good. Next time we will go earlier, maybe for lunch, and will be specific about the table/view that we prefer. We will go back though, and would recommend to others."

  • "We have eaten a couple there other times. The food has been good each time. The service this last time was awful. Waiter was nice but was either oblivious or overwhelmed. Asked for butter for bread but had to ask twice and we had eaten all the bread by the time he got back. Had to be reminded twice if drink order and request for tartar sauce. The view is beautiful but there is definitely a training problem with wait staff. Our waiter told us he hoped we all had a wonderful experience as we left, and we all laughed as he seemed totally unaware of how frustrated we were. There are so many great restaurants in the area so we will bring our wallets to another one next time."

  • "Gorgeous view of the harbor; scallops were fantastic, but it took us 3 1/2 hours for six of us to eat. My kids definitely wouldn't last that long, so glad it was just adults. The service was so slow the waiter offered us free drinks, but then we were charged for them. They definitely need a new bartender- ordered a Mai tai and it tasted like alcohol on ice-had to send my drink back and the second one wasn't much better. My friend switched to wine because they couldn't mess that up. Our bill was all out of sorts, but it was my husbands 40th birthday so didnt want to spoil dinner with a scene. My friend asked the waiter to do something embarrassing like singing to my husband for his 40th- never did happen. Last time eating here."

  • "Our group consisted of 3 women. We were seated beside the window with a great view, the food was excellent and so was the service. I will definitely return, and in fact have recommended it several times already."

  • "This was my second time visiting this establishment and I was pleased once again. I was celebrating my birthday and it was nice and quiet and romantic. I could hear the other couple talk that we were with without yelling. I will definitely go back again. Oh and our waitress was the bomb cute smiling face and knew her menu."

  • "Our dinner at Charleston Fish House was the occasion of a 16th birthday. The service was excellent and they accommodated us by acknowledging the birthday girl, and bringing the cake with candle that we had brought. The food, however, was inconsistent. The crab cakes were quite good, but the 3 different fish dishes that we had were not. Each fish entree was overloaded with toppings that masked the flavor of the fish. A 'crispy' grouper was so loaded with a topping that the fish was mushy and lost any 'crispness' that was intended. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful and provides an exceptional sunset view. If the food preparation improves, we will return."

  • "Everything would have been very good but the noise level was so loud it really dampened the experience. I doubt if we will go back"

  • "This was our first time dining at this restaurant. On a previous visit to Charleston we saw the restaurant while on board the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point. Decided to try it on this visit to Charleston. Service was superb - waitress kept an eye on us and was readily available whenever we needed something. The food was exceptional and without a doubt I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. It is, however, somewhat pricey so just keep that in mind."

  • "It was our second dining trip. Te first was was great but this visit not so much. It was extremely busy which is good for the restaurant but took forever for us to get our food. Bistro steak was tough and not cooked as requested. Very small portion...did not look like 8 oz steak. Caesar salad was just average. Service was very slow and we were there for 2 and half hours. Very noisy when at capacity. I thought it was too expensive for the experience."

  • "Patrick the server was simply outstanding! He knew how to check and see if we needed anything without being there too long. The scallops were awesome BUT I didn't like the risotto that came with it..my fault as I didn't read the type."

  • "After making a reservation, we were seated and waited 10 minutes for the hostess to come back to take our drink order and then another 15 for the hostess to come back to take our order. Evidently there were not enough waitresses because we were told that our waitress was working a 30 top and didn't have time for us but hostess would take our order for our "waitress" to put in. We left."

  • "The service was poor. We had to repeatedly ask for anything we needed. They were not even busy so in my opinion service should have been better. My husband ordered a standard drink off the menu, it was not fit to drink. The food left a lot to be desired. Very disappointing. The view was amazing though. The location of this place is gorgeous."

  • "Best view in Charleston from the outdoor bar. Good atmosphere in the dining room. Service good. Bar drinks were mostly ice. Ordered oysters on the half shell and they were very small and not very good. Worst she crab soup I have ever had. Did not even taste like she crab. No crab in it, very salty and lots of cheddar cheese. Never had she crab with Cheese. My husbands grouper was good. Very expensive for the quality."

  • "We went to the Charleston Harbor Fish House on recommendations from several friends and were very pleased with our meals. There were 5 of us, and we ordered 3 appetizers, which were plenty. Our meals were all good; except the green beans weren't cooked long enough. The shrimp/oyster combo meal was huge. Our waiter brought me a piece of Key Lime Pie. He heard my family say something about my birthday. We will return."

  • "Absolutely Fabulous !!! The view was amazing and all of the wine and food that was ordered was so good! We had a martini glass full of chilled Mixed Seafood (like a ceviche but not chopped-up) A fig and Pear Spinach Salad and a Filet Mignon cooked Medium Rare with a Thyme Butter sauce and the Seared Sea Scallops cooked Med Rare. Had to skip on the dessert since we were too full though."
