I think that should be changed and other selections offered. Chicken or fish. Elegantly prepared and served. Beautiful european style restaurant makes for an enjoyable evening."

  • "We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and it was just okay. The host greeted us when we first walked in and he was very nice. The waiter took FOREVER to come to our table. I think we were sitting there for about minutes before we even received water. The waiter who took our order just mumbled and would barely speak up. All of the food was sort of bland. I read rave reviews on this place and was expecting to be blown away, but left underwhelmed. The black garlic potatoes could have used at least a sprinkle of salt or anything to spruce them up. I will say the steak was cooked perfectly, but again, it could have used more seasoning. The chef came by to check on our table as well as everyone else and he was very nice."

  • "My friend and I ordered the same dishes, and they plated our food incorrectly, putting her side on my sliver of what must have been the skinniest cow ever. Call me crazy but I grew up in Texas and I KNOW what a STEAK should look like. Became unfriendly when I wanted corrected. We had the apple strudel which looked beautiful, I could hear the chef yelling at the waiter about my sending it back and asking for the raspberry sauce to be removed from the plate, hate raspberry. Then I got a very sad looking strudel with no powdered sugar, or cream. When the bill was brought they charged us for a Bottle of wine, when we only had 2 gasses. I can get pretty darn full on $109 elsewhere, and get an actual steak and be treated respectfully."

  • "I took a friend here with a groupon just to check the place out. It seemed to be a much older crowd of diners. Mostly 60-70 something's dining in large groups. There must have been some sort of event going on that night. The host was very friendly and sat us right away. I was disappointed that it took over 10 minutes for our waiter to greet us and offer us a wine list. The food was delicious. My favorites off the 4 course menu were the lobster bisque, the top sirloin with the green peppercorn sauce and the applewood smoked bacon ice cream. The chef stopped by to ask us how the food tasted which I thought was nice. Overall we had a nice experience at Charivari and will definitely return."

  • "This is my third time and I will continue to come to this wonderful restaurant. We had fish from the Mediterranean sea and Dover sole. Both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The garlic soup was extraordinary. The desserts are powerful."

  • "An elegant, romantic dining room, with the culinary creations of chef Johann is an excellent combination. Consistently excellent food and a limited but very good selection of wines. Central Europe shines through Johann's cooking, with Western and South American twists that add the unexpected touch. This is the only place in town for the Austro-Hungarian torts, which makes each visit a delight. At this visit, we have a delightful piano player who proviced delightful background music at volumes that still allowed civilized dialogue. Bravo again!"

The Schusters have been thrilling us with their culinary delights for more than a decade; and their Valentine's Day menus added to pleasant memories for us.   • "It was a nice experience. The food was either a hot or miss... Some things were excellent like the sorbet, the spread paired with bread, and deserts. But the steaks were tough and rosco sauce did not complement it at all. Overall the food wasn't great, maybe if I ordered something else... Experience was great but probably won't be back because it was pretty pricey for ok tasting food."

  • "We used a Groupon because it was our first time at this restaurant. I looked they didn't want to sell it. The steak was just OK the portions were very small and the service terrible. Even the bread was hard. The brought me a check written by hand where they included 25% on tip. That is of the full "value" of the dinner without the discount for the group on. So it was not even worth it."

  • "Left hungry after 4 courses. Lobster bisque served in a bowl that was less than half full and temperature cool. Sorbet was barely enough to cleanse the palette. Serving of steak consisted of 4 very small half slices that when cut in half barely gave 8 tiny bites. One dessert was shared on separate plates between four people allowing for a couple of small bites. On a positive note, the food presentation was nice. I will not return as I could have eaten at Flemings or a high end steak house for the same amount I spent."

  • "I have been comming to Charivai's for some years. It is the perfect place to go before the opera, symphony, ballet or a play. Even if it is located in a strip center, the ambiance is very pleasant. The perfect table is in the corner with fenestration on two sides. They have sherries to sharpen the appertite. It is unhuried, still the service is attentive. The food is excellent. Looking at a web site ,with coupons, there were some excellent specials, however, I did not opt for those. The wine list was reasonable, mainly French and Californian. My selection of a Californian red, of a decent age was excellent and the price for the vintage was very reasonable. She will go out with me again."

  • "Reservation for Christmas dinner for two made online. Their website mentioned they have Christmas specialty like Christmas duck. We arrived 30 minutes early but restaurant is not busy so were promptly seated. Bread was served and was quite tasty. Had mimosas for opener. We got a sad surprise when were told hat they run out of both the Christmas duck and Quail dish that's only available for the day. We ends up with Fillet Mignon for boyfriend and rack of Lamb for me. Not impressed by steak but lamb is quite good. For dessert had sacher torte for him and hazelnut cake for me and they're really good. Overall was quite good experience but not optimal for missing the Christmas special dishes."
