  • "We had supper at Charcut based on a friend's recommendation. We were looking forward to the creativity and flavors that we had read about in restaurant reviews and from our friend. We were unfortunately disappointed. We both had salads to start, the beet salad and tomato salads. They were presented nicely but lacked flavour. We both had prime rib as we had heard about Albertan beef and were looking forward to it. The roast was cooked nicely but the meat again did not have much flavour and was a little on the tough side. The sides were huge portions but I was disappointed to see that summer squash was only zucchini. Overall, I felt the meal was lacking flavour and was expensive for what we got and did not justify the rave reviews."

  • "Fabulous meal with superb flavours! The charcuterie board had a great selection of meats, so much so, that the four of us couldn't finish it. The pork entree was very good and the fries second to none. I would recommend having one or two familiar beers on the menu for those who aren't adventurous. A good selection of wine!"

It was extremely noisy, I could barely have a conversation with my fiance and the menu is quite small although from what I understand always changing. The tuna conserva was a fantastic starter, mains were good as were drinks. Fine experience & service but in no rush to go back."

  • "I've come to Charcut for their lunch many times and am always blown away by the quality of the food. This most recent experience was marred by incredibly poor service. I recognize it's busy during lunch, however our meal took an hour and a half due to the large waits to actually get orders in and getting our food. Meal was delicious, but when you need to get back to the office, it's unacceptable to have waits like we did. I'll be coming back for the great food. I hope I don't get a repeat in the service experience."

  • "Went to Charcut for lunch for a friends birthday. I had the meatball sandwich which was more like a meatloaf sandwich and my friend had a steak and it was superb. Unfortunately the cookies which we got for desert that are usually served warm weren't warm and not as tasty. The most disappointing part was our service. Our server explained she usually worked nights and that's why she was "off". She may have been off but she sure didn't take anything off our bill."

  • "I came from Edmonton to the Stampede and have always heard great things about Charcut. We made a last minute reservation for dinner and arrived a bit early but they accommodated us quickly. The decor was rustic and stylish. It was our first time here and the menu was a bit confusing. Got the prime rib and steak. I liked that we were able to choose how many ounces we wanted for the meals. It was cooked to absolute perfection! Would definitely come back again to try more food at Charcut."

  • "My US-based family was blown away from the awesome cuisine made the Chef Jessica and the culinary team. The rabbit terrine was tasty (first time for us to try it!) and the mortadella and the house made sausage were divine! Our men ordered the 9oz burger and was very impressed with the taste and the ladies got the chimichurri steak which was fabulous as well. Would have loved to see Chef Connie or Chef John but we were equally delighted and honored to meet Chef Jessica - and we're looking forward to the opening of the charbar next year! Kudos all around. Our Washington based relatives were ecstatic that we chose Charcut for dinner! Thank you for the wonderful meal."

  • "Great spot to watch the end of the Stampede Parade, but the food is the attraction at this restaurant. Tables set up along Centre St near 9 Av provide the perfect spot for parade and people-watching. The lunch special featuring sandwich of the day, Parmesan fries, soup/salad and 2 warm chocolate chip cookies keeps me going back - delicious every time! The service is consistently attentive and friendly."

The sides are HUGE and didn't realize that half orders are available so we had a tremendous amount of wasted food...in my opinion, the servers should tell you if you're ordering too much food for in this case 2 people. Another restaurant to scratch off the list. I wouldn't rush to go back."
