Scott and Cheryl Moore6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceOur dining experience was just perfect for celebrating my father's 70th birthday. He had a wonderful time!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AM7th Anniversary CelebrationWe had such a great time at Chandler's on our 5th anniversary that we came back for our 7th anniversary... and we live 1,500 miles away. The food and service is outstanding! We especially loved the Black Orchid and the Cowboy Steak! Great wine list too.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceCiam was a delight! All questions answered well and wine suggestions were spot on. Food was very good, served hot.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper DiningThis was our second visit to Chandlers. Both have been great experiences. The food is great, the ambience superband the service outstanding.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMChandler's DeliversTook my wife out to celebrate 24th anniversary. Wanted someplace special. I heard Chandlers was the place, and it met my expectations. I ordered the New Zealand rack of lamb; my wife ordered the scallops. The lamb was very good, but not the best I've had. They were a little on the petite side. I traded bites with my wife and the scallops were buttery, flavorfull, and dreamy - as in I thought I was eating freshly harvested scallops by the sea shore in Malibu. I tried the 10 minute martini with Marks Maker whisky. Very good. Our waiter, Lucas, was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped guide me to pick out the best martini. He had been there 5 1/2 years. They comped us the chocolate soufflé - so I couldn't complain much. Order the mousse6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWe had a great experience, husband and I plus newborn. We were seated in a booth and no one looked twice at our infant. Had a wonderful dinner while he slept. Drinks, salads and main courses were great but we had the seafood for 2 appetizers and it seemed a little over priced. Great service too!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderfu dining experience. The restaurant has a beautiful decor. The food is amazing, the service is excellent. Our favorite appetizer is the Tuna Tower. Wow.
The swordfish was moist and melted in your mouth. My husband and I are real seafood lovers and he thoroughly enjoyed his Mahi
We understand from other diners that the steaks are outstanding. What a wonderful find. The bar area was jam packed and the entertainment sounded very good. I have recommended Chandlers to all of my friends.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing service! The service i've received is amazing. I've ordered a Kobe Beef Center Cut and a 20oz steak(i've forgotten the name). The Kobe beef was way too chewy and the 20oz steak is likewise. The manager is very willing to change them out with fillet mignon which is very tender and lean. Less flavorful than then center cuts but at least we do not need to chew all day to eat a steak. Nonetheless they have the best service when it comes to satisfying the customer needs.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, as always! We enjoy Chandler's every time we go. Excellent service, accommodating staff, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere.
This time was our anniversary and everyone we spoke to congratulated us. We enjoy Sundays at Chandler's for prime rib and the Pre Fixe menu. In Boise, you can't beat the chocolate soufflé.
This time we were running late for our hotel check-in and called ahead to try and change our reservation, they were extremely accommodating and moved it to the next available time. Pretty rare for a busy, popular restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat eveningGreat service, excellent food with a wide choice of wines. I recommend this restaurant to everyone that are in Boise.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Fine Dining in BoiseIt' the best in Boise. Two "10-minute" martinis (The Vesper: half gin, half vodka, lemon twist; Hendricks with cucumber) started the night--and there isn't a better bartender in town. Followed by the Oysters Rockefeller, which were divine to taste and see (served in their shells nested in spinach, red pepper and a delicate hollandaise allowing the fresh oyster flavor to shine. For the main course we selected the Bouliabase (lobster, clams, scallops, mussels, swordfish) served in the most delicious vegetable broth in a lovely French crock. The best New Zealand lamb chops prepared very rare paired with a L'Ecole private selection from the premium tasting list. Finished by sharing the chocolate soufflé which is a joy for the eyes and palate.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMChandler'sDelicious meals, great selection of wines, great atmosphere, attentive wait staff. Wonderful dining experience. We will be back for more special occasions!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Experience! We had a great experience as a party of 8 on Saturday night. The food and service were excellent! If you're a seafood snob, avoid the crab cakes and the oyster dishes, but the steaks, fish, sides, etc. were all wonderful!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but decentMy fiance and I went to Chandlers to celebrate our recent engagement. We wanted a nice quiet, romantic spot but ended up near the server station AND the door to the patio. The restaurant was fairly busy and when we asked to be relocated we were expecting to wait for a table. However our server instantly located a nice table for us and moved us with no fuss whatsoever. Best service in town! The food was decent, my fiance had the swordfish which was a bit dry and overly zested. I had the Cowboy Steak and it was so good I wanted to pick up the bone and gnaw on it. I would say we were very happy with the ambiance, jazzy music, food and especially the service! We will be going back after our wallets recover from what was a truly expensive night.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMChandler'sThis is our favorite Boise special occasion restaurant. It never disappoints for quality of service and food.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeHad a very wonderful dining experience. Didn't see/find/have anything that I could be negative about. Thanks Chandlers5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had another good experienceWe had another good experience here ... one of my better meals actually. The scallops over the truffled potato cakes were quite delish.
One thing that I will note as an area that Chandlers could improve is their cocktail program. It is not good at the present.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experience.Always a great experience. Wonderful service staff from the moment you enter till you leave. Food is always done to perfection.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh ingredients, well presentedThe food was well presented and delicious. I had duck which was presented two ways - sliced duck breast over a bed of red cabbage and shredded duck confit over wilted greens, with a side of polenta. My wife had the Atlantic King Salmon which she liked a lot but we were a little surprised that it was farm-raised, thinking that King Salmon was not normally farm-raised. It was very good in any case.
A jazz duo was playing throughout the evening - guitar and alto sax - a nice mellow mood.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMour Service was attentiveour Service was attentive and unobtrusive. drinks took a little long. Server at adjacent table was loud and energetic. Comping a dessert to our guest of honor was thoughtful and appreciated we will be coming back .4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent selection of winesExcellent selection of wines of all types. Pricey, but what you would expect for a nice restaurant like this. Nice piano music while you eat but it also makes the talking level go up to talk over the music.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMService is A-1 from beginningService is A-1 from beginning to end. Valet your car, when you finish dinner and payment your car awaits you in front of HOTEL 43.
Food and appetizers remarkable.
Always enjoy the Sunday Prime Rib.
Deserts fantastic as well.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA dining event!I travel 700 miles 3x/yr to dine at Chandler's, oh, and to see family :-); I live in the Bay area so have a choice of outstanding restaurants but this one is my favorite.
The servers are professional and ensure the dining experience is perfect.
The food....I do not eat beef..except 3x/yr and I am never disappointed; the steak knives need not be used.
Being satiated by my meal, dessert is not an option fo rme, except, the fresh berries with house whipped whipped cream.
Thank you so much for making the trip through the desert in a uhaul worth every grain of sand!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHit or MissThat comment usually elicits a big "uh oh," yet I'm giving Chandlers 5 stars. The misses are 2 prominently featured items that were duds. First, the bad: Cowboy Steak - 20 oz. dry-aged bone-in ribeye - was actually a bit tough. That much marbling yet still tough?? The other disappointment was the chocolate souffle - almost no chocolate in the souffle, just in the chocolate sauce - total yuck. But the good news is VERY good: the Wagyu flat-iron steak might be the best beef experience of your life, the bouillebaisse tastes like you're in Marseille, the Caesars salad was so fresh the leaves were still twitching, the chocolate mousse made my eyes roll back in my head, and the trifecta was superb!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMValet parking was a breeze.Valet parking was a breeze. Upon paying the bill, they had my car pulled up automatically4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEXPENSIVE BUT SO WORTH IT!Oh my! Where do I begin? From the moment you step through the glass doors, you know you are in a classy place. Spotless, demure lighting, beautiful cobalt blue accessory lighting. Waiters friendly but not intrusive; know their menus well. The food was exquisite! Delicious to the taste! My filet mignon cooked to my perfection; very flavorful and tender. Idaho baked potato delicious as was the asparagus, salad, sour dough rolls, just everything. The Cheesecake for dessert was to die for! Be sure to ask for the raspberry topping! I liked it better than the chocolate souflee, but that was special too. Very expensive, but you have to remember, you are not only paying for the food, but for the entire experience! Music delightful!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dined at ChandlersWe have dined at Chandlers several times. It is very pricey but the ambiance and service is high quality. The food is prepared with much care although it is not "to die for". We will continue to dine there as we learn what to order and what not to order.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe make a special stop andWe make a special stop and an over night each time we travel through Boise just for the great dinners we always have at Chandlers. Followed them from Sun Valley.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect night all around,A perfect night all around, great food, great music, great service, great company.
