That worked really well here. Crab cakes and tuna tartare were both good, but the Crab Rockefeller was the real killer. It's a huge plate with big chunks of crab, a buttery sauce, and plenty of bacon bits. So big and rich that it would be hard for one person to finish. First of all, it is in a beautiful spot on South Lake Union. The view is terrific. We were seated in a smaller area of the restaurant where there were only four large tables. The atmosphere in this room was quiet and intimate. We could actually hold a conversation at normal voice levels which is rare for Mother's Day brunches. The food was excellent. The coffee was fresh. The seafood, as expected, was incredibly fresh and impeccably prepared. The waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. We never found ourselves looking for or waiting for service. We had dinner here on Saturday evening. The evening was so nice we asked for a table outside and we got one with a great view of Lake Union. The view was absolutely amazing! The appetizer was great, and the main courses were even better. The crab legs and the truffled potatoes wedges were great! Chandler's definitely redeemed themselves. The first time was so good that I went back with my husband. The second time the portions were very small, hardly any crab in the pot pie, just flavor. It was such a disappointment. The first meal I had there the pot pie was loaded with crab. They ran out of the key lime pie, which was also excellent the first time. The did not substitute a different desert, and we didn't want ice cream or sherbert. They did give us a rain check for the key lime pie though.
I will definitely go back. It was a surprise and delight that the food portions were very large as we thought they might cut back given the special rates offered for the event. We asked another employee what they suggested for dessert & he suggested the Key Lime Pie. It was so amazing. It'll be hard not to order that when we come back. I went and sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. Both bartenders were great! The bartender (lady) let the hostess know I was in the lounge so when my table was ready she could find me. I was really impressed that when I made my reservation I asked for a window table and the staff made sure we had one. I cannot say enough about Maria! She is amazing! She made our night. Maria was so informative and descripive har suggestions were awesome. We will be back just to have her serve us. To top it all, the service, the ambience and the food were all super. We had halibut, salmon, crab, scallops and the chowder among the 4 of us. Halibut was a bit firm, but the other dishes were excellent. This place was easy to find, easy to park at (and it's free on Sundays) and they were expecting my colleague and me.
The dinner for $100 plus tips with no wine but with some desert was good and healthy, crab cake is a to-go thing for those not willing to deal with real crab legs. They've admitted me wearing a t-shirt and sport shoes but I'd feel more comfortable in business casual, indeed.
