The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Nicely presents and good portions. The wine list is not fantastic but plenty of choices to choose from with some good wines and nice selection of local wines. My only negative about the evening is that i think it is somewhat tacky to charge people $5.00 for parking but perhaps they do not own the parking lot.

  • Excellent food but watch your credit card

We made an "Open Table" reservation for this popular marina-view restaurant. Located on the shores of Lake Union, it is close enough to downtown to be vibrant, yet far enough away to seem quieter, cozier than right downtown. We started with cocktails and shared a crab cocktail. The crab sauce was spicier than most cocktail sauces, heavier on the horseradish than most, but the menu said that and my wife likes spicy. My wife ordered halibut and crab cake, and I ordered filet and crab cake; there's a reason these guys call it "the best in the world crab cake" with each crab cake mentioned on the menu. They are just compressed crab with just the right seasoning- very little filler like you typically see at other places. The filet was "fork cutable" and was cooked to perfection; my wife's halibut was tender and absorbed the flavors around it as it was supposed to. An excellent time was had by all- the only thing that ruined it a bit was the next day, when I got home, I noticed the credit card had a double authorization - two identical charges, held against my available funds. I called the restaurant, who said that when they turn in the paperwork, it would all straighten out. Of course, when I looked today, the "real" bill had posted, with the tip, and there was the duplicate authorization, still holding funds. I called Chandler's back today, and they said there was nothing they could do, I just had to wait the 3 days for the authorization to fall off. This was unacceptable, so I called BECU and explained the situation, and after looking it was obvious enough to them what had happened, and so he removed the authorization, releasing the funds. So, great place if you pay cash or use a credit card that has plenty of credit available for them to keep for a few business days. Otherwise, I'd recommend they 1) be more careful, and 2), actually resolve the problem and not push it off on the bank.

We live in Central Florida, Have been to Seattle twice in our lives and both times have had dinner at Chandler's Crab House. Every thing was great there. The restaurant is located on Lake Union, and overlooks the lake. Ambiance is very nice. This trip we didn't spend any time at the bar, but on the first trip we ate there more than once and enjoyed the bar prior to having dinner. The staff were very knowledgeable and polite, and took plenty of time to explain the menu. We'll be back!

3 of us came, we ordered the "high tower" appetizers (crab cake, calamari, beef sashimi) combo plus 6 oysters. Both were very good. I like the fresh salad on the side to compliment the protein. Then we had salmon, scallop, and cioppino. I really liked my cioppino, but were surprised that there were no crabs (given that this is a crab house). When we left at 8pm, Friday, it was still a full house and a waiting line at the door. That's a good sign.

We enjoyed everything about our lunch except the total price, which was a little bit sneaky-expensive. One entre, three small plates/soup, 4 glasses of wine for the two of us plus coffees. No dessert. Still $140 before tip. It's a nice place with good food and service, but $140???? Probably not worth it.

I came here with a friend for our date night as I was looking for steak and he wanted seafood. It is nice to go to a place that has both great steak and great seafood. The service was great, consistently checked back . He didn't some to our table to much nor too little. I like to order things that I can share and the portion size of the plates that we ordered were enough for us to share without one or both of us being hungry. I enjoy my steak cook medium-rare and it was cook perfectly. I look forward to going back to try some different food.

My wife and I were here for brunch. The crabcakes are the best ever, with lots of crabmeat and very little 'filler.' The hollandaise sauce on the crab benedict was very good and just the right amount. Many restaurants pile on the sauce like they're trying to hide the food but not here. It was all wonderful

I've always wanted to go to Chandler's Crabhouse, and I finally had the chance to go. I was expecting a lot more from a higher-end restaurant. I didn't think the service was up to par. It was very slow, and the waitress forgot to bring out certain things that she said she was going to. I saw a lot of angry faces when our water was filled, I didn't see the person who filled my water crack a smile throughout my dinner there. The food was also not as great as I thought it would be. The flavor of the salmon just didn't taste right, and it was such a small dish. It definitely wasn't worth the money. I also didn't like the parking situation there. The restaurant "validated" parking, but the fee was added onto our check. So much for "validation".

Watching an amazing scarlet sunset over South Lake Union from our window seating was a great beginning to our meal. The Ahi Poke filled my mouth with the simple flavors combined to perfection. The salmon was delicately cooked to a medium rare- keeping it moist - and lightly spiced allowing the unique flavors of the fish to be enjoyed. And the Key Lime Pie!!!! When it is done this well it cannot be described, only enjoyed. The wait staff was attentive but never hovered. The pace of the meal was perfect and allowed us to enjoy both the conversation and the meal. We will remember this evening as one of our best dinning experiences.

My friends and I dined during SRW and menu options looked delicious! The Ahi Tartare appetizer was the highlight of the night followed by the Molten Brownie dessert. I did not like the flavor of my steak. It was cooked well and tender but seasoned inappropriately. Plenty of salt and pepper with a tasteless brown sauce that had sour notes and garnished with greasy, over caramelized onions. Perhaps only the seafood would be good at Chandler's and not the steak. I should have chosen the Linguine Vongole instead.

We celebrated a birthday two weeks ago here and a great time even if the weather was gray and wet. Among the things we enjoyed were the oyster assortment, the cioppino, crab cakes, clam chowder, and Dungeness crab and artichoke dip. The server was friendly, professional, and helped make out evening memorable. We requested a quiet table and were seated in a side room which was more romantic and where conversations didn't rebound like in the main dining area. One of the highlights was an apple cider sorbet for dessert. We have been to Chandler's before for brunch and to eat outside at the bar (during summer). It's one of our "hey since we'll be in Seattle..." places.

I have always known that Chandler's Crabhouse is a fantastic place to go for seafood during the warm months when you can sit out on the water and watch the seaplanes land and take off, but that seems to be about the only reason to go. The meals are expensive, and though the portions are large, they are bland. I had the filet mignon and "world's best crab cake" combo. My girlfriend had the wild salmon + crab cake combo. Both plates had the largest piece of respective meats I've seen, which is usually a positive. However, the salmon, black rice risotto, crab cakes, and Yukon mashed potatoes (served with my meat) were all flavorless. All for $53 per plate. My filet was also charred, leaving a burnt aftertaste. They did replace it.

Booked for a Seattle Restaurant Week lunch thru open table to find there was no lunch special. Normally not a big deal, but was dining with a NGO nonprofit board member, of a group that feeds the homeless and does work on the Reservation. So, I think it went over their planned budget. Would have appreciated a call since we booked thru the restaurant week website and they wanted to treat us. Would appreciate more accurate listings, or notification.

I'm not a crab fan, but took my wife here for her birthday. I figured I'd be OK ordering fish, but was disappointed w/ the "Seared Ahi Tuna." It wasn't seared, it was cooked all the way through. Also, there was a breading on the tuna, that didn't fit. Imagine a cross between mozzarella sticks & canned tuna - that's what this was. On the positive side - my wife was happy with her king crab legs. So maybe stick with that.

There was an older lady on the grill that night, and let me tell you, she knew what she was doing. The prices were a little high on some of the items, and the crab cakes their known for were just good.. Nothing great.. Overall I was satisfied with this place and would return.
