Diner Reviews
  • "I have been at this place many time, however last time was a disappointment. We went to watch a soccer game but the tv volume was so low that it was like seing the game in a library. Then our waitress ( a lady in her 50s) was very unfriendly and did not care much about our table."

  • "You get in and get out. Service is timely, accurate and always very friendly. No complaints ever about the food; its done right and as requested. One person in our party said that the shrimp and bacon salad was excellent; very fresh and crisp. Seasoning is always right here, nothing sharp or strong just right. Drinks are refilled promptly. Quiet service and bright room makes it a convenient location for a casual business lunch. "

  • "Server disappeared once she brought me my food. Needed water never showed up. Had to find someone just to get me water to choke down a hamburger."

  • "The food choices were unique and interesting. The service was quite attentive. It felt more like a gastropub than a sports bar. The only thing they could use more of is more beer options."

  • "The atmosphere was good.Good food reasonable price. It is located in the heart of Kendall Square."

  • "$25 for food plus $20 to park (restaurant doesn't validate parking in hotel garage) = $45 for chicken on a bun, clam chowder, desert and ice tea. Next time I am willing to spend $45 for lunch I will take the T to the Taj hotel."

  • "Simple food for a very casual bite to eat somewhat above fast food."

  • "If you're looking to watch any sporting event, this is a good spot. It's connected to the Marriott and the Kendall Square T-stop is right outside the door as well -- super easy to get to if you don't have a car. The food is mediocre bar food that you would pretty much expect ... although I wish it was better because I would definitely come back if it was!"

  • "The food was great, but the service was not! After my order, the server disappeared - never came back! No refills on my beverage (ice tea). A different server saw that I had nothing to drink, asked if I would like some more tea, I said yes, he took my glass, and he never came back. I have no idea what happened to these people. I finally was able to get a different server to get my check so I could leave. The food was very good, but not the service!!!"

  • "Great spot to watch football games since they have them all on."

  • "This is obviously not a gourmet restaurant. Great place to watch a game, good beer selection, and the food is not bad (I had a nice fish sandwich though the other people in my party were not as crazy about the food)."

  • "Service was slow. Used the open table dining cheque and they didn't know if they accepted them and it took forever to get the bill settled. Maybe because they are new to Kendall Sq but that experience made it not worth using the gift cheque."

  • "Typical sports bar food, but better tasting and more variety. Delicious nachos and burgers. Terrific ap bites like chicken, quesadillas and sliders. Good for a large group or even for lunch."

  • "We were greeted and seated immediately with a smile. After the 4th or 5th waiter passed our table, we finally had one stop and take our drink orders. This took 15 to 20 minutes. Another decent amount of time went when another waiter (not the original one that brought our drinks) noticed we were twiddling our thumbs and came over to take our food order. A third waiter brought our food (which was hot and above average). Close to another hour went by when our original waiter returned. He said, "I'm sorry, we have one big group that is monopolizing my time." Too bad the restaurant was 30 - 40% occupied at the time with no big groups. We were truly disappointed. We're easy to please so dont take this as an "over critical" review. Desert was good"

  • "Spacious sports bar with solid American food and drink menu....great for a large group or party."

  • "This restaurant is convenient if you're staying in the hotel. The bar is lively but they need to work on their food"

  • "The food is soemwhat better-than-average informal bar/grill food, but any lack there is made up for by the friendly service and eagerness to please. Located within the Cambridge Marriott, it also has a good breakfast buffet with eggs to order, etc., that is usually overlooked by those not staying at the hotel; it should be more popular."

  • "It was pretty empty for a Saturday evening, so got to sit where we wanted and watch the game we requested. (Really wasn't a big sports night). Since area is kind of empty on weekends, might be more fun during a big event, or during a work night. (Unlike Champions Copley which is usually FULL of action, especially for big events.) Food and waiter were very good. Will come back when there is more "action""

  • "Casual, lively atmosphere, and good value for the neighborhood."

  • "Restaurant had only been open a couple of days and the staff were still learning the ropes. Everyone was really friendly and tried hard to please, but service was slow and our meal took 3 hours! On the upside, the food was good. I'm sure that in time it will be a great venue."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food served at this Marriott Hotel. Often hotel food is hit or miss...this was a hit!"
    Dined on 7/23/2011
  • "Of note was the fact that the menu in the restaurant bore very little resemblance to the menu on the website. There were some specific items that I was looking forward to having as choices. Once I got over that disappointment, the food and the drinks turned out to be very good. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, and it was cold where we were sitting."

  • "Upon arriving the valet was a friendly and kind man. I had forgotten my phone in the car and he had no problem helping me retrieve it. Then as I arrived to the 2nd floor we were greeted by the friendly host. The table was comfortable and the nature light was as if we were sitting outside. Our waitress was informative and right "on it". When we finished our drinks, she was right there refilling them. The setup of the brunch was comfortable and roomy. No one bumping into you or waiting. There were many selections and everyone found something they liked but, my party liked it all. Overall, a very happy Mother's Day and Mom loved it! I would go back for a regular brunch or a holiday again as well. I recommend MC2 to everyone."

  • "MC^2 is a great place for lunch with your co-workers. The food is pretty good, and the service is prompt. It has a naturally well-lit, open atmosphere. There is no wall separating the hotel's upper hall and the restaurant (which I like). It's also a good spot to bring interview candidates to lunch."

  • "Unable to find No signage and did not know in hotel Did not goThis is the reason for poor rateings"

  • "No beer selection, and we ordered Bud and it came in wine glasses. It tasted like it was in an already used glass of wine. The food was good, no ambience whatsoever."
    Dined on 12/23/2010
  • "MC2 is located right in Kendall Square at the Marriott Hotel. It's a great find if you're looking for a sit-down lunch but don't want to deal with the chaos around the area. This place is great for a business lunch as well as one with a friend."

  • "Great place for a lunch or dinner meeting. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend for those needing a quiet dining spot in Kendall Square."

  • "Nice place to meet for coffee/breakfast, as that's what I did there. Waitress was VERY good."

  • "The restaurant was inviting with great service. Lots of variety of food and solid healthy options. Plating of food was elegant and food was delicious."

  • "Very expensive and we were basically pushed out the door after eating."
    Dined on 5/9/2010
  • "The main area of the restaurant is in a beautiful sunlit area with huge windows overlooking a town square. We were seated in a windowless area behind the buffet, with no view. Food was great, but we felt let down from the photos on the website. Be sure to ask for seating near the windows."

  • "Pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant. Small selection, and a bit more expensive than other restaurants of that quality, but the food is good, the place is quiet, and they're often open on holidays when everything else is closed."

  • "Service was, as usual, excellent. The prices are much better than other local options for breakfast and the hours are great for folks who work on weekdays (they open early b/c they're in a hotel). We went again on the 21st, and there were a few minor glitches. First, there was no one checking in reservations, so I doubt we'll ever get our OpenTable points (of course, who makes reservations for breakfast besides me?). Second, the egg white frittata came with onions which were not listed as being one of the ingredients on the menu."

  • "I keep coming back here for business meetings. A much more pleasant place for a quiet conversation than the other magnet in Cambridge Center, Legals. The breakfast buffet is a great value. The lunch menu offers a wide variety of food that is surprisingly good for a business hotel restaurant, especially the salads. I would recommend the BBQ chicken salad and the crab cake sandwich, which is my favorite. Service is extremely friendly but sometimes a bit slow when it comes to bringing the check."

  • "a very reliable lunch restaurant with consistently friendly, attentive service and reliable food."

  • "My special needs aunt and I had Christmas dinner at MC2 and it was a terrific experience. The food was exquisite and the service terrific. It was one of those experiences where you take the first bite and you can't believe how good it is. Then you look at your plate and realize you still have a lot left. YAY! I highly recommend this place. It's expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of food quality and attentive service."
