Food and Service are always great but tables are very close together. With the close proximity of the tables and "energetic" noise level it is hard to have a coversation with the person across from you without talking quite loud.

Great location, decor, service and ambiance. Exceptional lighting. Mezze was not a Moroccan entree as expected but spicy Mediterranean fusion tapas: creative, original and delicious. Salad and smoked salmon were excellent. We are not wine drinkers so did not taste the extensive wine choice. The 3 latte espresso were very nicely decorated - make sure to ask for really hot coffees... The free dessert was a nice surprise. We felt free to stay as long as needed and had a great time - a very good experience.

The Chambar is ideally located for theatre and concert goers. We were seated downstairs by the window, which was much quieter than the excitement upstairs and the ambiance down there gave us a chance to have a lovely conversation without shouting. The servers were attentive and aware that we had a show to make. There were 4 in our party; three of us had the lamb shanks which were out of this world; one person had the moules et frites and said they were the best he had ever had! Beer and wine were outstanding. The only disappointing thing was the regular coffee (Americano?) - too strong; had an instant coffee taste. But we will be back for sure maybe try brunch!!!

The new Chambar is fabulous. Bigger, great ambiance, same great beer list and the food as good as ever! Top this off with excellent server staff, and you have a winner. The Congolese Moules Frites were delicious and could easily be shared. The Sablefish was perfectly cooked, and the duck was a taste sensation. Highly recommended!

I went to Chambar with a group of friends to catch up and while both the food and service were top-tier the experience was seriously marred by the noise level. We stained to hear each other and I left fatigued and with a hoarse voice. For that reason, I won't go back . What a shame as this restaurant is wonderful on every other level.

This lively, trendy establishment was very busy for a Wednesday night and at 8:30pm still had people waiting for tables. We were glad we had made a reservation well in advance as we were celebrating a special occaision. The restaurant is quite a bit larger than it appears to be from the store front. We had a booth and were glad of it, as we found the noise level a little much. Food presentation and service were well orchestrated. The mussels (one of their trademark dishes) are done 3 ways and are excellent.

Great food. Charming loft atmosphere, feels like dinning in N.Y. Love the new dessert menu, esp. "Mama Rizk". This is my second time having this dessert since the renovation, I'm not a big friend of sweets and desserts but this dish keeps me coming back to Chambar. The sophiscated texture of custard, crispy pastry, mint sorbet & orange added with touch of pistachio. It's refreshing and you can feel all those mixture are partying in your mouth! Top notch with a very reasonable price of just $10.

I go out to dine primarily for the food. I will say that the restaurant is beautifully designed with good flow. For me, however, the dinner was a real disappointment. I am a foodie not a hot spot person. I was disappointed in the dinner. Portions too small and not hot enough. I had the rabbit cannelloni which was okay and we had french fries which were sort of mushy and not right out of the pan. I would have returned them but I was deep in conversation with my companion. Our server was good. I would not come back which is sad because it is a lovely spot, but for me, food first.

I brought a group of 4 business partners here for dinner for meeting as a personal catch-up and business meeting. The atmosphere was perfect for this and my group were all beer lovers so the 50+ selection of belgium beers was a hit. And each beer came in its own branded glass which was quite unexpected and a special touch. Staff was perfectly attentive and patient given that we were eating, chatting, discussing business, etc. The menu is a bit small but there is something for everyone (from the foodie to the simple diner). Highly recommend!

Been there several times with consistent results. Quality food rather than quantity. Split the muscles as an appetizer. Other mains were good but small. Place was loud so it is hard to hear conversations, which can be an annoyance or an advantage. Service is always good. Make reservations in advance as it can be booked days or a week in advance. They will limit your stay to your allotted two hours if you have an early booking. Lots of great places to eat in Vancouver, this is one of them and it meets expectations. Lots of parking lots within a block. Traffic around the area can be gridlocked during certain times or events. Great place for a date or special event.

We brought excellent wines from home. Corkage fee $25 / bottle worthied. The sommelier had a good chat with me and brought a serie of glasses which allowed us to taste the 3 pinots side by side. I would do this again without hesitation. I had emailed the labels before to the sommelier to ensure they were fine with me bringing these wines (they had said on the phone that they would not allow wines on the wine list yet that the wine list may not be completely up to date so emailing was suggested). The food was also well described and served.

Mussels were the big hit but all was great. Will be back!

The room is very inviting with three eating areas; we ate in the dining room which was quieter than the bar area. Great drinks menu and part of the draw was the Belgian beer selection and it exceeded expectations. It was noisy but less than the old location. Nice vibe. I was expecting a larger selection on the menu but it had what I wanted and the moules were cooked perfectly. The stuffed bread was delightful. The service was excellent - non-intrusive, helpful and our waiter went out of his way to ensure that my companions second glass of wine was exactly what she wanted. I am going back for lunch.

Took almost 50 minutes before our food arrived at our table for brunch. I specifically inquired if they carried Coca Cola or Pepsi products and was told they carried Coca Cola. Sent my drink back as it wasn't Coke until finally I was advised by another staff member that they did indeed carry generic cola.

Relatively limited entrée selection, but cooked to near perfection and very well served. Although an attractive enough room, the main floor dining area lacks ambience and intimacy due to a fairly raucous crowd and very high noise levels, consequent of which, conversation more closely approximates a shouting match.

I was really taken with the restaurant's location prior to the VIFF film we were going to see. The interesting menu was an added draw but the complementary beer list sealed the deal. The online reservation was realized without incident; we got seated near immediately. Beer and wine choices were made quickly despite an extensive selection to choose from. The menu choices were intriguing. We went with the braised lamb and mussels in white wine. Both were fantastic!! Also service was superb throughout. Would we go back? Undoubtedly!

I met a friend for lunch at Chambar on Tuesday. Both of us loved the restaurant and both our meals were praise worthy. I had the duck confit salad, all the parts worked beautifully together. She had the miso tuna and was very happy with her meal. Both meals needed to be gluten free (we both have Celiac Disease) and the waitress went to great lengths to ensure that our meals were safe. All the waitstaff were very attentive, the ambiance was outstanding. I will definitely be back.
