ChambarFantastic food; fantasticFantastic food; fantastic beers. At 8 pm on a Friday it was too loud for us too old people to talk, but we will be going back for more.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant in VancouveBrilliant food that ensures Chambar as one of the top restaurants in the city. We love that they have such a great selection of Belgian beers, unique among fine restaurants in Vancouver.12/3/2013 12:00:00 AMChambar did a great serviceChambar did a great service on an "event night - hockey game" in turning out quality food in short order and getting us out to the game on time. I'd like to go again on a non-event night to truly enjoy the restaurant.8/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite, minus the hockey crowdI received such warm and personal service that made my birthday dinner there extra-special - the food alone was an exquisite experience. Some of the flavors made time stop, I swear. The waiters and sommalier were so genuine and really went out of their way to make me feel like I had the place all to myself --- when in fact, the place was overstuffed with loud boisterous hockey fans who went there post-game...and who in no way shape or form were repectful of the other diners with their drunken screeching and hollering. They didn't treat the establishment any different than they would for a dive-bar or sports-pub, which to me is shameful. It's a testimony to how incredible the service and food is at Chambar, it literally made me forget it all8/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Chambar twoI have been to Chambar two times now and have found both the food and service to be very good both times. I will definitely be back and would recommend this restaurant to friends and family members.7/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA trip to Belgium in VancouverExcellent selection of Belium Beer, Server very knowledgeable about matching beer to the food,
Food very tasty , mixture of Belium style dishes, and north african dishes.
For some one who has been to. Bruge, Belgium, Food is authentic.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceStaff was great from reservation to dessert. David, our server, truly facilitated a fun dining experience. We have waited a year to line up the stars with friends to dine here. No hockey, football or concert, so we got in. Small but varied menu reminiscent of our dining experiences in Belgium.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary dinnerMy wife and had a very romantic dinner
David our waiter was very patient with my wife
As she was undecided . She had the halibut
I had the lamb both delicious .6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways amazing...My husband/family/friends and I dine at Chambar every opportunity we get, and consistently enjoy beautifully presented, elegant and full-flavored dishes. Service is fabulous...friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. The somewhat casual decor belies the sophistication of the chef's genius...this is definitely one of Vancouver's finest. On a purely practical note: valet parking is offered, and the location is within close/walking proximity to Queen Elizabeth Theatre ( perfect pre-concert dining ) and both major sport/concert arenas. Enjoy!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMChambar is the best! The best restaurant I have been to in Vancouver so far. Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend it to anyone6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMJust a great meal!As good as always / excellent atmosphere / great service. Will be back.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service - greatExcellent service - great wine and beer list. The beer menu is as large as the wine list. Food was superb.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place. I love the environmentGreat place. I love the environment. Disappointed this time as they ran out of the lamb:(. I was taking some visiting friends there specifically for that dish. However the waitstaff was very good at recommending other options and offering honest opinions for the rest of our meal.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMbirthday dinneranother great dinner at Chambar
Great food , wine and beer!
Great ambience, love the lamb done any way at all.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe New ClassicPerfectly prepared dishes, great wine and beer list, sophisticated cocktails, attentive but unobtrusive service, and consistently good from visit to visit. Chambar has become a new classic in Vancouver. We forgot how good everything could be and will be returning soon.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLoud late-night delicious dinnerWe walked over for our 9:30 reservation and we were late. No problem. We got the delicious rabbit cannelloni and the lamb tagine. So much delicious food. Drinks were too sweet and citrussy for our taste. Great spot to eat before going out5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThird time visitor...Food and service are both unbeatable; unpretentious yet high-class... definitely worth a 4.5 star in our books... we will go back for our fourth visit next time in town in August 2013
Thank you Chambar management!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMagic overallHaving been gifted a prepaid card, I made a reservation prior to my departure from NZ. On arrival at Chambar I was warmly welcomed and escorted to my table. The service was friendly, welcoming and efficient, with menu advice available if required. The meal itself was superb, the main course served piping hot as it should be, and everything beautifully presented. I had no hesitation in asking my waitress to pass my compliments to the chef. A stranger in Vancouver, and on my own, I was helped to feel totally relaxed. Overall a wonderful evening.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentThe service was terrific and so was the food. We shared the tuna tartar -- it was fresh and delicious. We both had mussels -- different preparations. The mussels were perfectly cooked in broth that was flavorful, but not too rich. A lovely meal.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the food!Need to book in advance. Great food and service. Will be back again soon5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food Good WineEverything was good, the food the wine and the service.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMChambar is amazingWe had a party of five and everyone ordered something different--and each dish was brilliant. Not fussy, not TOO thought out, just perfect. And perfect portions as well. The service was very friendly and efficient. My only SLIGHT complaint (whine?) is that it was a bit noisy. But it certainly doesn't come close to disturbing the whole experience. If you're a tourist and have only one restaurant to try in Vancouver, I would recommend this one.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMmanager, staff went beyond helpfulOn making our (OpenTable) reservation I noted that it was our 1st. wedding anniversary."If possible a quite table would help make our night special". The main seating area was 90% full and our table was not what we had hoped for. Upon our request the waiter asked the manager if it would be okay to seat us in the closed area. In an instant the manager had put two tables together (so we could sit side by side), lit a candle and ushered us into the empty closed area where we were treated to the most enjoyable dinner, evening we have ever had!
Thank you again for making our special night that much more memorable.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to expectationsThis was our second trip to Chambar. It was busy and noisy but everything was excellent. Our server, believe we had the first time too, gave us just the right amount of attention. He suggested items that we did end up trying and were not disappointed. We ended up sharing five appetizers amongst the two of us as well as a side of pomme frites. All were good and the fois gras was exceptional.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentService in the front room exceeded expectations as faster than normsl and more attentive as it was early. Goid coktails and usul outstanding mussels made the party. Well done.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but rather noisyFood was very tasty and well presented. Service was also attentive but not overly so. The restaurant is rather dimly lit (which is preferred by some) and quite loud. Hard to have a decent conversation as the background noise can be excessive. Despite this, the restaurant is definitely worth repeat visits.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a warm and welcomingWe enjoyed a warm and welcoming evening. The Cocktails are fabulous, the Tuna Ceviche is a must order. Our server was welcoming and ensured we had a lovely evening.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBelgium comes to VancouverUnbelievable. Where do I start? Phenomenal food, prepared perfectly, served flawlessly, at prices other restaurants charge for everyday meals. Wide-ranging beer menu at reasonable markups; some rare items to be found. There are actually not that many items on the menu--perhaps a dozen small plates, four sides, three styles of mussels and seven large plates.
This meal went off without a hitch. Multiple servers; no one ever auctioned off food. All six beers we ordered were served in the proper glassware, at the proper temperature, and poured correctly. Servers were knowledgeable about food and drink.
Food was outstanding. Creative. Belgian meets Northwest without feeling like trendy fusion. I'd go again and again. A must for any Belgoph5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Date NightI believe they rotate their dishes frequently, but if you have the chance, get the duck. Best duck of my life. I am going back when I am in Vancouver again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food, great serviceReally enjoyed our dinner out here - a ton of beers to try, service was excellent and the food was excellent. Would definitely come again, and can see why this is a local favorite.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceTook my wife there for dinner. Very nice place with a great menu and wine selection.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! The service was great and the food was delicious. The dishes were unique and presented in an interesting way. Yum!3/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHype?Dont know what the hype is, but this place is average. Service was good however.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
