A word from Chamas do Brazil
Chamas do Brazil, which means “Flames of Brazil,” is an authentic Brazilian Steakhouse. Our special meat roasting method is based on the old gaucho tradition from several centuries ago, known as churrasco. Churrasco was originated in Southern Brazil, where Gauchos (Brazilian Cowboys) pierced different types of meat and grilled them over open flamed pits. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef, lamb, pork, and chicken to each diner individually right at their table.

A meal typically begins with a trip to our amazing salad bar, which consist of over 50 different items of fresh vegetables, homemade dressings, imported cheeses, cured meat, and etc., along with several hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course will start when you flip your coaster-sized chip from the red side to the green side, signaling the Gaucho Chefs that you’re ready to be served. To stop the service of meat, flip the chip to the red side.

WAY overpriced for the quality of meat. No presence of marinade of any sort on the meat. Grilled meat did not taste grilled. When I eat grilled meats, I expect some char/sear to the meats from exposure to flame. May as well have been roasted.

We weren't that impressed. Typical Brazilian steakhouse but in such a low class area not worth it. There was a guy in paint stained jeans at the other table and three babies in the restaurant who kept acting up. Our waitress was nice but not very good with the conversation and seemed very uncomfortable, as did the wait staff serving us. The place has a very nice design and layout but with no dress code? It throws it all off honestly. Just take the drive to Texas de Brazil since the places cost the same but you get better service there. We won't ever return to this place unless they lower the price or start making some changes.

This is a good place for those of us on a limited budget to celebrate a special occasion. We were impressed with the service and the food. The staff, from hostess to manager, gave us a personal experience that we could remember. The food was well prepared and the servers cut each serving to order. The salad bar is an outstanding feature and I would have liked to sample more than I did, but I was saving room for the different meats that were served. We really liked the Filet Mignon and Garlic Sirloin. We live on a limited budget and cannot afford to dine like this often but this is an experience that is well worth the cost for special occasions. We will return. Not often, but we will return.

My husband and I had a date night after several months of not getting to go out on the weekend and this was the perfect place. Great location, great service and lots of meats to choose from. I will say that I was a little dissapointed in the salad bar area. I was expecting more side dishes but it was 95% cold items. There was a lot to choose from if you like different types of salad and cold meats and cheeses. Everything that we had was really good and fresh. That being said, I now know what to expect and I will most definitely be going back. There is no way you could leave this place unsatisfied! A little more expensive than I want tobpay but it was a special occasion and was great for a date night.

The restaurant is very attractive and spacious. Very easy to get to and from the salad bar. Easy location to get to with free parking. The staff was friendly and courteous. Although one of our party felt the food was somewhat bland, the others agreed that they avoided the over-salting of its meats that can be a problem at other Brazilian steak houses. The meats were tender and flavorful. The salad bar had a great variety of selections. The only thing that disappointed me was the vegetable cream soup. It was flavorless and had an unpleasant pasty consistency.

If you live in Arlington or near by, if you love excellent steaks and above the best in service,Chamas is the place. The manager is 1 of the most professional individual I have ever met. Being from Europe, my taste buds are always in alert for great food..So the question is, is it better than TDB in F/W ?Well..Yes because it is very close, because you don't have to pay for parking, because you can make a res.and actually get seated when you get there and not wait at the bar, because the salad bar has more choices and the food is fresh. If you live in F/W , TDB would probably make more sense, however you would be missing out on the best In Arlington. But all that comes with a price and remember that old saying....you pay for what you get.

From the initial call to confirm our reservation and a suggestion to "come hungry" to the final bite of dessert everything was top notch. The dress code is business casual and the environment matches. The food quality and service was top notch. Very friendly people all around and knowledgable about their menu. I definitely recomend it to anyone interested in going. It is, of course, on the costly side, so limit it to special occasions. That said it will definitely be a special occasion location for us again.

You may order the salad bar only and that's what I would recommend IF you are going. The few items I chose from it were very good. I tried six of the meats and none of them are worth the money. They bring mashed potatoes and fried banana, which are both very good. The walnut pudding dessert I had was excellent.

My wife and I have been to the restaurant twice now and both times have been wonderful. The enthusiasm of the staff is notable and the way the Gauchos buzz around with the skewers of meat is entertaining. The management know their wines and the waiters and waitresses knowledge of the offerings is impressive. The building outside and inside is top notch also. It is a fantastic dining experience for two or a group of friends.

The waiters were very nice. The restaurant was beautiful. The salad bar was ok. Definitely could have more selections. Meat selections were plenty, but the choices offered were unseasoned, and dry. I frequent another similar establishment often, so I compared it to that restuarant. NO COMPARISON! Sticking to my favorite. Overpriced, for poor tasting cuisine. Left very dissatisfied, although my server was very nice. I was very unimpressed.

New restaurant with a few bugs to resolve. Our party was two couples and the waiter presented one bill without asking if we wanted separate checks. Also, I am not a red meat person, I had to ask waiter twice to bring more chicken. It was finally brought over with some delay, but with apologies. Great location, good atmosphere, good for very special occasions due to costly menu.

Look for coupons before you go to moderate the price. We had coupons for $10 per person but even then it was somewhat expensive. However, considering the variety on the salad bar and the non-stop meat servings it is worth the price.

The server asked my wife if she wanted a drink she declined, instead of asking me he walked away assuming neither would drink. The first selection of meat shows up almost instantly. We started to converse over dinner just to be interrupted very quickly with the next selection of meat, and the server hit my wife's chair as he walked past it. Then we'd start to talk again and server hits her chair again. Tables are too packed when the table next to us also hits her chair (at least they apologized.) Now the manager came to our table and cleaned our plates twice. My filet minion was brown and dry, not at all medium. And the flavor was very bland, the garlic was half fat so be careful if you're trying to converse and not paying attention.
