  • "Nice price fixe easter brunch menu but there were certain items on the menu that were at an extra cost. Plus a high included gratuity. Overall the experience was good. Will go back again for a special occasion."

  • "I went to Chakra for Easter Brunch/Pre-fix menu. Although the ambiance of the Chakra is breathtaking with its brickfaced walls surrounded in candlelight, the food was adequate if best. The portions were over priced and extremely small. The service was fair. If I do return, it will be only for to have a drink in the lounge. I will not be back for dinner. "

  • "We recently went to dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday with another couple. The atmosphere is so beautiful. Our wait staff was very knowledgeable and patient as we took a while to decide what to order. We have been to Chakra probably a dozen times over the last 4 or 5 years and it is always a great experience."

  • "The staff was so accommodating and happy. Managers were clearly present without being obtrusive. On two nights in a row they accommodated us at our requested table ( though it was early.) Love this place, the servers, the food and the ambience. Plus they have fabulous and unique desserts! "

  • "I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my son and his girlfriend, and Chakra was at a halfway point so we met there. Once inside, the decor was beautiful; candles, exposed brick and an abundance of dark wood, balanced by gauze drapes and satin pillows in the seating areas. Food was excellent and happily there was a gluten free menu as well. I recommend the crab cakes and the skirt steak. Excellent drink menu. I will be going back."

  • "This restaurant is always consistent in serving good quality food. The portions are perfect and the food has great flavor without being too heavy. Every time I have ordered one of the specials I have never been disappointed. This past time my boyfriend ordered the 40 hour cooked short ribs and it was fantastic. The wine list is big and has a lot to offer. We usually order a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and have enjoyed the bottles we've tried with Fisticuffs being our favorite. The last time we went we ordered the peanut daquoise for dessert because it was recommended to us the time before by our waitress and it was delicious. We always leave satisfied with the service and highly enjoy our experience there."

  • "Photos on the web site make it look a bit tacky, but it's actually very elegant. Food was very slow to arrive, but fantastic! Every dish was unique and succulent. Not cheap, so it will be only on special occasions for us, but definitely going back."

  • "For a restaurant about to celebrate its 10th year in business you would think service would be better at the very least decent. However, it was anything but that. The waiter seemed lost. We asked questions and he walked away. Seemed greener than a green tomato. The food tasted very good, but the menu seemed a bit on the boring side. It was my first time back in 8 years and not much had changed with the exception of a lot less people... I hope the chef can work some magic in the kitchen and try and reinvent the me u and staff as well..."

  • "Quite expensive, but definitely worth it. Some of the waiters and waitresses were a bit rude or cold at some points. Definitely not very kid friendly. Beautiful atmosphere on the inside. Food was excellent and the desserts were amazing. You must try the macaroon tree and peanut daquoise...incredible."

  • "They really need to try and keep their reservations in check. I was with a party of five people and we waiting an hour and a half to sit!!!!! Absurd."

  • "Went there with 2 other couple and we had a great time. Food was great. My only complaint is we were sharing appetizers and staff knew it and did not really recommend order more. Each appetizer was only good for 1 person..."

  • "We had a large party. Our server got one entree wrong and some of the sides. My husband had to wait 15-20mins for his entree and he wasn't offered anything while he waited nor did they bring out new hot sides. He was expected to eat the sides that were there sitting cold. A manager never came over to make sure we were satisfied or to apologize. To top it off the air conditioner was blowing making it very uncomfortable to the point we had to get our winter coats on. We were told the air conditioner wasn't on. These were the disappointing points even with that we will go back. This was our second visit and our first visit was much better."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for Valentines Day this year and I was very satisfied with the whole experience. Making the reservation was painless and they even called me a couple of days before to confirm it with me. Our waiters were very friendly and one of them gave us complimentary Chai tea lattes! The ambiance was very sophisticated without being pretentious and it was quiet enough that I could easily hold a conversation. Chalkra is a wonderful restaurant and I will definitely go back!"

  • "This is a beautiful restaurant . I have dined here four times now and the first three visits were exceptional. The last visit my meal, diver sea scallops was fine, but not special. I hope that the quality of the food is not going downhill. But all things considered I will give it another chance"

  • "Loved it again! I went with a friend who is not as into food as me. Waitress was very helpful in helping her select a glass of wine. The kitchen was very accomadating in the few requests we had... no anchovies in our Caesar salad, and replacing vanilla ice cream with coffee on one of the desserts. Presentation of the butternut squash soup was fun, the waitress poured the servings from a small pitcher. My lamb loin entree was cooked to perfection. It had a light smokiness that really made it pop. Meat was perfect, nothing to trim off. My friend's dry aged steak was cooked just the way she likes it (well done), though I think well done meat is a crime, she was happy. That's what matters! We were comfortable, not rushed. Excited to go back!"

  • "Amazing place..from the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left - we were in awe. The ambiance of the place, the courtesy and amazing service of the staff..the delicious food. Everything was impeccable! I was trying my best to find something wrong - but nothing! it was one perfect amazing experience! My only regret being - I did not do enough research and went on a valentine special night so they had fixed menu - would love to go back on a regular weekend and try out other stuff on the menu. PS - The wine collection is to die for! :) My wife and I both loved it. We drove down from Philly to try it out and I would say it was every mile worth it! Kudos Chakra team..keep it up!"

  • "Chakra never fails to provide a consistently outstanding meal experience. Excellent ambiance and high quality food, like locally sourced chicken from Goffle Brook farms, combine to provide an excellent special occasion meal. Service is high quality and the staff is receptive. On this particular visit, they were out of the crispy trout and strip steak (after Valentine's day and snowstorms), but the meals we got were outstanding. The selection of cocktails and drinks are likewise prepared with similar precision, and are a tasty addition to any meal."

  • "unique cinnamon flavor on the sea bass, yummy shrimp roll appetizer., love the ambiance and the sheer draped banquettes. Thought it might be nice to separate off areas within the main dining so you don't feel you're eating within a crowd. The filet and lobster were outstanding. could use a few more good Napa Cabs on the wine list. We had the Valentines menu and the only weak part was the dessert--should have been dark chocolate and the dipping items more delectable--maybe shortbread cookies and unique fruit rather than boxed type cookies and strawberries."

  • "My boyfriend and I dined here to celebrate valentine's day on Sunday. The private banquets were perfect for the occassion. The food was delicious, the service attentive and knowledgable and the ambiance was perfect. The only negative part of our experience was surprisingly the manager. The one person that should be most gracious and accommodating to his guests to set a good example for his staff was unfortunately the least. It may possibly be time to find someone more enthusiastic about his job."

  • "Great four-course pre-fixe meal for Valentine's Day. ($89 per person.) Options were more than sufficient for a holiday menu and food was delicious. I would recommend Chakra for a romantics dinner for two."

  • "I have no issues with spending money on quality dining. Chakra, while they have exceptional food and drinks (including a hefty wine list), were in my opinion incredibly overpriced and taking full advantage of valentines day. Unlike most other places, you were forced into their multiple choice, pre-fixe menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine, and our service was perfect, I don't think they can justify $350 for two people eating off their pre-fixe menu and one bottle of wine. That being said, I would definitely return when I can pick my own meals, because everything we ate on Friday night was fantastic!"

  • "The restaurant was set up with lots of extra tables since it was Valentine's day, but thankfully there was still enough room between them for the most part that you were not in on the table conversation immediately next to you. The server and entire wait staff were cheerful and seemed happy to be of service. The dining area was a comfortable temperature, but the ladies room was a bit chilly. All and all very nice restaurant."

  • "We would have liked to see a friendly smile on the host's face. It seemed that he really did not want to be there that night.I had a hard time reading the menu, because of the dim light. Everything else was perfect."

  • "I was looking for a romantic setting and Chakra was exactly that. Tha ambiance was perfect, low lighting and candles everywhere. The service was superb.. Trish! I had a Chilean Sea Bass that was to die for. The only issue I had was finding the place using GPS. Must put in 16 Arcadian Way, Paramus!"

  • "Ridiculously overpriced with mediocre service at best. I would advise that if you send something back you get the manager to your table to make sure it stays off your bill. I sent back a second martini when my steak arrived, med well, (asked for med rare) and asked for house merlot. Waiter said it would be ok only to find it in my bill when i asked about it he replied the manager had said no and t include it in the bill, i didn’t' want a second martini to ruin my night with my wife and so i paid the bill without incident but can't help but wonder why couldn’t the manager or waiter himself inform me of such? I would have then kept my second martini until i was done eating their dry overcooked TC steak. BTW stay away from the tuna tartare"

  • "Everything was delicious except the tuna tartar which had absolutly no flavor. Don't think it was worth 120 dollars but still had a good experience."

  • "This restaurant has great ambiance, is romantic, exotic and sophisticated, ask for the booth, but any seat is good. The food was very good, the sushi was cooked, my wife found that odd, but it was just her dish, and they do have it raw. She had a guava laced margarita, which was heaven. The only issue was the waitress, she had a helper, which was good, but the service was too relaxed, we had to call her several times, and she wasn’t engaging. It was still good, but not what it should have been for this kind of restaurant. We had an appetizer, 3 drinks, 2 main courses and desert and the cost was $175. We thought it was an excellent value, we will return, but the service should have been better, thanks and enjoy!"

  • "The only thing we liked was the crap cake.the restrooms felt like a ice box.not good when its winter.I told the waitress n its a on going problem n we had to park far to find a spot,no vallet! For a high end restaurant, its a joke!! Never come here again.."

  • "I arrived early and selected the cozy lounge area to enjoy a glass and await my date. It had exposed brick and low light, David at the bar Made sure I was comfortable . At dinner we were seated in a secluded and romantic Corner sectional, I believe it was ostrich skin upholstered. I had 2 most excellent all crab meat cakes, a beet salad with a scoop Of sorbet, light and refreshing. She had lamb on a potato pancake. Dessert was a key lime semifredo with French press coffee. It's my second time and reaffirmed my first impression. Service, atmosphere and food is exceptional ."

  • "The restaurant was dimly lit a very romantic feel the food was great and dessert even better. The outside of the restaurant needs a upgrade to match the inside. Overall I enjoyed the experience. Not a place for small children I did see a few. Definitely for the grown and sexy with a mature palette"
