Chakra - Beverly HillsMy wife and I had rememberedMy wife and I had remembered this place mostly for its ambience and clever presentation of cocktails for example, but on our recent visit, we were reminded of how good the FOOD was. Modest portions, creatively and tastefully presented, and FRESH and SIMPLY prepared. We were there with my parents who are not just from India, but are also the toughest food critics I know. And THEY were wildly impressed. The okra dish (get it "south india" style) was incredible. The first time that a dish at a restaurant has woken me up like this one did. These guys did something few Indian restaurants are known for--letting the inherent flavor of the actual meat or veggie be the star.
