Diner Reviews
  • "Fabulous for a really nice lunch and conversation. Moderately priced, delicious food. A real gem!"

  • "Food was wonderful, but the service was so bad it took our party of 3 a little more than 3 hours to finish dinner... and we didn't even get dessert. We didn't mind, as we were enjoying each others company, but if you only have an hour for dinner, skip this place. They're just way too slow."

  • "Went to celebrate my wife's birthday- excellent dinner with an interesting selection of "wine flights" to accompany. Excellent and personable service, and a delicious dinner!"

  • "This restaurant is beyond amazing. The food and ambiance were perfect, the entertainment was fantastic, and the service was wonderful. We can't wait to bring family and friends to dine at Chablis and will recommend it to everyone we know. My boyfriend and I are foodies, and it was great to finally have experienced PERFECTION in every way at a restaurant. Thank you!"

  • "The chef had a special Valentine's day menu, so it was a bit smaller than the usual. Still the food was very good and the server enthusiastic and was well versed on the menu options. Good food, good drinks, good vibe. We plan to go again."

  • "Underwhelming and overpriced. Very disappointed. We had been here for my office's Holiday Party and were impressed. However, Valentine's Day dinner was a whole different story. Food was uninspired, dessert not so good. We will not be back."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed our dinner so much we will return soon with our dinner club! The live music is an added bonus."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The food was wonderful. They even had a musician at our early dinner time. It was valentines day and holidays aren't always the best times to experience restaurants. This was the exception to that rule."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Had a very pleasant lunch. Service was good, as well as the food. Very nice and quiet, making conversation a pleasure. Would come back."

  • "We go here probably once a month and are never disappointed. Definitely worth visiting!"

  • "First time there. Will go back. Good food, good wine, nice fireplace."

  • "It's particularly nice to introduce colleagues to this restaurant because it is excellent for a business lunch. Food is exemplary and the service is non-intrusive."

  • "Good food for affordable price but service is very slow. Had to wait 20 minutes to have a piece of cake......"

  • "Lovely, good-size restaurant with a side patio that is a good place on a warm day. My salmon was perfectly cooked and nicely presented on a bed of cous-cous. I was seeing an old friend and they did not rush us out even though we were the last party out by far. The prices are reasonable. I will be back."

  • "The dinela entrees were very good, so were the appetizers but the deserts were not very inspired."
    Dined on 1/31/2014
  • "While it took a while to place an order, it was only because the place was hopping. There was a wonderful combo singing songs from porter to Elton, while regulars danced in what little open space remained. The maître'd and waiter were charming and helpful and the food was delicious. I was taken with a scallop appetizer on a bed of lemony hummus and greens, while my table mates enjoyed their Chilean sea bass. The sashimi plate was lovely but needed a kick and the lamb sirloin was perfectly roasted if slightly under- seasoned. We will definitely return."

  • "The ambiance was good in that it was not noisy, and there was someone playing an instrument in the background, but very softly. The food was very good, especially for a neighborhood spot."

  • "Had a party of six. the service was a little spotty, but generally attentive. the food was outstanding. Salads, appetizers, mains and desert were all top rate. Have been here before, and will return. this is one of three local restaurants that we have been patronizing over the last year or so. Lucky for Tarzana and us"

  • "Great food, great service. I think beyond that, the ambiance was the best touch to this restaurant. Can't wait to go back"
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "We have been coming here for several years and the food and service and prices have always been good, but tonight (our anniversary), there was a notable difference. The service for us was very slow - the waitress didn't check on us and the food was not up to par. Maybe it was the holiday week. It is generally a nice cozy, quiet place for dinner. There was a guitar player quietly playing background music, so that was nice while we waited. We will certainly come back and hope this was just an off night."

  • "The small plates are always good and a fun way to share dinner with friends. A large group seated in the back room next to our table was so noisy that conversation at our table was impossible."
    Dined on 12/28/2013
  • "A nice cozy comfort food type of place. The service was excellent. Also a good place to hold a conversation. The restaurant serves many purposes, but one is a place where one can talk to another without worrying about the noise factor. Also if memory serves me correctly there was no music in the background which is nice."

  • "Nice comfortable neighborhood place with quality food very reasonably priced wine list! I look forward to returning soon."
    Dined on 12/24/2013
  • "This is such a great neighborhood gem! I love the wine list, and the recommendations have always been spot on. The appetizers are yummy (especially the crab cakes and the flat bread). The white fish is especially fantastic as a main dish. The only drawback is that the service is not prompt. Seating is not swift, and getting the attention of the staff can be challenging. Entirely worth it, though! I will keep coming back!"

  • "Although one of our four diners was unavoidably delayed for dinner, the wait staff could not have been more understanding and professional. The wine selection was excellent. One couple in our party were vegetarian, and the restaurant had two superb entrees for us. The food, both small and large plates, was excellent. Lovely dining experience."

  • "This is a great place that you can enjoy dining. Noise lever is quite good, you can have a quiet conversation. because the atmosphere is relaxed many of the patrons do intermingle as was done with me."
    Dined on 11/29/2013
  • "The food is amazing, the restaurant lovely, but we have found the service to be almost painfully slow at times. You will have a great experience, just don't be in a hurry! It's quirky, but still a favorite!"
    Dined on 11/16/2013
  • "The appetizer was very good....Brie and duck salad. My Date had a fish dish and was pleased. I had Veal that was chewy and the sauce was a zero---- not to be expected at a French restaurant. Dessert was very good. Will probably give it another try not on a weekend as I live close by."
    Dined on 10/25/2013
  • "Very good food, a very pleasant experience. Will definately dine here again"
    Dined on 10/26/2013
  • "Celebrated my wife's birthday there with the family. The food and service was great and we absolutely plan to go back. We also enjoyed the live music. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was that it was a little loud ,and at times hard for the older people to hear the conversations. I think it might have been due to our table being in the center of the restaurant, and maybe one of the perimeter tables would have been quieter."

  • "It's a quaint neighborhood restaurant with a good variety of California cuisine. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. The staff does not rush you to get out and they let you have your conversation and don't interrupt (like a lot of waiters do). A nice surprise to this restaurant is they have live music! There is a gentleman who signs while you're eating which was a nice bonus! I have since gone back on a night the gentleman was not performing and although the food was still just as good, I missed not having the full experience of "dinner with a show". I would suggesting calling ahead to confirm the singer will be performing on the evening you will be visiting the restaurant. It's well worth it."
