We have been to Cesco several times, and each time enjoy it more than the last. The menu is varied and the food is exceptional. All who work there are pleasant, helpful, knowledgable and friendly. We were there with friends for a simple dinner two nights ago, and can't wait til the next time. We highly recommend Cesco.

This is my second dining experience at Cesco. The food is really great; without fail everything was unique and delicious. Unfortunately, our service did not live up to the food experience. It took a very long time to get our main dishes and, although one of the plates was hot, the ravioli was luke warm. It appeared the waiter had forgotten to bring out the food. I would definitely go back and hope for a different waiter. Parking is easy but it was too loud inside for my comfort level.

We had dinner at primetime on Saturday night. They seemed to be drowning a bit. The tableclothes needed changing. We had to ask for silverware. My seafood spaghetti was fine, but my wife's chicken ravioli was pretty bad.

We went to this neighborhood restaurant to try out some of their dishes. We had beet/goat cheese salad as an appetizer, osso bucco, seafood pasta as entrees and desserts. They were all very tasty and carefully prepared. We will return to try out some other dishes.

Wednesday is 1/2 price wine and Cesco's has a great wine list. I love the Super Tuscans. The service is always great, especially Carlos and Raphael. They have been there since the old location. They know the wines and food, make great recommendations too. Haddock and Trumpet mushrooms were very good. Thick cut of haddock and the trumpet mushrooms were sliced and looked very nice on the plate. Started with splitting Risotto with scallops and red pepper which was excellent. Scallop was perfectly seared and the red pepper added just the right color. As always, I can't resist the focaccia with sliced tomato they serve instead of bread - perfect amount of coarse salt, yum!

Cesco's is a ok high end restaurant in the Bethesda area, the food was good, but the waiter seem to be bit snippy. I was meeting a friend and we talked and had a drink before ordering so we made him come back about 3 times before we ordered, but I don't think that is extreme, besides the place was empty at 7:30 on a Saturday night. I probably won't go back, due to the service.

Cesco Osteria is located where the McCormick &Schmick used to be on Woodmont ave., a few steps from the Bethesda Metro station. The outdoor dining area is large and pleasant and it includes a trendy Beer Garden area. The food is very good with a typical Italian selection. I had the fish stew and it had all the usual ingredients - clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari and several kinds of fish. The accompanying toast could have been better. My companions had two different pastas, both of which were also very good. This is Francesco Ricchi's most recent restaurant. Yes, the Ricchi for whom i Ricchi on 19th St. is named. Francesco is from Tuscany and produces authentic Italian cuisine.

I really was torn about this place before I got there. Some reviews were decent and some terrible. I have to say for an Italian place, there are better places in Bethesda. It's pricey and the food is just average. The lobster bisque was very good, nice and creamy with a great lobster flavor. The calamari was terrible! It appeared to be a frozen not fresh calamari and it was chewy. Then we had the butternut squash ravioli with a marscapone sauce. It wasn't too bad, the sauce was a little heavy but overall decent. Then there was a pappardelle with duck ragu, the duck ragu wasn't too bad but pappardelle was over cooked and I'm not sure if it was fresh. It was also very thin. Not worth going for the price.

We had not been to the new Cesco location yet. We found the same VG food and attentive service that we always liked before. I had the tuna special dinner and mixed green salad ... all very good. I last went to CESCO in their old location on Cordell. This was the first time in their "new digs" and what a difference! The hip and airy environment made everything taste better too! I compared the menu at CESCO with the other new Italian entries to the Bethesda restaurant scene before booking and found the selection varied, including items for those who do not eat pork or shellfish. Every item we had was tasty in its own way. It was clear that time was spent making each item just right. I can't wait to go back!

We went Sat. night for a nice dinner. First, my wife and I had different special menus which caused some confusion. When we got that straightened out, we ordered. I had soup to start which came out about 30 seconds after we ordered. As soon as I put my soup spoon down the main course was delivered. We could have had our nice Sat. dinner in about 20minutes. they need to learn a little about spacing the meal so the dinner could be enjoyed better. We ended up taking our time drinking our wine but the rushed feeling was not good. I must say, the food was well prepared and tasted very good. We will try it again, but will tell them to slow down.

Great food-- chef and owner is as authentically Italian as his food and it shows. Elaine is usually up front to greet everyone and hand them off to a competent and friendly server. Perfectly done fish and pastas. Tasty beef and lamb as well as a great selection of first courses. No matter what you order, it will not disappoint. Save room for dessert--gelato or profiteroles are my favorites. Recently, they have started serving Sunday brunch. If it's a nice day, try to get a table outside-- a great way to start a day.

Francesco Ricchi has a long and rich history with successful Northern Italian restaurants and Cesco Osteria is no exception. Ate there last week on a business dinner, beating a thunderstorm by seconds that kept the restaurant relatively empty. We've been to this restaurant several times in both the new and old locations. The food is remarkably good, including some nice bread options that were brought to the table. One need not spend a lot to get a terrific meal. There are good lower cost options on the menu. Most recently, there were several service failures, including wine that wasn't delivered to one diner despite two requests. We would also go for a long time without being visited by the waiter. This wouldn't prevent us from returning, but it detract from what would have been a better experience.

The salmon was well prepared and placed on a bed of spinach, goat cheese, and wild onion. The list of wines by the glass is brief, but well chosen and reasonably priced. The weakest part of the meal was the small double espresso at the end of the meal, one which was noticeably lacking in the deep flavor of that which I prepare at home. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. While I like the separation of the dining room into informal and formal areas, the former is far too large. It has the feeling of eating in a hotel ballroom. I can just imagine the noise level when it is full.
