My wife and I were thrilled with our pastas. Francesco Ricchi had a special wild boar pasta which was probably the best pasta dish I've ever had.

"Our party of 4 had a pleasant experience. The server and staff were attentive, and the server was responsive to, and double-checked, specific questions about ingredients from one of us who has food allergies. The food was very good to excellent, and the wine was reasonably priced and quite good. The ambience was was very pleasant, including live music from the bar area at a nice background level."

"We went here with such high expactations and Cesco Osteria fell flat on its face. We went on good Friday and the restaurant was dead, so the service should had been fantastic. When we ordered the waiter forgot which bottle of wine we had selected. Then when our dinner arrived the waiter brought me the wrong ravioli. He appologized and rushed the correct order out to me, but when it go there it was not as hot (temperature wise) as I thought it should had been. I didn't send it back because my party was already halfway done with their dinner. All in all, I would say there is better Italian restaurants in the Bethesda area."

"We ate at the bar. I ordered a bottle of wine, only to be told that the wine refrigerator was acting up and the wine had to be chilled in ice before it was at the proper temperature. The appetizer came out before the wine had reached the proper temperature. Later I ordered a glass of wine from the 'wine by the glass' menu only to be told that they were out of the selection. Why they did not mention that at first was curious.

Anyway the food was very good. The service not so."

"It was a fairly busy for a Tuesday night. A fantastic dinner with outstanding service. The server, Carlos recommended a Pasta dish and a great wine selection (super tuscan) which were both out of this world. This restaurant is the real thing. Both of us raved about it on our way home!"

"We really loved the way Cesco Osteria has redone the interior of the space, it was inviting and open whereas it used to be heavy and oppressive. The food was fantastic, delicious, filling and even though we ate three courses each we didn't feel overly stuffed at the end of the meal. I wish I could remember the name of our server - Mariana? maybe - she was very helpful, willing to answer all our (many) questions and made some great recommendations. I'm looking forward to coming back and sampling more of the menu as well as some of the specialty cocktail drinks, which I completely missed looking at until I saw the dessert menu."

"great band playing in vibrant bar area, room to dance and sit and listen if you wish. Dinner was outstanding and the best part was that you could carry a tableside conversation and still enjoy the music.I had the monkfish saltimbocca which was great!I WILL be back especially when its outdoor dining season!"
