Cesare At The BeachFood was really good.We were surprised to find a storefront casual dining spot with such good food. One issue was the lasagna was salty but everyone else enjoyed. Nice tender veal and handmade pasta. Very nice shrimp.
The server was wonderful.

What I got was probably the best fish I've had since moving to the Tampa Bay area 10+ years ago. My mother had joined me and said it was one of the best fish she's ever had (and she's 76). It's a small place in a small strip mall on the edge of the Clearwater Beach community, away from the hustle and crowds of the beach. We sat outside and still had a little view of the water and it was so quiet and pleasant. We dined early (around 5:30 pm) and Cesare arrived before we left. He was very congenial, greeted each guest and was truly interested in their opinion. In other words, your entree doesn't come with a salad and a side vegetable or starch. Unless the entree is a pasta dish or a dish that incorporates veggies, they come at additional cost. From the bartender during our premeal drink to our host to our server to the owner who thanked us, a very cordial group. Our party of four were all thrilled with our meals. The three penne based dishes were outstanding as was our brushetta appetizer. The lasagna may have been the best I had outside of Little Italy in Boston or South PhilAdelphia. Having traveled much of the country, the aforementioned areas have tremendous italian food, and this south fla restaurant was not far behind. (Un)fortunately, the meal was so good and portions so fair, there was no room for dessert. On a recent trip to Tuscany my wife and I had a home cooked meal on a farm where everything was made fresh and with only the best ingredients. I can only say that if I closed my eyes and imagined the rolling hills of Italy's farm countryside while I ate that delicacy I was in seventh heaven. The service was outstanding!
