After having our wedding reception here, we go back year after year for the lobster Mac and cheese and steak. We were treated to a complimentary champagne toast to celebrate and have never been disappointed by the food!

Been here before and had a great time. This time the bar was nice but our server must've been new. Appetizers were great but Tuna was overcooked. (We heard another waiter tell his table to order the tuna almost rare, a tip that our waiter never told us about) My wife ordered it med-rare and it was overdone. My strip steak was ok, but I guess that I'll stay with filets or prime rib from now on. Was a bit noisy as we had a table that was near an inside entrance and a steady stream of people walking by didn't much help the ambiance.

dinner was fine except for the butter with the lobster tail. My friend and I both became ill after getting home and believe it was the butter. We both had filet and lobster tail and became very ill. It was very noisy and we could hardly have a conversation.

A very long wait for dinner made a great dining experience merely pleasant. We were told a large party in the banquet room was the reason our 6 dinners were delayed. As a result we would only consider this restaurant when we want to linger over drinks while waiting for dinner. Since we were with my parents, who don't drink, the wait seemed even longer than the 55 minutes between ordering and receiving our food. Such a shame given the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the wait staff.

We have been here a number of times with family, with a group and recently just the two of us. Overall the food is very good; the latest meal was moving toward outstanding. This meal we had wings with traditional buffalo sauce (hot sauce and butter) and they were quite good, not too hot, not bland. He had prime rib and the "small" 14 oz. was plenty as it had very little fat. She had fillet and it was done exactly as ordered. The vegetable, asparagus, was done exactly right, just barely crisp. The glass of wine was very generous, the martini made as requested. The mousse was excellent, the whoopie pie not as good-the cake was dry. Service was excellent. Only complaint was the high noise level with an almost full dining room-uncomfortable.

Food was prepared and presented very well. Our server Taylor was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Prices are up there, but we felt that we got what we paid for. Only complaint would be Shrimp Cocktail ($11.95) only had 3 Jumbo Shrimp. We have been to similar places that give you five for that price. Desserts were very good as well. Could not make a habit of dining here on a regular basis, but would certainly dine here again when in area and looking for a good experience.

My family and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The Colonial decor was very inviting, and everything was clean. The staff was friendly and attentive, even trying to help us get a nice photo to remember the occasion. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, as the presentation and taste were quite appetizing. I had the gorgonzola-encrusted filet mignon, with garlic mash and asparagus. Cooked to perfection, and thoroughly enjoyable! I'm not big on wine, so I can't help you there, but they did have a few nice craft beers available, including a local brew from the Adirondack Brewery. The desserts were fabulous as well. I had the special of espresso cheesecake, which was absolutely fabulous! This restaurant is a must try!

A very, warm, welcoming and charming environment in a historic place that has lots of character and charm. This is a gem of a restaurant just nort of Albany. The dinner meal that I had was very good. Lots of options for meal choices and the dinner was carefully plated. It was a nice find for me as I m not in this area very often but next time I am here, I will be back.

Alex our waiter was very attentive and helpful. I had the prime rib not something I usually get here ... but thought why not - it was a very tender piece of meat and tasteful. When order first brought it was a little too rare - but not a problem they took care of it right away, and manager even comp our dessert (which he didn't need to but it was appreciated - and very good). Girlfriend enjoyed her meal too. Always like to stop here when in the area.

This place would be good for your 80 year old grandmother. I ordered the cod, which was cooked properly, but totally devoid of seasoning. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon, medium well done - pink in the center. Her Filet was totally ruined - no sign of pink meet, totally dry from over cooking. Her mashed potatoes were bland.

The food was exceptional, our waiter was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. It was, by far, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. And I especially love the outreach program in place where for every meal bought, Century House will provide a meal for the homeless. It's so touching. Just a wonderful experience.

About 1 year ago the Century House revamped their menu, and not for the better. I am glad to see they have since brought back many of their original entrees and eliminated the boring pick your protein/veg/starch format of the "new and improved" menu. The Century House was highly recommended, but I must say we were a little disappointed. Tables are much too close together in the dining room-- you could hear the conversations of our neighbors better than those at our own table! While I can appreciate the need for some fat in a steak, my New York strip was more fat then meat. For a $200 dinner for four.... then being gridlocked in the parking lot due to prom arrival/drop off.... with nobody from the restaurant facility out directing traffic... what could have been a lovely meal became a disappointing experience.

Overall we enjoyed the dining experience. The wait staff was very attentive from the moment we walked in the door. The mood and atmosphere was a good combination of trendy in a rustic setting, casual to dressy, nice piano music and not too loud. We could have a normal conversation and did not have to listen to others. Food a bit pricey for the portion size but worth it if you like a lot of attention without intrusion while eating. I had the pan seared snapper and it was done just right. My husband had a steak that was cooked as asked, however it did not have a lot of flavor. The sides were delicious and in good proportion to the meats. I would only go there for a special occasion due to the price of the main course dinners.

I'm not sure if it was just a bad day. Food was not very good for lunch . We had two lunch salads that clearly tasted that they were made day before (tasted like the refrigerator). Ordered desert (brownie sundae x 1)and waited 10-15 min before we said forget it, paid the bill, and left. The espresso was very good however.
