A word from Century Grill & Century Room
Century Grill is the flagship restaurant of the Century Hospitality Group and is definitely not your average "grill next door" - we've been 'grilling' for over a decade and continue to strive at setting the bar high when it comes to innovative food & drink.

Corporate Chef Paul Shufelt has assembled an ambitious menu that promises a dish to satisfy every taste. His characterized collection of savory & sophisticated fare is "contemporary comfort food w/ flare". This is fresh quality food at a reasonable price coming out of a serious kitchen, complimented by an extensive & impressive wine selection.

In addition to the expansive restaurant, the Century Room takes on it's own vibrant identity, with a popular happy hour, 1/2 Price Wine Wednesdays and their resident house DJ spinning Thursday thru Saturday.

Century Grill & Century Room strive to provide the ultimate experience in Eat, Drink & Play...truly a restaurant with serious scene & cuisine.

Diner Reviews
  • "I haven't been to this rest in several years thought we'd give it a try since we were Given gift cards. Service was extremely slow. Caesar salad had absolutely no taste at all. Meal wasn't anything special. Overall The we didn't find the menu very special with regards to selection. Honestly we almost left to go to The Keg. Not good. Won't be back ever."

  • "We had a server who is so new to serving tables. We almost had to tell her what to do. The food was ok, but not worth the prices. We were expecting more, but it's definitely disappointing especially when the service is so amateurish."

  • "When we arrived, we were seated immediately, and greeted by our server, Julian. He made our meal a pleasant experience, engaging us in conversation while explaining the menu choices and feature. Our appetizers were very good, (calamari and chicken wings) We tried the Dinner for Two, and were surprised by how much food was on the plate! Our one son tried the feature tenderloin, and it was prepared perfectly. Our other son tried the seafood pasta dish, and had to take most home, the plate was so large! Overall, the meal was more than we expected, the service by Julian was exceptional, and we were "touched" by several other wait staff throughout the evening, so were made to feel very welcome. I would recommend this dining experience to anyone."

  • "First time my wife and I visited this restaurant and we both loved the experience. Great food and the service was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful evening."

  • "We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It is prepared on site which is such a treat these days! I always say I judge a restaurant by the veggie on my dish; not just there to fill the plate! No pre-packaged, microwaved meal here! We would definately return here sometime if in Edmonton again."

  • "This place has been around for over a decade, and it does a great job. My business partner and I shared the meal for two; with a chicken brash, a tenderloin steak and a few shrimp, and it was well done. Service a little slower than I expected, but we were there just to eat and go; not to linger as most diners would on a Saturday night. A good fine-dining experience. Couple of interesting points. Other restaurants were busier; a 90-minute wait at both the Keg and Chop nearby; we got an open-table reservation here right away. Not as busy, for some reason. Also the decor hasn't changed in a long time; the motif and colours were definitely out of fashion. My partner has been doing business functions here for years, and we will come again."

  • "Had not been to the Century Grill for approx. 10 years. It has changed. Not the prime rid place it used to be but it was good food and good service."

  • "The drunken bread basically completed my life. So tasty. Our waiter was friendly but didn't feel the need to interrupt us every time he walked by. Good show!"

  • "Booked online reservation then waited in bar for half hour because they forgot my reservation. Ordered a rum and 7 up received a rum and coke. Ordered a steak tenderloin received a new york. Waited for proper meal to be cooked while other meal at table got cold. Reviewed bill at end of meal and extra drink was charged. My bill was over $100 but the experience was worth maybe $10."

  • "My husband and i enjoyed a lovely Valentine's Day lunch at the Century Grill, We found the food to be very fine; and the service was professional, attentive (though not over-bearing) and extremely capable. Our only complaint was with the light levels in the restaurant: Although it was mid day, with the blackout blinds on the windows and overhead lights NOT situated over the tables (there were no candles on the tables either), the restaurant was beyond dim. I have recently had eye surgery for a common visual impairment and had I not had a mini-flashlight in my handbag, I would NOT have been able to read my own menu. Very embarrassing! (Our server told us that customers using flashlights is not uncommon at the Century Grill.)"

  • "The Century Grill was a great choice for Valentine's Day with my fiancée. We booked for 6:30 on the busiest dining day of the year and our table was ready right on time. Our server was great. She had knowledge of the wine list and menu from personal tasting experience and not just cue cards. Chicken parm balls were fantastic. Braised short rib was a great choice and the grilled salmon was cooked perfectly."

  • "Century Grill makes fantastic food and the service is outstanding! A couple of areas they could improve upon at lunch would be 1) Don't cram everyone into the same area to facilitate the serving staff. At lunch people are often conducting business and appreciate some room/privacy. With a lot of the restaurant empty, it was frustrating to be crammed into one area. 2) Your lunch menu needs to have more "lunch" type items. I found the menu had too many "dinner" type items. At lunch I prefer eating food that is easy to eat, smaller in portion, and a little on the lighter side. This makes talking with clients easier while eating your lunch and doesn't leave you feeling like you need a nap after lunch :)"

  • "Once again, a fantastic meal and a perfect way to bring in the New Year. As it was New Year's Eve, we had a later reservation. The dining room was quite energetic and busy but the staff handled it flawlessly. There were no long wait times and we never felt neglected or forgotten. Our meals were served in a timely fashion and our wine glasses were always topped off. Another fabulous night at Century Grill."

  • "We met friends for dinner out. It was fairly busy and got a bit noisy but overall, a lovely evening. We had the special for two, which includes a butter lettuce salad, a mixed platter of entrees including tenderloin, chicken and prawns, and a decadent chocolate dessert. It was a great way to sample their menu and was a nice blend of flavours and food. Would definitely recommend and go back again. The prices are a bit on the high side and the service is good."

  • "We recently visited Century Grill and had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. We had "The Thing we do for Two" menu and it was a very good assortment of menu items....a salad each to start, then a platter with filet mignon, chicken breast, prawns, potatoes au gratin, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and mushroom risotto. Then to top things off their flourless chocolate cake for dessert...Yum! It was a lovely evening!"

  • "It was extremely cold while dining. After bringing it up to the waitress, it was explained to us the fireplace was off. When our table, and the few tables around us, asked her to turn the fireplace on she said the table right in front of the fireplace was too warm. They were literally two feet from the heat. They were warm but the majority of the place was cold. I spent two hundred dollars to eat in a cold restaurant. Dan Moses"

  • "It was our first visit and we were not disappointed! The noise level was no problem it meant everyone was happy and having a good time. Very friendly staff, wonderful service and we noticed their attention to detail. Food was absolutely delicious and was presented with a trendy curve. We ordered the dinner for 2 and especially enjoyed the appetizers, just the perfect flavors and the lettuce melted in our mouth. Sharing the main course was fun and just right! Dessert was spectacular!!! We would definitely come again for our next special occasion. We are on a budget but found the prices reasonable. Love it!"

  • "We were very sad to have had a very unhappy dinner experience that last time we went (Dec 30 2013). The restaurant was its usual beautifully arranged. We were welcomed by the host. Very pleasant but not exactly dressed for what formerly was a high end dining experience. Previously the host was always in a suit and it was very nice to start the evening that way. Then our waiter came to the table with water and to take our drink orders. I ordered a glass of one of the Malbec's offered by the restaurant. He didn't hear me correctly or just didn't pay attention.I was left with the latter impression. There were two pleasant young women seated behind us and I heard his patter with them. SEE REMAINDER OF REVIEW IN NOTE BELOW . SEnd me another"

  • "It was nice to find an upscale restaurant that was not selling tickets or resorting to a set menu for NYE. The servers were dressed in a 1920's theme which provided a somewhat celebratory atmosphere on this special night. The food was excellent as was the service. We will return."

  • "We came in for a business lunch on Dec 23rd, used Open Table and reserved early 11:30 as one of our diners had to be gone by 12:30. He didn't get a chance to eat because his lunch didn't arrive until 12:40. We were told by our server that, since the 23rd was the only day that the restaurant was going to be open that week, a couple of items were not available (all items we were going to order) We were told that they didn't want to order product that was going to spoil when they weren't open...I wish I would have known that prior to booking a reservation. This tells me is that customers dining on Dec 23rd are less important and won't get the full menu. The chicken in my salad was overcooked, I commented but it was not really acknowledged."

  • "Not for the hard of hearing. Sound travels throughout the restaurant. It is difficult to hear your table companions. In general it was over crowded. Service was slow. Although seated fat 12:15, food did not arrive until 1 pm. Thus not recommended for lunch especially for those who only have a lunch hour."

  • "Although we had reservations, it took as an hour to get served a salad and a wrap with fries. I can appreciate it was Christmas, but if you know you're going to be busy - then make sure you have the staff needed. Ok if you have at least 2 hours for a lunch, but otherwise not & the food was just ok. I would try it again sometime in the evening when it's not so frantic and loud."

  • "The appetizers we had were calamari and hummus/bruschetta combo. Both were excellent. The steak was ok , a lot tough and the sauce on it was way too salty. Veggies were more than el dente and could've been cooked a bit more. The dessert we all shared the junk food platter. I have had better desserts elsewhere. The cake wasn't great, the Creme brûlée was awful. The banana split was par. The service was excellent. I do not think we will choose this restaurant a third time."

  • "Our group (diverse tastes, hunger levels, and selected food allergies) recently had an enjoyable dining experience at Century Grill. All the food was prepared to everyones satisfaction and it was delctable. Gyoza starter delicious, and the ribs/chicken/steaks were perfectly cooked to everyones mouthwatering satisfaction. Our server was very attentive, ensuring the wine glasses were kept up, as well as the water glasses for the non drinkers in the group. Overall a nice experience."

  • "Food quailty is very poor for a restaurant with these prices and also history in Edmonton. I wonderd why the place was only 1/2 full on a sat night and after trying to eat a ribeye that looked like it was driven over with a gravel truck it became so apperant why. My GF's Calamari was dry and very heavy and the kale saled was also very poor. We have eaten at othe places from this chain with good results so one must wonder about the cook here....and the manager!"
