This place has a nice decor and is right on the square. The food was OK...not great. The service was a little slow the night we were there but very friendly which made up for it. It is known for their singing bartender and waitress which were very talented and entertaining. Overall a nice experience.

The place was empty when we arrived at noon having reserved a table. The staff was busy yacking to each other and watching football. My guest ordered crab cakes and I ordered mussels with fries. The crab cakes were terrible and mostly filler. A limp "salad" accompanied the crab cakes, the lettuce brown and torn. The mussels were obviously old and mostly just sinew. The shoestring fries were submerged in the broth - amazing way to serve fires. They were soggy and inedible. It is a shame that this place is even open in the wine country where there are real restaurants with real chefs. If the owners did not have the financial wherewithal to support this "trophy" eatery it would ha closed long ago.

Dined with friends on a weekend excursion to the wine country. The food was acceptable, not particularly note worthy. The wine list was limited and dominated by the Hotel owners creations. Our waiter was less than charismatic, very dry. By comparison, the waitress staff for other tables actually engaged our group, recognizing the less than lively demeanor. The bar area appeared entertaining with singing, conversation, and a particularly unusual staff member sniffing bottles but never actually pouring a drink for anyone.

Centre Du Vin is an elegant, yet lively bistro with a real Sonoma appeal. Whether visiting for lunch or dinner the dining room is romantically charming and patio seating with views of the Historical Sonoma Plaza offers an amazing wine country bistro setting. The food is divine... our favorites were the "Grilled Peach" salad, "Blue Frites" and the "Bistro Burger". Arrive early for dining and visit the tasting bar to enjoy Ledson wines.

The stunning building (inside & out) was constructed in 1999 by Ledson Construction (great builder) at no expense spared. This establishment is more of a Sonoma Plaza location to showcase their Ledson wines and close by Ledson Winery . . . AKA: The Castle. Chicken Cordon Bleu ($22) moist chicken breast stuffed with ham & gruyère cheese, then lightly floured & pan-seared, served alongside roasted garlic mashed potatoes, topped with a rich & creamy Dijon mustard sauce * Croque Monsieur ($14) ham & Gruyère cheese on sweet sliced french bread, brushed with Dijon & Béchamel sauce. Great place to sit outside (covered) and watch the world go by. The meals are decent / OK. This could be a great place with some polish. (both food & service)

Food was slow in coming and then cold. Portions are also smaller than other similar locations in the area and for more dollars. I eat in Sonoma a lot and wouldn't return to this location - plenty of other much nicer locations.

Reserved here while visiting Sonoma. Great food, good service. The only problem came when, after asking for separate checks, we only received one check. The waiter became busy, we tried to divide up the check ourselves, using cash and card and he became confused about what to charge where and the cash people did not receive change back so that we could confirm everything in the end. Bad ending to a great meal :-(.

We completely enjoyed the entire meal. Between us we had soup, salad, shrimp, salmon and a bottle of wine. Justin, the chef, sat with us for about 20 minutes, together with one of the waitresses and we had a great conversation. Afterwards he opened a bottle of merlot for us to try and we received a complementary dessert. We will be back time and again.

There are many places in Sonoma with better food. That said, the French onion soup is worth a visit, and the "small plates" are generous servings. The restaurant is lovely and the location on the town square is ideal for watching the day go by in this cute town. Service is friendly and you will not be rushed.

Wine great. Outside dining on the Square - perfect. The food is good. Not great, not bad. A little dry. If you have never been to France, have been wine tasting all day or just want an ok meal you will be fine. The menu has the right items, the execution is where it dulls.

Loud, extremely understaffed, and the food does not make up for it. Mussels and frites was pretty good but the mussels themselves were just ok. Halibut was well cooked but very boring in terms of spicing. Pork was rubbery and sauce was uninteresting. They need a bartender that actually makes drinks rather than making the waitstaff do it. And they need some bussers.

This is specifically for lunch. Had the french onion soup and the mussel frites with a glass of red. I'm generally positive in my reviews (because I love food!) but found this experience pretty average - maybe an off day. Starters and mains all brought out at once for some reason. Soup as the house sepciality wasn't great and the mussels were just ok.

Hearing that this restaurant on the Sonoma Plaza was a good place for lunch, we went there on a Saturday night to try the dinner menu. The service was fast and pleasant and the ambiance radiated "fun". My two complaints are that the Centre, owned by Ledson, only serves his wines, and that my dinner selection was disappointing. I ordered the short-ribs of beef, which turned out to be large single rib which was under cooked and chewy.

Lunch reservation 11:30 am; arrived at 11:27. Met by lovely woman (said she was not the manager, owner, or waitress; we were never sure of her position). She told us we could not be seated as the host had not yet arrived for work (there was not one other customer in the whole restaurant). Host then raced in, and we were seated. We ordered what sounded like a great array of soups/sandwiches. Yet when it arrived, all meals appeared smothered in cheeses/oils, & all were bland & uncreative. Told waitress; she did not apologize or ask why we weren't happy. Ordered dessert; chocolate mousse arrived as tiny "plop" on small white plate--ridiculously small/unappealing. Shared thoughts with others in town who said that it had gone downhill.

Restaurant week - 3 course meal $29. On Sonoma Square-bar/restaurant opens to the square. Great old hotel with lots of ambiance. Food: not so impressive. It was pretty pedestrian in it's taste/prep/presentation compared to the cost (even though this was a deal compared to their usual prices). The crab cake reminded me of my canned crab/Old Bay concoction I make at home. Chicken overcooked, potatoes heavy and sauce stayed with me for hours (ugh!). Lemon brulee was good but nothing special (a person having chocolate mousse: a plop of pudding on a bread plate). All edible, but... Go for a drink and to soak up the atmosphere and, then, go to dinner somewhere else.

We ate here with our two sons and our teen-aged grandchildren, one of whom is a foodie and the other a picky eater. Both thought the food was great. The French onion soup was pronounced to be excellent , and my husband and I really liked the risotto croquettes. When we arrived, our table for six was set up in a corner by the fireplace which gave us a sense of privacy. The service was impeccable.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant. As wine club members we sat at the bar and enjoyed a wine tasting before lunch. We were lucky enough to be served by the General Manager/Executive Chef, Justin Bruckert, who was both attentive and knowledgeable. He also poured quite generously! The food was incredible. We had Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Mussels with Chorizo and Frites; absolutely outstanding.

I'm a nearby resident and have walked past this spot many times but never eaten here before. To be honest, I just thought it was a wine-tasting spot. While browsing open table, I found it was a restaurant. The short French themed menu and beautiful formal interior exhude, "Upscale, Fine-Dining Establishment." However, the service was very rushed (it felt like they wanted a quick table turn) the food was mediocre and overall the entire experience was much more casual that we expected. We wouldn't have minded in a pizza joint or Mexican restaurant, but I think the restaurant is setting guests up for disappointment. Centre du Vine is simply not true to the tone that it sets when you walk in the door.

Quaint casual cafe in what looks like a hotel out if the French Quarter. I've had them a hundred places, but their mussels are superb. Croque monsieur w/salad is the perfect lunch.
