From recycled barn wood to sculptural light fixtures and honeyed lighting, the warm, rustic interior at Central Standard invites you to come and stay awhile. Start with a meal in one of our oversized backlit booths or grab a quick bite at the bar. Lounge with craft cocktails or bottle service. We also have a private dining room for your next event or meeting.


Our Executive Chef's menu features gastropub fare, inspired by some of our favorite places across CST, from Fargo to New Orleans. Prepared with locally sourced, market fresh ingredients, all of our dishes tell a unique story. Our beverage program is equally as inventive and boasts a slew of creative craft cocktails, over 40 beers on draft and an extensive wine list.

  • "When I booked the reservation, I mentioned a dairy allergy and they were very accommodating and attentive to that from the greeter to the waiter. The menu had some basics that you'd expect but also some unique dishes that were fun and different. I went with the salmon that came with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. My daughter had the burger on a pretzel bun. The salmon and burger were quite good, but the fries were freaking outstanding! Sadly we didn't get dessert because of the allergy but it was still a great meal with great service."

  • "The food at Central Standard ranges from burgers and salads to nicer dishes like fresh salmon. While my companions raved about the salmon, my "brisket burger" was riddled with fat and gristle - yuck. Our waitress was inexcusably terrible - kept forgetting requests for drinks, disappeared for ages (on a slow Wednesday night). Also, be VERY careful where you park near this place. Our car was towed from a parking lot down the street that had a no parking sign hidden under a tree branch. The place has potential, but the staff (cooks included) need to be more consistent."

  • "This was our third time to visit Central Standard. Both my wife and I have tried something different each time. The food is well prepared and the chef adds his own touch to almost every dish. Central Standard offers a wide variety of dishes ranging from gourmet Mac dishes to steak and chicken. The wait staff is always friendly and seems glad to make suggestions on the menu. It is located in a former industrial district that has become an exciting area to visit. We will be back."

  • "Our food was very good - loved the salad. The Brussels sprouts were divine. The ribs were ok - just a little too saucy. But Oh, the service. We sat for 15 minutes before a waiter finally came over to ask if we'd been helped. He took our drink order and came back a little while later with those drinks and told us our waiter had gotten busy and he'd be taking care of us. (There were 3 other tables with people at them in the entire restaurant. Have no idea what was keeping whoever was supposed to be our waiter so busy.) Mind you, there were 2-3 servers just standing around waiting for a large party to get there. Then we ordered a couple of starters and dinner - which all came out attheverysametime. Not worth the drive from North Dallas."

  • "I had heard good things about Central Standard. The place was pretty good. Not great. The patio was shut down with barriers blown over so the entrance was uninviting. Collin was our server. He was energetic and attentive. Gumbo was great. Blackened Catfish Po-Boy was soggy and didn't taste blackened. I was underwhelmed by the portion size of the french fries. Steak was good. Surprised that they didn't offer any kind of bread at the table. I liked that the chef was delivering food to the tables whenever possible. Felt the tables were spaced too far apart. Made the space feel cavernous instead of cozy. I hope the place gets busier. The staff seemed to care a great deal and you could tell that they want the restaurant to work."

  • "I was excited to be able to get last minute valentine reservations. We arrived about 8:10-15 for a reservation of 8:30. This place appeared to be only half full with most of the open seating near the bar and front of the restaurant. They immediately seat us and take us to the mostly empty bar area (requested a booth on open table) and they sat us next to a table with a kid and no one else near us. Annoying. Just took away from the romantic evening. Our server, while friendly and attentive, was sort of dressed down and mentioned she had been "working since 11am" several times...do I care? The good food and cheap beer made up for it though. I'll go back but will be very picky on where they seat me next time."

  • "Salmon was undercooked and cool to the touch. Mexibano was ok, but again, not more than lukewarm. Service was slow, albeit friendly. Fries were good. Manager did offer to replace, and ambience was upbeat and warm."

  • "$15 for a Roast Beef sandwich? I can get a better one at Arby's. This place was empty on a Saturday night, as I guess the word is out that the food is bad. (Someone forgot to tell Thrillist, as we read about this restaurant on one of their best of lists). The sandwich had no flavor, the meet looked like deli meat, not some slow roasted delight. The pepper spread also had little or no flavor. The fries were inconsistent with one not fully cooked, and others way to hot to eat. Massive space that needs people to create ambiance. Sadly, I doubt this will be around in another 2 months."

  • "Good food, but the waiter must have been new or concerned about his birthday the next day, which he talked about numerous times.we ordered martins that were half filled glasses; it was like the bartender made one and split it between 2 glasses. We ordered appetizers and some water. After we finished the appetizers, the waiter came back to the table numerous times and never would pick up the empty platters and plates until I finally asked him to take it. We still had no water by time our dinner came. One of us went over to another waiter to ask for some and it was brought immediately. The food was very good though."

  • "Went there on a Sunday evening for dinner at 7 pm, and the place was practically empty. Only 3 other tables were filled with a few other patrons at the bar. One waitress was working as hostess and waitress; but she was very attentive and did a great job. We started with some of the specialty cocktails offered, however, they were out of the ingredients for one of them. The menu has a mac and cheese of the day; and two of our party had that. The mac and cheese had barbecue brisket in it; and it was very good. Another person had the tacos, another the spicy seafood pasta, and a burger. All of the food was delicious. My only complaint was that the music was so loud; it was very difficult to carry on a conversation."

  • "I loved Central Standard my first time (and only time I've actually eaten there). So when we were looking for Christmas Eve dinner, I went to Open Table and booked a 7:00 reservation. When we got there at 7:00, there was a sign saying they'd closed early for Christmas Eve. I burst into tears and we drove around until we found another place open. Luckily that was a great experience, but for a while it looked like Central Standard was literally going to ruin Christmas. I will absolutely never book them on Open Table, because it's clear they don't pay attention to reservations. Not only didn't they update their hours, but they also never called or emailed people who'd made reservations when they were closed to give them a heads up."

  • "Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's much around Central Standard. My boyfriend and I made reservations for Sunday brunch at 1:30p because we thought we'd have to wait once we arrived, but that so was not the case. There were maybe 20 inside, which is unfortunate because we loved Central Standard. The breakfast flatbread was amazing and thhe bottomless mimosas were the perfect mixture of oj and champagne. Maybe it's a totally different vibe for dinner, but we found. It quaint, relaxing and very tasty."

  • "The person I sat next to on a plane recommended Central Standard to me (and highly suggested brunch ... Which I haven't tried yet). Reading some of the reviews here and on Yelp, I was a little worried I'd selected the wrong place, but happily nothing negative I'd read proved to be true in our experience. The four of us ordered broadly off the menu and really enjoyed all of our food which was served with all the care and speed one could ask for. The food is reasonably priced for what you get, half the table was pleased to take home leftovers. It's good comfort style food, and I could see myself eating here on week nights when I didn't want to cook if I lived closer. I do think they could tweak some flavors and items to kick it up a notch."

  • "I made a reservation for 1pm on Christmas Day on Open Table. Here's the problem. It wasn't open. Disruption followed. How Open Table and this restaurant can allow that to happen is beyond me. Consumers rely on Open Table to list accurate times and schedule their days/evenings accordingly. I'm sure both Open Table and Central Standard will have an excuse. and I'm sure each will blame the other. Neither are worth hearing. Inexcusable."

  • "The food was very disappointing. Between the three of us, we order the salmon, chicken tacos and avocado turkey burger. We also had a side of the bacon jalapeno mac. The mac was dry, the salmon over cooked, the chicken tacos were tasteless and the turkey burger sub par. The atmosphere was really cool but very loud. Definitely not a restaurant I would recommend. Drinks were ok."

  • "We went here for a chamber of commerce mixer and stayed for dinner. The food and drinks were well made and very tasty. The menu is an interesting mix that should have something for everyone. There were at least two other groups having holiday functions but the place did not seem overcrowded at all. We found several very good possibilities in the wine list and really enjoyed the one we picked. We would definitely go back again."

  • "Scheduled a 9pm dinner on a Tuesday night thinking that there might be a couple people here considering Meddlesome Moth down the street usually has a good vibe at the later hours. The restaurant was empty with approximately 2 other tables in the dining area and a couple people at the bar aka dead. They were out of our first choice appetizer, Deviled Eggs - the waitress recommended calamari, which we really didn't want, so we asked her to come back. About 5 min later, she came back saying that the calamari was almost ready, which we quickly informed her we didn't order...odd. We ordered the brussels sprouts, which were actually pretty good as an app; she brought out with the entrees. Disappointed by the poor service and non-vibrant feel."

  • "The ambiance was nice, however there were no patrons there to enjoy it. The place is huge and with no one there, it left you feeling like there's a reason this place is dead.... The food was awful I tried the brisket entree and my friend had the chicken entree. Both meats were very dry. My brisket was entirely made of fat. You could tell that the BBQ sauce was store bought. The carrot cake was store bought as well. Straight from the freezer to our table. Pretty disappointing."

  • "food was delicious! only down part of the visit was that the bar was out of stock to make most of their drinks on the menu! my group was a bit amazed by that. will say false advertisement by the drink on the website the waitress stated it wasn't their drink! odd.... in all the food was very good, but the drinks were a downer. i would go again, and hoping the next time the bar is stocked up!"
