We had two graduation events to attend at SMU and there was just enough time between them to grab a little lunch. The wait staff was attentive and responsive and the manager came over to make sure things were running smoothly. Brunch was delicious, too! Well, we had friends in town, so we decided to try it. What a great restaurant. My lack of 5 stars due to the extra long time it took for me and 3 family members to get our food after we ordered. Our waiter was very professional but with the open kitchen pretty visible to the dining room, it wasnt hard to see there was some confusion that day. Although it was Easter Sunday, the restaurant was not packed and the menu was intersting but pretty 'compressed' as well so I expected a bit more efficiency. Wait wasn't crazy long though. My son's grilled cheese/tomato bisque arrived on the cool side but he was so hungry he ate it anyway. It and everything else we ordered had great flavor and high marks for the restaurant design and atmosphere.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster brunch!!!Came to central 214 for Easter brunch with my future in-laws and had a wonderful time. They had a special menu for Easter and everything on it looked amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious, such as the scotch egg and the famous triple cooked fries! Despite being very busy, our server Matt did an excellent job taking care of our needs and made us feel like family! To be honest I choose the restaurant because it was in the 1000 point category. Yes, it is in a hotel, but the restaurant is wonderful. We had the Scotch Egg to start and it was lovely and crispy on the outside a little over done for me inside, but still very nice. I had the chicken for dinner and my husband had the fish. Both were very well prepared and presented. Our server was helpful with any questions we had and was always there when you needed him. We will go back, regardless if a on the 1000 point list or not. Gram Dodd and the whole staff at 214 are a Dallas treasure!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Friday night with friendsThe Central 214 team out-did themselves Friday evening for my wife, I and friends. The food was good, my ribeye was prepared medium well yet I asked for medium, but everyone else's was great, I think that's what really matters. The atmosphere was electric and inviting. The service personnel were friendly and hospitable with all of our needs. Overall the evening was a success and I'd like to thank everyone that worked that evening.
